Description
The present invention relates to an inductor component.
Conventionally, as an inductor component, there is one described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2014-207280 (Patent Document 1). The inductor component has a prime field including a glass material and a coil provided in the prime field. The prime field contains a plurality of insulating layers. The coil includes a coil conductor layer wound in a plane on the insulating layer.
By the way, in the conventional inductor component, since the aspect ratio of the coil conductor layer is small, the cross-sectional area of the coil conductor layer cannot be increased, and the current flowing through the coil cannot be increased. Therefore, in order to increase the aspect ratio, the two coil conductor layers are brought into surface contact with each other.
However, by bringing the two coil conductor layers into surface contact, a plurality of protrusions are formed on the side surfaces of the two layers of coil conductor layers that are in surface contact with each other, and the plurality of protrusions deteriorate the coil characteristics.
Here, the inventor of the present application has formed a groove in the insulating layer by a photolithography method in the conventional method for manufacturing an inductor component, and since the coil conductor layer is formed in the groove, the groove is deeply formed. So, I focused on increasing the aspect ratio of the coil conductor layer.
However, the inventor of the present application has found that the conventional manufacturing method has the following problems. That is, in addition to the glass material, the insulating layer contains a filler material made of alumina in order to secure the strength. Since the filler alumina has a high refractive index, when the negative photosensitive insulating layer is exposed to form a groove, the light used for the exposure is scattered in the insulating layer and deeper in the insulating layer. It is not possible to irradiate the part with light. Therefore, the groove becomes shallow, and it becomes difficult to form a coil conductor layer having a large aspect ratio.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide an inductor component capable of improving coil characteristics.
In order to solve the above problems, the method for manufacturing an inductor component of the present invention is
The process of preparing a photosensitive insulating paste and a conductive paste containing a filler material made of quartz, a glass material, and a resin material, and
The step of applying the insulating paste to form the first insulating layer and
A step of exposing the first insulating layer in a state where the first portion of the first insulating layer is shielded from light by a mask.
A step of removing the first portion of the first insulating layer to form a groove at a position corresponding to the first portion.
A step of applying the conductive paste in the groove to form a coil conductor layer in the groove, and a step of forming the coil conductor layer.
The present invention comprises a step of applying the insulating paste on the first insulating layer and the coil conductor layer to form a second insulating layer.
According to the method for manufacturing an inductor component of the present invention, since an insulating paste containing a filler material made of quartz and a glass material is used, the refractive indexes of the filler material and the glass material can be approximated. As a result, when a groove is formed in the first insulating layer by exposure, the light used for exposure can be prevented from being scattered in the first insulating layer, and the light is irradiated to a deeper part in the first insulating layer. Can be done. Thereby, the aspect ratio of the coil conductor layer can be increased, and the cross-sectional area of the coil conductor layer can be increased. Therefore, it is not necessary to contact and stack a plurality of coil conductor layers in surface contact with each other, and the shape of the side surface of the coil conductor layer can be smoothly formed, so that the Q value can be further increased and the coil characteristics are improved. can do.
Further, in one embodiment of the method for manufacturing an inductor component, exposure is performed with light having a wavelength of 350 nm or less in the exposure step.
According to the above embodiment, since the exposure is performed with light containing no wavelength of 350 nm or less, short wavelengths that are easily scattered can be cut, and deep grooves can be formed more reliably.
Further, in one embodiment of the method for manufacturing an inductor component, firing is performed at a temperature of 800 ° C. or higher and 1000 ° C. or lower after the step of forming the second insulating layer.
According to the above embodiment, since the firing is performed at a temperature of 800 ° C. or higher and 1000 ° C. or lower after the step of forming the second insulating layer, the glass material is melted and the filler material is not melted, so that the firing can be performed.
Further, in one embodiment of the method for manufacturing an inductor component, in the step of preparing the insulating paste and the conductive paste, the content of the filler material with respect to the glass material is 20 vol% or more and 50 vol% or less.
According to the above embodiment, the content of the filler material with respect to the glass material is 20 vol% or more and 50 vol% or less, so that a high aspect ratio and sinterability can be satisfied.
Further, in one embodiment of the inductor component,
A prime field made by laminating multiple insulating layers,
It is equipped with a coil provided inside the element body.
The insulating layer contains a filler material made of quartz and a glass material.
The coil comprises a coil conductor layer wound over the insulating layer.
The aspect ratio of the coil conductor layer is 1.0 or more, and the aspect ratio is 1.0 or more.
In a cross section orthogonal to the stretching direction of the coil conductor layer, the side surface of the coil conductor layer has one protrusion or is smooth.
Here, the aspect ratio of the coil conductor layer is (thickness of the coil conductor layer in the coil axial direction) / (width of the coil conductor layer). The axial direction of the coil refers to a direction parallel to the central axis of the spiral around which the coil is wound. Further, the width of the coil conductor layer refers to the width in the direction orthogonal to the axial direction of the coil in the cross section orthogonal to the stretching direction of the coil conductor layer.
According to the above embodiment, the aspect ratio of the coil conductor layer can be increased, the shape of the side surface of the coil conductor layer can be smoothly formed, and the coil characteristics can be improved.
Further, in one embodiment of the inductor component, the aspect ratio of the coil conductor layer is 2.0 or less.
According to the above embodiment, since the aspect ratio of the coil conductor layer is 2.0 or less, the coil conductor layer having a high aspect ratio can be stably formed.
Further, in one embodiment of the inductor component, in the cross section, the coil conductor layer includes a body portion and a head connected to the body portion, and the width of the head portion is larger than the width of the body portion. Also wide, the thickness of the head has a portion thinner than the thickness of the body.
According to the above embodiment, the end portion in the width direction of the head constitutes a protrusion, but since the thickness of the head is thin, deterioration of the coil characteristics can be prevented. The opening of the mask can be enlarged for exposure so that the head of the coil conductor layer is formed, and the coil conductor layer can be reliably formed even if an exposure deviation occurs.
According to the inductor component of the present invention, the coil characteristics can be improved.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the illustrated embodiments.

The
The
The insulating
The first
The
The
The
As shown in FIG. 4, the aspect ratio of the
In FIG. 4, the cross section of the
As shown in FIG. 4, the
According to the
The aspect ratio of the
Next, a method for manufacturing the
First, a negative type photosensitive insulating paste and a conductive paste are prepared. The insulating paste contains a filler material made of quartz, a glass material, and a resin material.
As shown in FIG. 5A, an insulating paste is applied to form the outer insulating
As shown in FIG. 5B, the first insulating
As shown in FIG. 5D, the conductive paste is applied in the
As shown in FIG. 5F, the insulating paste is applied on the first insulating
According to the method for manufacturing the
Further, since the aspect ratio of the
The particle size of quartz is 0.1 μm or more and 5 μm or less. Preferably, the quartz particle size is 0.9 μm. When the particle size of quartz is 0.1 μm or more, it is easy to disperse as an insulating paste, while when the particle size of quartz is 5 μm or less, the change in refractive index is small and the shape of the
The absolute value of the difference in refractive index between the filler material and the glass material is preferably 0.1 or less. This makes it possible to further prevent the scattering of light used for exposure.
The particle size of the glass particles contained in the
Preferably, in the exposure step, exposure is performed with light having a wavelength of 350 nm or less by using a filter or the like. Therefore, it is possible to cut short wavelengths that are easily scattered, and it is possible to more reliably form a
Preferably, firing is performed at a temperature of 800 ° C. or higher and 1000 ° C. or lower. As a result, the glass material is melted and the filler material is not melted, so that firing can be performed.
Preferably, in the step of preparing the insulating paste and the conductive paste, the content of the filler material with respect to the glass material is 20 vol% or more and 50 vol% or less. Therefore, high aspect ratio and sinterability can be satisfied. On the other hand, if the content of the filler material is too small, it is disadvantageous for a high aspect ratio, and if the content of the filler material is too large, the sinterability is lowered.

The depth of the groove is 20 μm, the width of the groove is 25 μm, and the thickness of the coil conductor layer is 25 μm. The number of turns of the coil is 1 to 10 turns.
In the conventional example of the inductor component, the W dimension of the inductor component is 200 ± 10 μm, the L dimension of the inductor component is 400 ± 10 μm, and the T dimension of the inductor component is 200 μm or more and 320 μm or less. The depth of the groove is 10 μm, the width of the groove is 25 μm, and the thickness of the coil conductor layer is 10 μm. The number of turns of the coil is 1 to 10 turns.
Then, when the Q value was measured under the condition that the measurement frequency was 6.1 GHz and the L value was 3.6 nH, the Q value of the conventional example was 18 and the Q value of the embodiment was 24. As a result, the Q value improved more than 1.25 times.
(Measurement method of refractive index)
A composition analysis method is used as a method for measuring the refractive index. The cross section of the inductor component is polished to the center in the L direction, and EDX is used to analyze the composition of the entire glass portion other than Ag. From this result, the composition ratio is known, and the refractive index is inferred. The range of the refractive index of glass is estimated by analogy with the correspondence table of the ratio of the composition of glass and the refractive index.

The cross section of the inductor component is polished to the center in the L direction, and a spherical quartz filler material is specified using EDX and SEM. Based on the information in the measurement area, the area ratio is calculated. Draw 100 lines, measure the length of each of quartz and borosilicate glass, and average them.

(Second Embodiment)
FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view showing a second embodiment of the inductor component of the present invention. The second embodiment is different from the first embodiment in the configuration of the coil conductor layer. This different configuration will be described below.
As shown in FIG. 6, in the inductor component of the second embodiment, in the cross section, the
The
Each of the side surfaces 25a of the
Therefore, the end portion of the

For example, the feature points of the first and second embodiments may be combined in various ways.
In the above embodiment, a coloring material such as cobalt may be added to the element body to reduce the transmittance of the product, and the visibility of the internal coil can be reduced.
In the above embodiment, the external electrode is formed in an L shape, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the external electrode may be formed only on the bottom surface of the prime field.
In the above embodiment, the coil has a configuration in which a plurality of coil conductor layers having less than one turn are laminated, but the number of turns of the coil conductor layer may be one turn or more. That is, the coil conductor layer may have a planar spiral shape.
