従って、H鋼11のフランジ11aの外側部をガイド用の定規材14に沿わした状態で、H鋼11を地中に挿入できるので、挿入時の施行及び管理を簡略化できるだけでなく、H鋼11の建込精度も向上する。
なお、通常は本設の杭の建込精度が1/100以下であるのに対して、山留めH鋼では、仮設の場合で1/100~1/150以下、本設利用の場合で1/150から1/200程度であり、本設の杭よりも厳しい精度が求められる。

継手で互いに長手方向に接合するH鋼同士のそれぞれのウェブ及びフランジの内側部に沿った位置に、前記継手として機能するコ字状の連結金具を配設し、該連結金具と前記ウェブとをボルトで接合すると共に、前記連結金具と前記フランジの内側部とを溶接したH鋼を用い、
該H鋼の前記フランジの外側部を地表面に設置したガイド用の定規材に沿わした状態で、該H鋼を地中に挿入すること
を特徴とする山留めH鋼の挿入方法。
