Description

This invention is a revolutionary mask that eliminates the shortcomings of known masks and face shields for use against the new coronavirus, SARS, MERS, influenza, etc.

New strains of the new coronavirus have emerged and are accelerating, with person-to-person infections on the rise, but there is still no definitive way to protect against it.

The virus enters the throat through the eyes and nose.
The drawback of known masks is that they do not protect the eyes, allowing viruses to get in. In addition, according to a supercomputer demonstration, viruses can be released from the outside through the pores of the mask, and external viruses can also pass into the mask.
In addition, according to supercomputer demonstrations, face shields allow the virus to escape from the sides of the forehead and under the chin, and also allow it to flow in. Therefore, when the state of emergency is lifted, a rebound will occur and the next wave will come.

The present invention, in which a film or plate-shaped transparent or opaque body is attached to a mask made of nonwoven fabric or the like by adhesion or the like, has the following ten major effects.
(1) It can prevent the coronavirus from entering through the eyes. Conventional masks cannot do this.
(2) Even if the mask is worn with the nose open, it still functions as a mask and does not allow the virus to enter or escape. This is not possible with conventional masks.
(3) The mask comes with a protective case, making it easy to carry around. This is not possible with conventional masks or face shields.
(4) Prevent the mask from getting dirty. Conventional masks and face shields get dirty.
(5) You can add your own design or name by hand, which is not possible with publicly available masks.
(6) Prevent viruses from entering the mouth through the mask and causing infection. Conventional masks cannot do this.
(7) Viruses from the mouth can pass through the mask and not go outside and infect others. Conventional masks allow viruses to pass through.
(8) The space between the mask and the transparent or opaque body creates a chimney effect, which raises the airflow and prevents viruses from entering through the mouth, nose, and eyes. Conventional masks cannot prevent this.
(9) Sufficient space is maintained between the transparent body and the eyes.
(10) By coloring the adhesive parts black, they can be easily seen from a distance, preventing collisions with cars, bicycles, and pedestrians, and also creating an attractive design.

Conventional masks only cover the mouth and nose, not the eyes, and therefore cannot prevent viruses from entering. For example, nonwoven masks allow 30% of viruses of pm2.5 (diameter 2.5 microns) or less to pass through. In addition, face shields allow viruses to enter and exit from the bottom and sides, are large and heavy, are inconvenient to carry, cannot be easily put on and taken off, and are wide and get in the way, so they cannot be worn all the time.

In contrast, the present inventors have invented a mask that has many revolutionary functions as explained in the section on the effects of the invention, and that is very thin, light, small, and has good cost performance.
An embodiment of the present invention will be described below.

The first embodiment of the present invention is characterized in that, as shown in FIG. 1, an adhesive portion 2 is partially provided on the inside of the lower end of a transparent or opaque body 1, and the adhesive portion 2 is attached to the outside of the upper edge of a mask 4 made of breathable nonwoven fabric or the like.
(A) is a front view of three adhesive parts at the bottom end of a transparent or opaque body 1 attached to the outer side of the upper edge of a breathable nonwoven fabric 4. It is preferable to attach the adhesive parts 2 1 to 5 mm inside from both the left and right ends of the upper edge of the mask and 1 to 5 mm below the upper edge, and an adhesive part 2 is also provided at the center of the upper edge of the mask. When a double-sided adhesive cushion material is used, a small gap is created between the outside of the mask 4 and the inside of the transparent or opaque body 1, the thickness of the double-sided adhesive cushion material 201 at the adhesive part. The thickness of the double-sided adhesive cushion material is about 0.5 to 4 mm, and about 0.8 mm is preferable. When the cushion material is used, the transparent body is less likely to peel off due to vibration, and the gap creates a chimney effect, allowing air to flow into the gap from below and escape upward, preventing viruses from entering the face, preventing the transparent or opaque body 1 from fogging up, and making the mask easier to bend and wear.
(B) is a front view of the mask with four adhesive parts at the bottom end of the transparent or opaque body 1, and the wire at the upper center of the mask can be conveniently bent to fit the shape of the nose. This has the effect that the transparent or opaque body 1 will not peel off from the mask 4 even if the mask 4 is curved too much around the nose when worn.
FIG. 2C shows a side cross-sectional view in which the upper end of the mask 4 and the lower end of the transparent or opaque body 1 are joined at an adhesive part 2 .
The adhesive is preferably a permanent adhesive having an adhesive strength of at least 3 N. The adhesive strength is expressed in units of N/10 mm, in terms of 90-degree peel adhesive strength.
The color of the mask 4 is not limited to white, but may be black or other colors, and may be matched with the color of the adhesive portion.
The number of adhesive parts is not limited to this and can be any number depending on the adhesive strength, the bending of the mask wire, and the ease of bending the mask, and the color can be black, other colorful colors, or transparent.
The transparent or opaque body 1 may be transparent only in the portion that is visible, and the side surface or the overlap portion where the adhesive is located may be opaque.
The adhesive portion 2 can be fixed by means of a double-sided adhesive cushion material, double-sided tape, adhesive, staples, sewing thread, heat sealing, welding, hook-and-loop fasteners, and the like.

According to this first embodiment, the transparent or opaque body 1 can protect the eyes from the new coronavirus and droplets, while the mask 4 made of nonwoven fabric or the like can be used to breathe through the mouth and nose.

The second embodiment of the present invention is an embodiment of the present invention in which both inner ends of the lower end of a transparent or opaque body 1 are joined to the outer upper edge of a mask 4 made of breathable nonwoven fabric or the like with staples 9, as shown in FIG. 2, where (A) is a front view, (B) is a side cross-sectional view, and the arrows indicate the direction in which the transparent or opaque body 1 is folded over, and (C) is a side cross-sectional view showing the transparent or opaque body 1 and the mask 4 made of breathable nonwoven fabric or the like in a folded state.
It is preferred that the staples be driven from the inside of the mask 4 and that a protective label be applied only over that area and/or over the protruding legs from the outside.
According to the thirteenth embodiment, the transparent or opaque body 1 and the mask 4 are joined by staples 9, which has the effect of enabling inexpensive production and easy recycling of the transparent body 1 etc. without deterioration of performance.

As shown in Fig. 3, the third embodiment of the present invention is an embodiment in which an adhesive part 2 is provided at the nearly central part (at approximately 1/2 the height) of a transparent or opaque body 101 that is approximately twice the size of the first embodiment, and is attached to the upper end of a mask 4 made of breathable nonwoven fabric or the like. (A) is a front view of the mask when adhesive parts 2 are provided at both ends, and the mask 4 and eyes can be covered with the transparent body 1. (B) is a side cross-sectional view of (A), in which the mask 4 with an adhesive part at the upper end is located on the face side. When the product of the present invention is worn, the transparent body 101 and the mask 4 are adhered at both the left and right ends, so that both the transparent body 101 and the mask 4 are curved to fit the shape of the face. (C) is a front view of the mask when adhesive parts 2 are provided in four places, and since adhesive parts are provided even in the part with a strong degree of curvature near the nose, the transparent body 101 and the mask 4 are less likely to peel off.

As shown in Figure 4, the fourth embodiment of the present invention is an embodiment in which the adhesive portion 2 with the transparent or opaque body 101 is only near the center. (A) is a front view of the transparent or opaque body 101 adhered to the upper end of a mask 4 made of breathable nonwoven fabric or the like. As shown in (B) a top view of the product of the present invention when worn, when the mask is worn, the side end of the transparent body 101 is separated 10 from the mask, making it almost flat, and there are excellent effects such as no distortion of the image seen through the transparent body 101 at the sides or around the eyes, no reflections, and no fogging.

The fifth embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 5, is a diagram showing that the transparent or opaque body 1 of the mask of the present invention shown in FIG. 1(A) of the first embodiment is folded toward the inside of a mask 4 made of breathable nonwoven fabric or the like, thereby protecting the mask 1 from dirt and making it portable.
(A) is a front view of the mask 4 bonded to the transparent or opaque body 1, (B) is a side cross-sectional view of (A), with the arrow indicating the direction in which the transparent or opaque body 1 is stacked, and (C) is a side cross-sectional view when folded over, which has the effect of keeping the inside of the mask 1 from being exposed to the atmosphere and keeping it clean. In addition, the mask 4 and the transparent body 1 can be tied together with the ear strings or rubber bands 3 on the back and front of the page, making it convenient to carry.

6A, the sixth embodiment of the present invention is characterized in that two transparent bodies 102 and a transparent or opaque body 103 are adhered to a mask 4, and the mask is folded as a hinge. To enable folding of the mask as a hinge, the transparent bodies, i.e., the transparent body 102 and the transparent or opaque body 103, are provided with adhesive portions 21, 22 at the ends or side ends of adjacent sides of each transparent body, and are adhered to the mask 4. As a result, as shown in the side cross section of (B), when the transparent body 102 is folded, the mask 4 becomes a hinge, and the transparent body 102 and the transparent or opaque body 103 protect the front and back of the mask 4, preventing it from getting dirty and enabling it to be carried.
(C) is a seventh embodiment, in which the transparent body 102 and the transparent or opaque body 103 are joined and bonded with adhesive tape 23, and the transparent body 102 is bonded to the upper end of the mask 4 by adhesive parts 2 at the left and right ends provided at the lower end, or the entire upper edge of the mask 4 is bonded with adhesive tape, and the adhesive tape serves as a hinge. (D) is a side cross-sectional view of the transparent body 102 of the invention in (C) when folded inwardly of the mask 4, and as described above, the adhesive tape 23 serves as a hinge, and the mask 4 can be covered with the transparent body 102 and the transparent or opaque body 103.
The adhesive tape 23 is transparent and is preferably provided over the entire width of the mask in consideration of strength, but may be provided partially. The tape width is preferably about 20 mm, but is not limited to this.
(E) is a front view of the eighth embodiment in which a transparent body 102 and a transparent or opaque body 103 are joined together with one side of a cushioned double-sided tape 26, and the other side of the cushioned double-sided tape 26 is attached to the upper end of a mask 4, which also serves as an adhesive part for the mask. (F) is a side cross-sectional view of 102 and 103 when folded over with the cushioned double-sided tape 26 as a hinge, and the mask 4 can be covered with the transparent body 102 and the transparent or opaque body 103.
The cushion double-sided tape 26 is preferably arranged in four places, but is not limited to this, and a plurality of pieces are arranged. The size is preferably about 10 mm x 15 mm, and about 0.8 mm thick, but is not limited to this.

As shown in Fig. 7, the present invention is a side view of a wearing example of the mask shown in Fig. 2(A) of the second embodiment. Even in the so-called nose-out mask state, the mask of the present invention is transparent and can protect against virus droplets.
As shown in (B), even if the product of the present invention is worn while wearing glasses, there is no problem such as contact with the transparent body. (C) is a side view of the product of the present invention when worn as shown in Figures 3, 4, and 6. The mask part 4 is covered with a transparent or opaque body 103, and the gap between the mask parts 4 and 103 creates a chimney effect, causing the air current (11) to rise, preventing viruses from entering the mask part 4 or the eyes covered by the transparent body 102.
(D) is a top view of (A), (B), and (C) when worn, and by bending the mask 4 into the shape of the nose with the wire 401, gaps are created between the transparent bodies 1, 102, and 103 and between the nose and the periphery and 1, 102, and 103, and exhaled air flows upward through these gaps, which has the effect of making it very easy to breathe even while wearing the mask 4. Furthermore, in addition to the gaps between the mask 4 and the transparent bodies 1, 102, and 103, gaps are created due to the thickness of the adhesive parts 2, 21, and 22, so that a chimney effect creates an airflow upward along between the inside of the transparent body and the mask, preventing the entry of viruses and preventing fogging of the inside of the transparent body 1 due to exhaled air.

Here, claim 12 will be explained with reference to the symbols in Figs.
As shown in Fig. 7(C), the chimney effect of the space between the transparent or opaque body 103 and the mask 4 causes airflow to rise (11), preventing viruses from entering the mouth, nose, and eyes. It also shows that the transparent body 102 prevents viruses from entering from the outside through the eyes (12), and the transparent or opaque body 103 prevents viruses from entering the mouth from the outside through the mask 4 (13), and conversely, the transparent or opaque body 103 blocks viruses from exiting the mouth through the mask 4 (14).
The chimney effect will be explained with reference to Fig. 7(D). The chimney effect occurs due to the gaps between the transparent bodies 1, 102, 103 and the mask 4, causing the air flow (11) to rise.
Therefore, by inserting the symbols into claim 12, the eight functions of the present invention are incorporated as follows: Here, the "mask" refers to the "mask provided with a transparent or opaque body" of the present invention.
"In claim 1, a film or plate-like transparent or opaque body (1, 102, 103) is bonded to the front of the mask part (4) made of nonwoven fabric or the like by a bonding material (2, 21, 22) such as a cushioned double-sided adhesive, to protect the eyes and prevent viruses from entering through the eyes (Figs. 7, 12). Even if the mask is worn with the nose exposed, the structure prevents viruses from entering through the eyes (Figs. 7, 1, 102). The mask case (Figs. 6(B)(D)(E), Figs. 8(C), Fig. 11) is included, making it easy to carry and prevents the mask from getting dirty (1, 102, 103). In addition, the mask can be designed by hand. A mask characterized by a structure and configuration that has a surface (Fig. 7, 103) on which a name or logo can be written, a structure (1, 102, 103) that prevents viruses from entering the mouth or nose from the outside through the mask material (4), and a structure (103) that blocks viruses from passing through the mask material (4) from the mouth and exiting the mask part (4), and a space (15) between the mask part (4) and the transparent or opaque body (1, 102, 103) that creates a chimney effect and raises the airflow (11) to prevent viruses from entering the mouth, nose, and eyes.

The ninth embodiment of the present invention is an embodiment of the present invention in which a material that does not attract lipstick, such as tetrafluoroethylene, is attached to the portion 7 of the mask 4 to which a transparent or opaque body 101 is attached, which contacts the lips, as shown in FIG. 8. (A) is a back view (seen from the side that contacts the face), and (B) is a side cross-sectional view. The material 7 that does not attract lipstick is, for example, a fluororesin tape with a width of 20 to 50 mm and a length of 50 to 150 mm, which is attached to the inside of the mask 4. According to an experiment, it is preferable to attach a tape with a width of 25 mm or 38 mm and a length of 55 to 95 mm. The lipstick-resistant material 7 is not limited to tetrafluoroethylene, but may be a fluororesin-coated material, vinyl, a fluorine-impregnated material, or a smooth tape with a surface roughness of 5 nmRa or less. Although tetrafluoroethylene, etc. is mentioned above, an example of this "etc." is a nonwoven fabric or cloth without an adhesive. An adhesive or a hook-and-loop fastener or other adhesive portion may be provided on this. In the case of a hook-and-loop fastener, the hook-and-loop fastener may also be provided on the mask. This can be discarded after each use and replaced with a new one, or washed and reused. The size of the nonwoven fabric or cloth is preferably 87 mm length by 150 mm width or 90 mm length by 160 mm width.
Furthermore, the lipstick-resistant material 7 may be die-cut in advance, or a plurality of sheets may be carried without a liner attached, and attached to the mask 4 as required.

The multiple intermittent adhesive parts are the same as the adhesives of (A) and (B). Air holes are provided to provide a chimney effect, allowing the body to be attached and preventing peeling.

According to the 14th and 15th embodiments of the present invention, the invention can be carried anywhere, is light and unobtrusive, can be taken out and quickly attached to a mask that one already has, and is effective in protecting the eyes from the new coronavirus.

The 16th and 17th embodiments of the present invention are, as shown in Fig. 13, a film plate characterized by a film or plate-like transparent body 101 that is approximately twice the size of a mask and has an adhesive part 2 provided at its approximately central portion (at approximately 1/2 the height), and can be attached to a mask owned by the user. The transparent body 101 is large enough to be attached at its center to the upper end of a known mask and to cover the lower end. The specific size is, for example, about 150 mm to 200 mm in width, about 160 mm to 240 mm in height, and 50 to 200 microns in thickness, and is preferably treated with anti-fog and anti-glare treatments and antibacterial, disinfecting, and sterilizing treatments such as silver coating.

First, place a known mask flat, place the film plate of the present invention on it, peel off the white liner on the adhesive part of the film plate of the present invention, and attach the adhesive parts of both ends of the film plate of the present invention to the mask, for example, at the center of the top and bottom of both ends of the known mask, and use it by hanging it on the ears with the ear loops attached to the known mask. Then, the mask case is made by sandwiching the front and back of the mask with the film plate of the present invention. In this case, hold the film plate of the present invention as shown in Figure 21 (B) without folding it forcibly.

The effects of the 16th, 17th, 21st and 27th to 31st embodiments of the present invention, which have transparent film plates 101 attached to masks and are worn by a person as shown in FIG. 21(A), and the differences from known masks such as nonwoven masks, are summarized below.
(1) The present invention blocks the novel coronavirus from entering from the outside and prevents infection with the novel coronavirus, but all known masks allow the novel coronavirus to pass through, making it possible to become infected.
(2) The present invention blocks the COVID-19 virus from coming out of the mouth and prevents others from becoming infected with the COVID-19 virus, but all known masks allow the COVID-19 virus to pass through, making people infected.
(3) The present invention prevents contamination of the mask, whereas all known masks become contaminated.
(4) The present invention blocks the COVID-19 novel coronavirus from the eyes and prevents infection with the COVID-19 novel coronavirus, but all known masks allow infection.
(5) The present invention blocks the novel coronavirus and prevents infection with the novel coronavirus even when worn as a “nose-open mask,” but all known masks allow infection.
(6) The present invention provides a protective case for masks. It is convenient to carry, but all known masks are susceptible to contamination when carrying the mask.
(7) A chimney effect occurs in the space between the mask and the film plate of the present invention, causing airflow to rise, preventing the virus from entering and infecting through the mouth, nose, and eyes. With all conventional masks, infection occurs through the eyes.
(8) If the film plate of the present invention is used, a transparent partition plate becomes unnecessary.
This has the above-mentioned effects and is different from known masks.

Figure 22 is a graph comparing the amount of particles passing through no mask, masks made of known materials such as a urethane mask, a nonwoven fabric mask, and a medical surgical mask, masks of the present invention shown in Figure 21 with the film plate 101 of the present invention covering the mouth, nose, and eyes shown in Examples 16, 17, 21, and 27 to 31, and masks of the present invention shown in Figure 20 with the film plate 105 of the present invention covering the mouth and nose shown in Examples 23 to 26. This test was conducted by the RIKEN and Fugaku, and compares fine particles such as smoke. The urethane mask has the same permeability as no mask, and nonwoven fabric and medical masks also permeate. However, the film plate of the present invention has the effect of not allowing any particles to pass through.
