One of the causes of dandruff is seborrheic dermatitis. Shampoo compositions have hitherto existed for the purpose of removing sebum and dirt from the scalp. However, there are some sebum and oily components of the scalp that cannot be completely removed by shampooing once, and for the purpose of removing them, a pre-shampoo composition that is used on the scalp and hair before washing the hair with shampoo is known. The present inventors have made intensive studies to solve the above problems, and found that (A) polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene decyltetradecyl ether, (B) amphoteric surfactant, (C) ethanol, (D) polyhydric alcohol, and (E) xanthan gum.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY The present invention can provide a pre-shampoo composition that has a good sebum-removing effect, reduces squeaky feeling during rinsing, is well compatible with the scalp, and does not drip from the scalp.

The pre-shampoo composition according to the present invention contains (A) polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene decyltetradecyl ether from the viewpoint of sebum-removing effect.

The component (A) may be contained in the pre-shampoo composition, but it is preferably 0.01 to 5%, more preferably 0.1 to 3%, still more preferably 0.01 to 5% from the viewpoint of sebum removal effect. Contains 5 to 2.5%. If the content of component (A) is less than 0.01%, sebum removal may be insufficient. If the content of component (A) exceeds 5%, the hair may feel squeaky during rinsing, resulting in a poor feeling.
