Description
表面積は、窒素を使用するB.E.T.法により決定される。
耐切創性。切創性能を決定するために、ASTM規格F1790-97の「Standard Test Method for Measuring Cut Resistance of Materials Used in Protective Clothing」を使用した。試験の実施に際しては、特定の力の下で、刃物の先端がマンドレル上に取り付けられた試料を横切って一回引かれる。複数の異なる力で、最初の接触からカットスルーまでに引かれた距離が記録され、グラフはカットスルーまでの距離の関数としての力から構成される。グラフから、25ミリメートルの距離でのカットスルーについての力が決定され、供給刃物の一貫性を検証するために正規化される。正規化された力は、耐切創力として報告される。
撚り合わせたステープルを主体とする16/2綿番手糸(合計約665デニール(760dtex))のポリ(パラフェニレンテレフタルアミド)(PPD-T)繊維を使用して、8枚の編み生地試料をコーティング試験用に製造した。
それぞれの編み生地試料は、20グラム/平方メートルの坪量を有していた。次いで、PPD-T樹脂粒子をポリウレタン(LubrizolからのSancure(登録商標)2710)と混合することによって、7種の異なるコーティング混合物を製造した。PPD-T粒子は、120及び500マイクロメートルのいずれかの平均粒径を有していた。ポリウレタンと混合したPPD-T樹脂粒子の量は、樹脂の重量を基準にして1~10重量%の範囲で様々であった。具体的な粒径及び配合量を表に示す。対照生地として使用した1枚の生地試料はポリウレタンのみでコーティングされており、粒子を含んでいなかった。
PPD-T樹脂粒子をポリウレタンではなくニトリルゴムコーティングと混合したこと以外は実施例2を繰り返した。PPD-T粒子を含有するコーティングは、耐切創性において実施例1と同様の改善を生地にもたらす。
次に、本発明の好ましい態様を示す。
1.1~10重量%のパラ-アラミド粒子を含むポリマーコーティングを含む生地であって、前記粒子が20~500ミクロンの平均粒径を有する、生地。
2.前記粒子が120~500ミクロンの平均粒径を有する、上記1に記載の生地。
3.前記パラ-アラミド粒子がポリ(パラフェニレンテレフタルアミド)粒子である、上記1又は2に記載の生地。
4.前記生地が、パラ-アラミド繊維、メタ-アラミド繊維、ポリアミド繊維、ポリプロピレン繊維、ポリエチレン繊維、ポリエステル繊維、又はこれらの任意の混合物の糸を含む、上記1~3のいずれか1つに記載の生地。
5.前記パラ-アラミド繊維がポリ(パラフェニレンテレフタルアミド)繊維である、上記4に記載の生地。
6.前記生地が編み物である、上記1~5のいずれか1つに記載の生地。
7.前記ポリマーコーティングが、ポリウレタンエラストマー、ニトリルゴム、ビニルゴム、ポリイソプレン、ネオプレン、クロロプレン、ポリクロロプレン、アクリロニトリルブタジエン、カルボキシル化アクリロニトリルブタジエン、スチレン-ブタジエン、エチレン酢酸ビニル、又はこれらのいくつかの組み合わせである、上記1~6のいずれか1つに記載の生地。
8.前記ポリマーコーティングがポリウレタンである、上記7に記載の生地。
9.前記ポリマーコーティングがニトリルゴムである、上記7に記載の生地。
10.1平方メートル当たり100~1000グラム(1平方ヤード当たり3~30オンス)の坪量を有する、上記1~9のいずれか1つに記載の生地。
11.1平方メートル当たり170~850グラム(1平方ヤード当たり5~25オンス)の坪量を有する、上記10に記載の生地。
Claims (4)
- 耐切創性の編み生地であって、
該耐切創性の編み生地の表面にポリマーコーティングを含み、
前記ポリマーコーティングはエラストマー材料及び1~10重量%のパラ-アラミド粒子からなり、前記パラ-アラミド粒子が20~500ミクロンの平均粒径を有する、耐切創性の編み生地。 - 前記耐切創性の編み生地が、パラ-アラミド繊維、メタ-アラミド繊維、ポリアミド繊維、ポリプロピレン繊維、ポリエチレン繊維、ポリエステル繊維、又はこれらの任意の混合物の糸を含む、請求項1に記載の耐切創性の編み生地。
- 前記パラ-アラミド繊維がポリ(パラフェニレンテレフタルアミド)繊維である、請求項2に記載の耐切創性の編み生地。
- 請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の耐切創性の編み生地を含む耐切創性の物品であって、該耐切創性の物品は、手袋、エプロン、又は袖である、耐切創性の物品。
