In the second crotch portion 3, a water absorbing layer 31 and a waterproof layer 33 are arranged in order from the inside. In this embodiment, a water retaining layer 32 is further arranged between the water absorbing layer 31 and the waterproof layer 33. Liquid expelled from the body is absorbed by the water absorption layer 31 and further absorbed by the water retention layer 32. The absorbed liquid is retained in the water retaining layer 32 because the waterproof layer 33 prevents the absorbed liquid from moving from the water retaining layer 32 to the crotch portion 23 side.

As the water-absorbing layer 31, a fabric such as a knitted fabric or a woven fabric having water-absorbing properties can be used. From the viewpoint of feel to the touch, fabrics that are smooth and have flexibility and stretch, such as cotton jersey, are preferred. The material of the water absorption layer 31 is not particularly limited, and may be synthetic fibers such as polyester, or natural fibers such as cotton.

As the water-retaining layer 32, a nonwoven fabric or the like having water-absorbing and water-retaining properties can be used. As the material for the water-retaining layer 32, it is preferable to use super-absorbent fibers, which absorb water faster and absorb more water than ordinary fibers such as polyester. The nonwoven fabric may be formed from mixed fibers such as acrylic fibers and polyester fibers.

The thickness of the water retaining layer 32 can be determined depending on the amount of water absorbed by the second crotch portion 3 and the like. From the viewpoint of water retention, the thickness of the water retention layer 32 is preferably 0.5 mm or more, more preferably 1.5 mm or more. From the viewpoint of reducing discomfort when worn, the thickness is preferably 10 mm or less, more preferably 7 mm or less, and even more preferably 4 mm or less.

The waterproof layer 33 preferably has not only waterproof properties but also moisture permeability from the viewpoint of preventing stuffiness.

In the waterproof layer 33 of this embodiment, a nonwoven fabric 332 similar to the water retaining layer 32 is laminated inside a resin film 331 having waterproofness and water permeability. Since the waterproof layer 33 also has water absorption and water retention properties, the amount of water absorbed by the second crotch portion 3 can be increased.

In the second crotch portion 3, a pad holding layer 34 is further arranged as the outermost layer outside the waterproof layer 33. The adhesive surface C3 of the wing C2 of the absorbent pad C is attached to the outermost pad holding layer 34.

The pad holding layer 34 has lower adhesiveness to the adhesive surface C3 of the absorbent pad C than the waterproof layer 33, and allows the absorbent pad C to be easily removed. As such a pad holding layer 34, a woven fabric with a smooth surface can be used.

As described above, the waterproof layer 33 using a waterproof resin film or the like has relatively high adhesiveness with the adhesive used on the adhesive surface C3 of the water absorbent pad C. However, by interposing the pad holding layer 34 between the waterproof layer 33 and the absorbent pad C, the adhesive surface C can be peeled off with a small peeling force, and the absorbent pad C can be easily attached and detached.

The above-described woven fabric with a smooth surface has a lower adhesiveness to the adhesive surface C3 of the pad holding layer 34 than the stretchable fabric used for the shorts body 1 or the crotch portion 23, and the adhesive surface C3 is easily peeled off. Therefore, the fabric of the pad holding layer 34 is less likely to sag or become fluffy due to the peeling force.

It is preferable that each layer of the second crotch portion 3 has antibacterial or antibacterial properties. In particular, it is preferable that the water absorption layer 31 in contact with the skin and the water retention layer 32 that retains liquid have antibacterial or antibacterial properties. The water-absorbing layer 31 and the water-retaining layer 32 are sewn in a ring shape from the outer periphery of the second crotch portion 3 to the center of the second crotch portion 3 using a water-repellent thread, and a stitch 63 is provided thereon. The water retaining layer 32 has an area smaller than the entire area of the second crotch part 3 and is arranged at the center of the second crotch part 3. The stitches 61 and 62 on the outer periphery and the stitch 63 on the center side make it possible to provide a double wall of water-repellent yarn penetrating in the thickness direction. The liquid adheres to the vicinity of the center of the second crotch portion 3, is absorbed by each layer, and spreads toward the outer periphery, but this spread can be blocked in stages by the double wall. The water-repellent thread is not particularly limited, and threads made of a water-repellent resin, threads coated with a water-repellent resin, and the like can be used. As described above, according to this embodiment, the second crotch part 3 is provided inside the crotch part 23 of the shorts main body 2. The second crotch portion 3 is an absorbent member with a multilayer structure.

Even when the absorbent pad C is not attached and there is an unexpected discharge, the second crotch portion 3 can sufficiently absorb liquids such as menstrual blood and urine. Therefore, leakage from the shorts 1 can be suppressed and staining of clothing can be avoided.

Further, the second crotch portion 3 can be fitted with an absorbent pad C around the periphery, and has a pad holding layer 34 as the outermost layer. Since the pad holding layer 34 can easily peel off the adhesive surface C3 of the absorbent pad C, it is possible to provide the shorts 1 in which the absorbent pad C can be easily attached and removed.

Even when the absorbent pad C is worn, liquid leaking from the absorbent pad C is retained in the second crotch portion 3 and does not spread over the entire shorts 1. Therefore, it is possible to provide shorts 1 that can be worn comfortably without staining clothes and the body.

The second crotch portion 3, which is made of fabric such as knitted fabric, woven fabric, or non-woven fabric instead of polymer, can be washed, and the shorts 1 can be used repeatedly.
