Description
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to an auricle cutting tool for excising or cutting a part of the auricle of an animal such as a cat.
その中でも、猫における活動の主体は、TNR(Trap-Neuter-Release)と呼ばれ、不必要な繁殖を防ぐために、
In recent years, from the viewpoint of animal welfare, various activities have been attempted to reduce the culling of dogs and cats at public health centers. Among them, the main activity in cats is called TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release), and in order to prevent unnecessary breeding,
a, Capturing stray cats (T),
b. Neutralization by spaying/neutering at a veterinary hospital and excision of auricles for marking (N),
c, release to original location (R),
A series of activities such as
With the spread of such TNR activities, the number of stray cats culled has drastically decreased compared to the past, as shown in Figure 4. Figure 4 is data quoted from the Animal Welfare Management Office data of the Ministry of the Environment, where the horizontal axis indicates the year and the vertical axis indicates the number of dogs and cats culled. In addition, in response to the stray cat problem, which is often talked about, such as abnormal breeding, fecal odor, scavenging, and barking, we recognize that animals are living things, and instead of killing them, we adopt the Animal Welfare and Management Act. In accordance with this principle, some governments have established subsidy systems to actively promote contraception and neutering of stray cats. Considering that most of the cats that are culled are kittens born from feral cats, TNR activity is considered to have contributed greatly to the reduction in the number of culled cats.
There are four reasons why cats are believed to have a higher reproductive rate than other animals such as dogs.
(1) Cats are mating ovulators, so the pregnancy rate is high Female cats ovulate when stimulated by male cats to mate, so the fertilization rate after a single mating is very high at about 90%. In addition, due to the large number of ovulations, the number of kittens born per birth is extremely high, averaging 4 to 8.
(2) Cats have a short gestation period Female cats have an average gestation period of 63 days (approximately 2 months), so they can give birth two to three times a year and are 5 to 7 years old on average. Repeat childbirth until about
(3) Short time to sexual maturity of kittens Female kittens reach sexual maturity, and the period until they can give birth is as fast as 5 to 6 months after birth. In male cats, estrus begins at 5 to 6 months after birth, which is very early as in female cats.
(4) There are environmental factors in Japan, such as global warming, which is an environment that is advantageous for cats to breed. Also, unlike the previous developing era, Japanese people's sense of cats has changed from "creatures" to "pet animals", and in the trend of "poor" and "cat boom", stray cats are carelessly treated. More and more people are feeding them. For this reason, although natural selection is supposed to maintain a certain number of individuals, it is also a cause that the nutritional state becomes better and contributes to breeding.
From these points, it is recognized that the TNR activity described above is extremely effective in reducing the number of cats culled.
By the way, in the TNR activities, as described above, contraception/neutering and auricle removal are performed at animal hospitals. The reason why stray cats are spayed or neutered is to remove the tips of their ears in a V shape (commonly known as "Sakuramimi") to prevent them from being recaptured or opened again after being released. Auricle resection is performed as a mark indicating this.
FIG. 5 shows the procedure for conventional auricle resection. Cat CA is under anesthesia after surgery such as contraception, and as shown in FIG. The ear CB is pinched and compressed with
Background art for cutting the ear of an animal includes, for example, "Apparatus for Collecting Tissue from Rodent Animals" described in Patent Document 1 below. The purpose of this is to facilitate the collection of tissues from the tails and ears of rodents such as mice without contamination with other individual tissues. , in a state in which the tissue-collecting site of the rodent is supported in a spaced manner so that it can be inserted, the cutting blade is made to move relative to cut the inserted tissue-collecting site, and the cut tissue-collecting site is placed in the container. It is designed to accommodate.
However, the conventional method shown in FIG. 5 has the following problems.
(1) There is physical stress on the animal side, and there is mental stress on the human side. That is, even under anesthesia, most of the time, the treatment of the tip of the ear is painful, and the animal feels some pain and responds to painful stimuli. In addition to feeling pain when pinched with forceps, cartilage is an elastic tissue, so it is somewhat difficult to excise with surgical scissors, and if the treatment is difficult, the animal feels more pain, and the human psychology. It seems that it is also complicit in the stress. In addition, bleeding may occur when the forceps are released after resection and hemostasis, and further pain may be experienced when the forceps are used again to stop bleeding.
(2) It is desired to shorten the time for TNR. Due to the high breeding rate of stray cats, if TNR activities are carried out in the area, it is necessary to operate every single stray cat in the area. For this reason, the number of operations performed on a single day ranges from several to several tens of animals, and it is necessary not only to shorten the overall operation time but also to shorten the time required for auricle resection itself. Since TNR specialty hospitals perform more surgeries, there is a further demand for shortening the treatment time.
The present invention focuses on the above points, and aims to alleviate stress in both animals and humans and to shorten the treatment time in TNR.

According to the present invention, the hemostasis operation of the ear with forceps and the subsequent excision operation of the ear with the excision blade can be performed with simple operations. Time can be shortened well.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION The best mode for carrying out the present invention will now be described in detail based on examples.
An embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIG. , and a
One end of the
FIG. 3(A) shows a main cross section viewed in the direction of the arrow along line #3-#3 of FIG. 2(A). are provided. The
In this manner, the
By the way, in this embodiment, the
Next, the operation of the above embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3 as well. The cat CA whose ear CB is to be removed is under anesthesia due to surgery such as contraception. The veterinarian performing the treatment holds the
When the
As described above, this embodiment has the following effects.
a. Hemostasis and excision can be performed by a simple operation in a short time, and the treatment time is short. Therefore, auricle resection for many cats can be efficiently performed in a short time.
b. It is easy to operate and reduces stress not only on cats but also on humans.
The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. For example:
(1) The shape and structure described above are examples, and any structure may be used as long as it has a means for stopping bleeding using forceps and a means for cutting the auricle after stopping bleeding.
(2) Although the above embodiments apply the present invention to excision of the auricle of cats, this does not preclude the application of the present invention to animals other than cats, such as dogs. Also, the shape of the cut may be an appropriate shape other than the V shape, and the cut may be made at a plurality of locations.
