Description

本発明は、ProSe(Proximity based Services)における、ロケーションの変化に応じたセキュリティ管理に関する。
3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project)は、商業及びパブリックセーフティの双方での使用のために、ProSeの検討を開始した。
ProSe通信は、近接しているUE(複数のユーザ装置)に対して、eNB(evolved Node B)を経由して又はeNBを経由せずに、サービスを提供することができる。UEが互いに近接している場合、UEは、“direct mode”パス又は“locally-routed”パスを使用することができる。“direct mode”パスは、UE間のダイレクトリンクを介して通信が行われることを意味する。“locally-routed”パスは、UEが同じeNBの配下にいる場合にeNBを介して通信が行われることを意味する(例えば、非特許文献1参照)。

UEがProSeサービスを使用する一方で、それらのUEの幾つか又は全ては、異なるロケーションに移動する可能性がある。そのため、本願の発明者等は、ProSeサービスを提供する時に、以下の問題があることを見出した。
1)未だに近接しているUEのために、ProSeサービスを維持すると共に、ProSeサービスのセキュリティを確保すること
2)ProSeサービスの近接範囲の範囲外に移動したUEが、確立されたセキュリティコンテキストを再使用することを防止すること
現時点では、3GPP仕様書には何らの解決策も存在しない。非特許文献2は、GMLC(Gateway Mobile Location Centre)が、ProSe通信をサポートするProSeサーバに対して、UEのロケーション情報を転送可能であることを、単に開示しているだけであることに留意すべきである。
そのため、本発明の例示的な目的は、ProSe通信のセキュリティを効率的に管理するための解決策を提供することにある。
上述の目的を達成するために、本発明の第1の態様によるサーバは、相互にダイレクト通信を行うためにグループ化されたUE(複数のユーザ装置)のロケーションをモニターするモニター手段と、前記ロケーションに基づいて、前記ダイレクト通信のセキュリティを管理する管理手段と、を含む。
さらに、本発明の第2の態様によるUEは、相互にダイレクト通信を行うために他のUEとグループ化されている。このUEは、サーバからの指示であって、前記サーバが、前記他のUEのうちの1以上のUEが前記グループの範囲の範囲外に移動したことを検出した場合に発行する前記サーバからの指示の受信に応じて、前記ダイレクト通信に使用されるセッションキーをアップデートするアップデート手段と、残りのUEに対し、前記セッションキーをアップデートするようリクエストするリクエスト手段と、を含む。
さらに、本発明の第3の態様によるUEは、相互にダイレクト通信を行うために他のUEとグループ化されている。このUEは、サーバからの指示であって、前記サーバが、前記UEが前記グループの範囲の範囲外に移動したことを検出した場合に発行する前記サーバからの指示の受信に応じて、前記ダイレクト通信に使用されるセッションキーを除去する除去手段を含む。
さらに、本発明の第4の態様による通信システムは、相互にダイレクト通信を行うためにグループ化された複数のUEと、前記複数のUEのロケーションをモニターし、前記ロケーションに基づいて、前記ダイレクト通信のセキュリティを管理するサーバと、を含む。
さらに、本発明の第5の態様による方法は、サーバにおける動作を制御する方法を提供する。この方法は、相互にダイレクト通信を行うためにグループ化されたUEのロケーションをモニターすることと、前記ロケーションに基づいて、前記ダイレクト通信のセキュリティを管理することと、を含む。
さらに、本発明の第6の態様による方法は、相互にダイレクト通信を行うために他のUEとグループ化されたUEにおける動作を制御する方法を提供する。この方法は、サーバからの指示であって、前記サーバが、前記他のUEのうちの1以上のUEが前記グループの範囲の範囲外に移動したことを検出した場合に発行する前記サーバからの指示の受信に応じて、前記ダイレクト通信に使用されるセッションキーをアップデートすることと、残りのUEに対し、前記セッションキーをアップデートするようリクエストすることと、を含む。
さらに、本発明の第7の態様による方法は、相互にダイレクト通信を行うために他のUEとグループ化されたUEにおける動作を制御する方法を提供する。この方法は、サーバからの指示であって、前記サーバが、前記UEが前記グループの範囲の範囲外に移動したことを検出した場合に発行する前記サーバからの指示の受信に応じて、前記ダイレクト通信に使用されるセッションキーを除去することを含む。
本発明によれば、上述の問題を解決し、ProSe通信のセキュリティを効率的に管理するための解決策を提供することができる。

以下、本発明によるサーバ及びUE、これらサーバ及びUEが適用される通信システムの例示的な実施の形態について、添付図面を参照して説明する。
図1に示されるように、本実施の形態による通信システムは、複数のUE10_1~10_n(以下、まとめて符号10で呼ぶことがある)と、ProSeサーバ20と、E-UTRAN(Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network)30と、EPC(Evolved Packet Core)40と、を含む。E-UTRAN30は、1以上のeNB(不図示)によって構成される。EPC40は、ネットワークノードとして、UE10_1~10_nの移動を管理するMME(Mobility Management Entity)41と、UE10_1~10_nのロケーション情報を保存するGMLC42と、を含む。
UE10は、E-UTRAN30を介してEPC40にアタッチし、典型的なUEとして機能する。さらに、UE10は、上述の“direct mode”パスを使用し、ProSe通信を行う。UE10は、上述の“locally-routed”パスを使用してもよいことに留意すべきである。
ProSeサーバ20は、GMLC42と通信して、UE10のロケーション情報をモニターすることができる。さらに、後述のように、ProSeサーバ20は、ロケーション情報に基づいて、ProSe通信のセキュリティを管理する。
続いて、本実施の形態の動作例を、図2~図7を参照して詳細に説明する。ProSeサーバ20及びUE10の構成例は、図8及び図9を参照して後述されることに留意すべきである。
本実施の形態においては、ProSeサービスがUE10_1~10_nのグループのために使用され、セキュリティコンテキストが確立されていると仮定する。ロケーションの変化が生じるシナリオとしては、以下が考えられる。
1)いずれのUEのロケーションも変化しない(以下、ケース1と呼ぶ)
2)全てのUEのロケーションが変化するが、予め決められた距離内で相互に近接している状態に留まっている(以下、ケース2と呼ぶ)
3)1以上のUE(旅行者)が他のUEとの近接位置の範囲外に移動し、ProSeサービスを使用しない(以下、ケース3と呼ぶ)
4)1以上のUEがUEとの近接位置の範囲外に移動し、旅行者の間でProSeサービスを維持することを望んでいる(以下、ケース4と呼ぶ)
UE10_1~10_nが移動したかどうかを知るために、ProSeサーバ20は、UEのためにアクティブ化された場合に、周期的に、GMLC42に対し、UE10_1~10_nのロケーション情報を送信するようリクエストすることができる。ProSeサーバ20は、UE10_1~10_nのグループメンバーのロケーションを受信する度に、そのロケーションを、ProSeサーバ20が保存している以前のロケーション情報と比較する。
さらに、UE10_1~10_nの1つがグループのグループマネージャとして機能すると仮定する。グループマネージャのロケーションは、他のUEが近接しているかどうかを決定するために、座標の原点(Origin of the coordinate)となる。
<ケース1の動作>
GMLC42から送信されたロケーション情報が以前のロケーション情報と同じである場合、ProSeサーバ20は、グループのロケーションが変化しておらず、グループ管理又はセキュリティをアップデートする必要がないと決定する。
<ケース2の動作>
GMLC42から送信されたロケーション情報が、図2に示されたUE10_1~10_5の全てのロケーションが変化していることを示すが、グループマネージャに対して同じ範囲に留まっている場合、ロケーションの変化に従ってグループ管理又はセキュリティをアップデートする必要はない。しかし、全てのメンバーは、異なるロケーションにいる場合でも一般的には、キーをアップデートすることができる。
<ケース3の動作>
GMLC42から送信されたロケーション情報が、図3に示されるように、幾つかのUE10_4及び10_5が近接範囲の範囲外に移動し、移動したUE10_4及び10_5がProSeサービスを望まないか又は維持することができない場合、グループ及びセキュリティ管理をアップデートする必要がある。
<ケース4の動作>
GMLC42から送信されたロケーション情報が、図4に示されるように、幾つかのUE10_4及び10_5が近接範囲の範囲外に移動し、旅行者であるUE10_4及び10_5がそれら自身の間でProSeサービスを維持することを望んでいる場合、グループ及びセキュリティ管理をアップデートする必要がある。
以下の2つのシナリオにおいて、ケース3及びケース4の動作の詳細が説明される。双方のケースにおいて、UE10_1がグループマネージャであり、UE10_3及び10_4がグループを離脱すると仮定する。
1.ケース3のグループ及びセキュリティ管理
UE10_1~10_5が同じProSeグループであったと仮定する。UE10_3及び10_4は、UE10_1,10_2,10_5のいずれとも近接していない。ProSeサーバ20は、UE10_3及び10_4の能力及びProSeサービスのポリシに従って、UE10_3及び10_4がProSeサービスを使用しないと決定する。ProSeサーバ20は、グループの残りのUE10_1,10_2,10_5に対し、UE10_3及び10_4がグループを離脱し、ProSeサービスをこれ以上利用しないことを知らせる。
グループ及びセキュリティ管理は、グループが一時的又は専門的(temporary or dedicated)である場合は異なる。
グループが一時的であるか、又は、UE10_3及び10_4が一時的なメンバーである場合、そのグループは、UE10_3及び10_4が元に戻ってProSeを再開することを期待しない。グループに加入するいかなるのUEも、新たなメンバーとみなされる。キーが再使用されることを防止するために、残りのグループメンバーのUEは、新たなセッションキーが必要になる。UE10_3及び10_4は、セッションキーを除去する。セッションキーは、秘密及び完全性キーのペアである。
一方、グループが専門的であるか、又は、UE10_3及び10_4が専門的なメンバーである場合、UE10_3及び10_4がグループに戻る可能性はある。グループマネージャは、ある時間期間の経過後に、グループ及びセキュリティ管理をアップデートすると決定することができる。この処理は、UE10_3及び10_4がグループを離脱したことをグループマネージャが示した後に、タイマーを開始することによって行われる。UE10_3及び10_4は、グループに戻らない場合は、上記時間期間の経過後に、セッションキーを除去する。これにより、UE10_3及び10_4が、ネットワーク認証を行うことなく、ダイレクトディスカバリー及び通信を実行するために、キーを使用することが防止される。
一時的なケースにおいては、図5に示されるように、GMLC42は、以下の一般的な手順により、UEロケーション情報を取得する(ステップS11)。
続いて、GMLC42は、グループID、UEのID、ロケーション、及び、そのロケーションが検出された時の時間を含むUEロケーション情報を、ProSeサーバ20に提供する(ステップS12)。この処理は、ネットワーク及び/又はグループ設定に従って、周期的に行うことができる。
ProSeサーバ20は、現在のロケーションを以前のロケーションと比較して、UEがグループ範囲の範囲外に移動したかどうかを決定する(ステップS13)。
ProSeサーバ20は、UE10_3及び10_4がグループ範囲の範囲外に移動したことを検出した場合、UE10_3及び10_4のID、グループID、及びグループの残りのステータスを示すStatus Updateを、グループマネージャのUE10_1に送信する(ステップS14)。
また、ProSeサーバ20は、それらのID(UE10_3及び10_4のID)、グループID、及び範囲外のステータスを含むStatus Updateを、UE10_3及び10_4に送信する(ステップS15)。
UE10_3及び10_4は、セッションキーを除去する(ステップS16)。
UE10_3及び10_4は、セッションキーを除去したことを、オプション的に、ProSeサーバ20にレポートする(ステップS17)。
グループマネージャのUE10_1は、キーKpの中から新たなセッションキーを導出する(ステップS18)。キーKpは、グループに関連付けられるキーであり、ProSeサーバ20に関連付けられてもよい。
グループマネージャのUE10_1は、Update session key requestを、残りのグループメンバーに送信する(ステップS19)。ここでは、残りのメンバーは、UE10_2及び10_5である。上記リクエストは、アルゴリズム、キーKpに関連付けられるインジケータKSI(Key Set Identifier)_p、及びセッションキー導出のための他のパラメータを含む。このメッセージは、現在のセッションキーによって秘密性が保持されると共に、完全性が保護される。
残りのメンバーのUE10_2及び10_5は、それぞれ独立に、新たなセッションキーを導出する(ステップS20)。
UE10_2及び10_5は、Update session key Ack(Acknowledge)を、グループマネージャのUE10_1に送信する(ステップS21)。このメッセージは、新たなセッションキーによって秘密性が保持されると共に、完全性が保護される。
専門的なケースにおいては、図6に示されるように、現在のセッションキーがアクティブ化された場合に、タイマーがセットされ、専門的なグループメンバーに割り当てられる(ステップS31)。
ステップS32~S36は、図5に示されるS11~S15と同じである。
UE10_3及び10_4が範囲外になったことを示すインジケーションをUEが受信した場合に、タイマーが開始される。セッションキーはタイマーが満了するまで維持される(ステップS37)。
タイマーが満了した場合、UE10_3及び10_4は、セッションキーを除去する(ステップS38)。
UE10_3及び10_4は、セッションキーを除去したことを、オプション的に、ProSeサーバ20にレポートする(ステップS39)。
ステップS37でタイマーが満了した場合、グループマネージャのUE10_1は、キーKpの中から新たなセッションキーを導出する(ステップS40)。
ステップS41~S43は、図5に示されるS19~S21と同じである。
Status Updateメッセージは、秘密性が保持されると共に、完全性が保護される。
2.ケース4のグループ及びセキュリティ管理
UE10_1~10_5が同じProSeグループであったと仮定する。UE10_3及び10_4は、UE10_1,10_2,10_5のいずれとも近接していない。UE10_3及び10_4は、それらの間でProSeサービスを使用する予定である。ProSeサーバ20は、グループの残りのUEに対し、UE10_3及び10_4がグループを離脱したことを知らせる。また、ProSeサーバ20は、UE10_3及び10_4に対し、それらが以前のグループからは範囲外にいることを知らせる。ProSeサーバ20は、UE10_3及び10_4がProSeサービスを相互に未だに使用可能であると決定することができる。
UE10_3及び10_4が通信を維持する2つの方法がある:1)新たなグループIDで新たなグループを生成し、新たなセッションキーを導出することができる;2)同じグループIDを使用するが、セッションキーを変更することができる。第1ケースは図7に描画され、第2ケースの図面は省略されている。
図7に示されるように、GLMC42は、UEロケーション情報を取得する(ステップS51)。
続いて、GMLC42は、グループID、UEのID、ロケーション、及び、そのロケーションが検出された時の時間を含むUEロケーション情報を、ProSeサーバ20に供給する(ステップS52)。この処理は、ネットワーク及び/又はグループ設定に従って、周期的に行うことができる。
ProSeサーバ20は、現在のロケーションを以前のロケーションと比較して、UEがグループ範囲の範囲外に移動したかどうかを決定する(ステップS53)。
ProSeサーバ20は、UE10_3及び10_4がグループ範囲の範囲外に移動したことを検出した場合、UE10_3及び10_4のID、グループID、及びグループの残りのステータスを示すStatus Updateを、グループマネージャのUE10_1に送信する(ステップS54)。
また、ProSeサーバ20は、それらのID(UE10_3及び10_4のID)、グループID、及び範囲外のステータスを含むStatus Updateを、UE10_3及び10_4に送信する(ステップS55)。
UE10_3及び10_4は、他のUEのID、サービスIDを含むProSe Service Continue Requestを送信することによって、相互にProSeサービスを継続することをリクエストする(ステップS56)。
ProSeサーバ20は、UE10_3及び10_4がProSeサービスを継続することを許可されているかどうかの検証を行い、続いて新たなKpを導出する(ステップS57)。
ProSeサーバ20は、UE10_3及び10_4のUE ID、サービスID、Kp、及び新たなグループIDを含むProSe Service Continue Responseを、UE10_3及び10_4に送信する(ステップS58)。
UE10_3及び10_4は、受信したKpからセッションキーを導出する(ステップS59)。
UE10_3及び10_4は、セッションキーを使用して、グループ通信を継続する(ステップS60)。
UE10_1及び他の残りのグループメンバーUE10_2及び10_5は、ケース3と同様に、セッションキーをアップデートする(ステップS61)。
Status Update、ProSe Service Continue Request、及びProSe Service Continue Responseメッセージは、秘密性が保持されると共に、完全性が保護される。
3.ロケーション情報の検証
GMLC42は、ロケーション情報をProSeサーバ20に送信することができる:
1)周期的に送信。既定のグループ及び/又はサービスのために、ProSeサーバ20がその頻度を設定することができる;
2)MME/SGSNからレポートを受信する任意の時間に送信。;及び
3)ProSeサーバのリクエストで送信。
ロケーション情報は、全てのグループメンバーのロケーション情報、グループID、UEのID、各UEのロケーションを含む。ProSeサーバ20は以前のロケーション情報を保存する。
現在のロケーション情報を受信した後、ProSeサーバ20は、以前のロケーションと現在のロケーションとを比較すると共に、メンバーのUEロケーション情報をグループマネージャのロケーションと比較して、UEが未だ範囲内にいるかどうかを確認する。このことは、UEがグループ範囲の範囲内にいるかどうかを決定するために、グループマネージャのロケーションを原点(origin)として使用することを意味する。
本実施の形態によれば、例えば、以下の有利な効果(1)~(4)を得ることができる。
(1)ProSサーバは、グループ管理をサポートすることができ、UEが未だ近接しているかどうかをUEに示すことができる。
(2)グループマネージャは、グループメンバーのステータスに応じて、新たなセッションキーを導出するか、又は、現在のセッションキーを維持するかどうかを決定することができる。これにより、セッションキーが悪意で再使用されることを防止することができる。
(3)グループマネージャは、セッションキーをアップデートし、他の残りのグループメンバーに同じことをするよう指示することができる。
(4)グループ範囲の範囲外に移動したUEは、ProSeサーバのサポートを受けてProSeサービスの使用を継続することができる。
続いて、図8及び図9を参照して、本実施の形態によるProSeサーバ20及びUE10の構成例について説明する。
図8に示されるように、ProSeサーバ20は、モニターユニット21及び管理ユニット22を含む。モニターユニット21は、例えば、GMLC42から周期的にロケーション情報を取得することによって、図1に示されるUE10_1~10_nのロケーションをモニターする。管理ユニット22は、図5~図7に示されるように、ロケーションに基づいて、UE10_1~10_n間のProSe通信のセキュリティを管理する。これらのユニット21及び22は、バス等を介して相互に接続されていることに留意すべきである。これらのユニット21及び22は、例えば、E-UTRAN30及びEPC40を介してUE10_1~10_nと通信を行うトランシーバと、このトランシーバを制御するCPU(Central Processing Unit)等であるコントローラと、で構成することができる。
図9に示されるように、UE10は、グループマネージャとして機能する場合においては、アップデートユニット11及びリクエストユニット12を含む。アップデートユニット11は、ProSeサーバ20からのStatus Updateメッセージが、グループにおける1以上のUEがProSe通信の範囲の範囲外に移動したことを示している場合、そのStatus Updateメッセージに応答して、セッションキーをアップデートする。リクエストユニット12は、Update session key requestを残りのグループメンバーのUEに送信する。
ユニット11及び12の代わりに又は追加して、UE10は、除去ユニット13、リクエストユニット14、及び導出ユニット15を含むことができる。除去ユニット13は、ProSeサーバ20からのStatus Updateメッセージが、UE10自身がProSe通信の範囲の範囲外に移動したことを示している場合、そのStatus Updateメッセージに応答して、セッションキーを除去する。リクエストユニット14は、ProSeサーバ20へProSe Service Continue Requestを送信する。導出ユニット1は、ProSeサーバ20からProSe Service Continue Responseを受信した時に、新たなセッションキーを導出する。
これらユニット11~15は、バス等を介して相互に接続されていることに留意すべきである。これらユニット11~15は、例えば、E-UTRAN30及びEPC40を介してProSeサーバ20と通信を行うトランシーバと、このトランシーバを制御するCPU等であるコントローラと、で構成することができる。
本発明は上記実施形態に限定されものではなく、特許請求の範囲の記載に基づいて当業者が様々な変更をすることができることが明らかであることに留意すべきである。
上記実施形態の一部又は全部は、以下の付記のようにも記載されうるが、以下には限られない。
(付記1)
GMLCは、周期的に、又はMME/SGSNからレポートを受信した場合に、又はProSeサーバからのリクエストで、ProSeサーバへUEロケーション情報を送信する。
(付記2)
ProSeサーバは、UEの以前のロケーションを保存し、現在のロケーションを以前のロケーション及びグループマネージャのロケーションと比較して、グループメンバーのいずれかがグループ範囲の範囲外に移動したかどうかを決定する。
(付記3)
ProSeサーバは、グループマネージャ及び範囲外に移動したUEに対し、ロケーションに変化があったことを示す。
(付記4)
グループマネージャは、セッションキーをアップデートし、他の残りのメンバーに対し、Update session key requestを送信することによって同じことをするよう指示する。
(付記5)
専門的なメンバーのUEは、セッションキーに関連するタイマーであって、セッションキーが導出された場合に配備されるタイマーを備えることができる。タイマーは、UEが範囲外になった時点で開始し、UEは、タイマーが満了するまでセッションキーを維持することができる。
(付記6)
グループ範囲の範囲外に移動したUEは、ProSe Service Continue Requestを送信することによって、相互にProSeサービスを継続することを要求する。
(付記7)
ProSeサーバは、ProSe Service Continue Responseを送信することによって、上記UEが相互にProSeサービスを継続可能であるかどうかを決定する。

Claims (9)

  1. 複数の端末と、ロケーション管理装置と、を含むモバイル通信システムのサーバであって、
    前記ロケーション管理装置から、前記複数の端末の位置に基づく第1の情報を受信する受信手段と、
    前記第1の情報を受信した場合に、前記複数の端末に関してグループを生成する生成手段と、
    前記生成の結果を示す情報とグループIDを含むメッセージを、前記複数の端末に含まれる第1の端末に送信する送信手段と、
    を有する、サーバ。
  2. 前記第1の端末は、前記グループを管理する端末である、
    請求項1に記載のサーバ。
  3. ロケーション管理装置とサーバを含むモバイル通信システムにおける複数の端末の一端末であって、
    前記ロケーション管理装置から前記複数の端末の位置に基づく第1の情報を受信した場合に前記複数の端末に関してグループを生成する前記サーバから、記生成の結果を示す情報とグループIDを含むメッセージを受信する手段を有する、端末。
  4. 前記端末は、前記グループを管理する端末である、
    請求項3に記載の端末。
  5. 複数の端末と、ロケーション管理装置と、を含むモバイル通信システムのサーバの方法であって、
    前記ロケーション管理装置から、前記複数の端末の位置に基づく第1の情報を受信し、
    前記第1の情報を受信した場合に、前記複数の端末に関してグループを生成し、
    前記生成の結果を示す情報とグループIDを含むメッセージを、前記複数の端末に含まれる第1の端末に送信する、
    サーバの方法。
  6. 前記第1の端末は、前記グループを管理する端末である、
    請求項5に記載のサーバの方法。
  7. ロケーション管理装置とサーバを含むモバイル通信システムにおける複数の端末の一端末の方法であって、
    前記ロケーション管理装置から前記複数の端末の位置に基づく第1の情報を受信した場合に前記複数の端末に関してグループを生成する前記サーバから、前記生成の結果を示す情報とグループIDを含むメッセージを受信する、
    端末の方法。
  8. 前記端末は、前記グループを管理する端末である、

  9. 前記グループを生成した場合に、前記メッセージを前記第1の端末に送信する、
