Description
The present invention relates to humidifiers.
Prevention of infectious diseases such as viruses is a very important issue in sickrooms and cafeteria facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes. In recent years, humidifiers have been used in many facilities, but it has been reported that if the tank water in the humidifier is left unattended, biofilms will form, and the risk of these biofilms becoming a breeding ground for Legionnaires' disease has been reported. In particular, since ultrasonic humidifiers do not involve heating, the risk of becoming a breeding ground for Legionnaires' disease is relatively high. In that case, bacteria and the like are sprayed to the outside together with the water atomized by the ultrasonic vibrator. Therefore, in ultrasonic humidifiers, daily water exchange and removal of biofilms are encouraged, but the burden of cleaning work is heavy.
On the other hand, in an ultrasonic humidifier, a method has been devised in which an ultraviolet lamp is arranged in an atomization tank that stores water to be atomized to sterilize the water in the tank (see Patent Document 1).
However, in the humidifier described above, a reservoir tank for storing supplied water is arranged at the bottom of the humidifier, and an atomization tank in which an atomizer such as an ultrasonic vibrator is arranged is above the reservoir tank. are placed. Therefore, a water supply pump is required to supply water from the reservoir tank to the atomization tank.
The present invention has been made in view of these problems, and one of its exemplary purposes is to provide a new technology that uses ultraviolet rays to reduce the risk of infections caused by humidifiers.
In order to solve the above problems, a humidifier according to one aspect of the present invention includes a water supply tank, a processing chamber disposed below the water supply tank, in which water supplied from the water supply tank is subjected to ultraviolet sterilization, and a treatment chamber. An ultraviolet irradiation unit for irradiating ultraviolet rays provided in the chamber, an atomization chamber to which water sterilized by ultraviolet rays is supplied in the treatment chamber, and an atomizer for atomizing water provided in the atomization chamber. and a control mechanism for controlling the flow of water supplied from the water supply tank to the atomization chamber through the treatment chamber.
According to this aspect, for example, even if a biofilm is formed in the water supply tank and bacteria, viruses, microorganisms, etc. (hereinafter referred to as "bacteria, etc.") proliferate, Sterilization is performed by irradiating water with ultraviolet rays. In addition, since the processing chamber including the UV irradiation unit is located below the water tank, when supplying water from the water tank to the processing chamber, the weight of the water itself can be used without a special power source such as a pump. It is possible, for example, the flow rate can be adjusted by adjusting the opening and closing of the electromagnetic valve.
The processing chamber has a volume smaller than that of the water supply tank. If the volume of the processing chamber is large, the time required for ultraviolet sterilization will be long, or the output of the ultraviolet irradiation unit will be large. Therefore, by reducing the volume of the processing chamber to some extent, it is possible to sterilize the water in the processing chamber in a relatively short time without using a high-output ultraviolet irradiation unit, and the water that has been sterilized with ultraviolet rays can be quickly removed. It can be supplied to the atomization chamber.
The processing chamber may be provided with a reflecting portion configured to reflect ultraviolet rays on the inner wall. As a result, the ultraviolet rays can be utilized for water sterilization without waste in the processing chamber.
The reflector may have a surface made of PTFE or Al. As a result, the ultraviolet rays are totally reflected, and the reflected ultraviolet rays as well as the ultraviolet rays emitted from the ultraviolet irradiation section can be used for sterilizing the water inside the processing chamber. In addition, when the surface of the reflecting portion is made of PTFE, biofilm is less likely to be formed, and deterioration of the inner wall of the processing chamber due to ultraviolet rays can be suppressed.
The ultraviolet irradiation section has an LED (Light Emitting Diode) that emits ultraviolet rays having a peak wavelength in the range of 250 to 300 nm, and the LED may be arranged at the bottom of the processing chamber. As a result, bacteria and the like can be efficiently inactivated.
The atomizer may further comprise a circuit board located at the bottom of the atomization chamber and having circuitry for controlling the LEDs and the atomizer mounted thereon. A circuit board may be positioned below the process chamber and the atomization chamber. By sharing the circuit board in this way, wiring and other circuit boards are not required.
The treatment chamber may have an outlet through which UV-sterilized water is supplied to the atomization chamber. The outflow port may be provided at a position higher than the bottom of the atomization chamber. As a result, water can be supplied from the processing chamber to the old by the weight of the water itself, and a driving source such as a pump is not required.
The atomizer may have an ultrasonic transducer that atomizes water as an aerosol. As a result, even a humidifier equipped with an atomizer that does not require heating can sufficiently sterilize bacteria and the like, and simplification of the device and reduction of power consumption can be realized.
Another aspect of the invention is also a humidifier. This humidifier includes a processing chamber in which water supplied from a water supply tank is subjected to ultraviolet sterilization, an ultraviolet irradiation unit provided in the processing chamber for irradiating ultraviolet rays, and a bottom portion of the processing chamber. An atomization chamber to which water sterilized by ultraviolet light is supplied in the treatment chamber, an atomizer provided in the atomization chamber for atomizing the water, and a path for the atomized water to go to the outside. , a control mechanism for controlling the flow of water supplied from a water supply tank to the atomization chamber through the processing chamber; and a water amount estimator for estimating the amount of water in the atomization chamber. A control mechanism controls the supply of water from the treatment chamber to the atomization chamber based on the estimated amount of water.
According to this aspect, for example, even if a biofilm is formed in the water supply tank and bacteria, viruses, microorganisms, etc. (hereinafter referred to as "bacteria, etc.") proliferate, Sterilization is performed by irradiating water with ultraviolet rays. In addition, since the atomization chamber is provided below the bottom of the processing chamber, when supplying the water sterilized with ultraviolet rays in the processing chamber to the atomization chamber, there is no need for a special power source such as a pump. The weight of water can be used, and the flow rate can be adjusted, for example, by adjusting the opening and closing of a solenoid valve.
Yet another aspect of the present invention is a humidifier control method. This method comprises the steps of supplying water from a water supply tank to a processing chamber located below the water supply tank, applying ultraviolet sterilization treatment to the water supplied to the processing chamber, and forming a mist provided with an atomizer. It includes the steps of supplying UV sterilized water to the atomization chamber and atomizing the water supplied to the atomization chamber. The bottom of the atomization chamber is lower than the bottom of the treatment chamber so that the UV sterilized water flows out of the treatment chamber under its own weight.
According to this aspect, when water is supplied from the water supply tank to the processing chamber arranged below the water supply tank, it is possible to supply water by its own weight without a special power source such as a pump. The flow rate can be adjusted by adjusting the opening and closing of the valve.
The step of applying ultraviolet sterilization treatment to water supplied to the treatment chamber may be performed by an LED that emits ultraviolet rays having a peak wavelength in the range of 250 to 300 nm. The LED may be controlled so that the output of the ultraviolet rays in the continuous use state of the humidifier is smaller than the output of the ultraviolet rays immediately after the operation of the humidifier is started.
Immediately after the humidifier starts operating, the amount of water in the atomization chamber is often less than the specified value, so it is necessary to immediately supply UV sterilized water to the atomization chamber, so the sterilization time is shortened. Therefore, the LED output is controlled to be relatively large. On the other hand, when the humidifier is continuously used, the amount of water in the atomization chamber is stable, and it is not necessary to immediately supply UV sterilized water to the atomization chamber, so the output of the LED is relatively small. sterilization time can be extended. Thus, by relatively reducing the output of the LED or shortening the drive time, it is possible to reduce the power consumption of the entire humidifier and extend the life of the LED.
Any combination of the above constituent elements, and conversion of expressions of the present invention between methods, devices, systems, etc. are also effective as aspects of the present invention.
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, the humidifier of the new structure which can reduce risks, such as an infectious disease, can be provided.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In the description of the drawings, the same elements are denoted by the same reference numerals, and overlapping descriptions are omitted as appropriate. Also, the dimensional ratio of each component in each drawing does not necessarily match the dimensional ratio of the actual humidifier. Moreover, the configuration described below is an example and does not limit the scope of the present invention.
(humidifier)
FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view showing a schematic configuration of a humidifier according to this embodiment. The
In the
The volume V1 of the
Specifically, the volume V3 is 150-200 ml, and more preferably 100 ml or less. A
The
The
The
The

The opening of the
(Humidifier control method)
Next, a method for controlling
In the control method according to the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 2, first, the
Next, the
While the
Immediately after the
After that, the water W′ is atomized and consumed in the
In the
Therefore, the
As described above, in the
In addition, the
Further, the surface (reflecting surface) of the reflecting
In addition, since the LED can quickly switch the output of ultraviolet irradiation according to the amount of water in the
Further, the series of opening/closing control of the
In addition, in the
