Description
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus and a program.
The inkjet image forming apparatus ejects ink from the recording head while reciprocating the carriage equipped with the recording head in the main scanning direction, and conveys the recording medium (object) in the sub-scanning direction using a conveying roller. Many of them have a structure in which an image is formed by repeating.
At this time, there is a problem that the transport amount (feed amount) of the recording medium fluctuates due to the variation in the diameter of the transport roller, the mounting state, the eccentricity, and the difference in the type of the recording medium. If the amount of ink transported fluctuates, the landing position of the ink in the sub-scanning direction may shift. Therefore, a method is known in which a test pattern is formed on a recording medium, the amount of displacement of the recording medium in the transport direction is detected based on the test pattern by a two-dimensional sensor or the like, and the amount of rotation of the transport roller is corrected. ..
However, for example, when the inclination of the carriage differs depending on the scanning direction of the carriage (during the outward movement and the return movement), the inclination of the recording head also differs between the outward movement and the return movement, and the amount of the recording medium conveyed is corrected. However, there is a problem that the image quality is deteriorated due to white spots and overlapping of excess ink.
Here, a transfer control device that reduces fluctuations in the transfer amount of the recording medium is known (for example, Patent Document 1). In this transfer control device, the actual position information of the mark actually detected by the sensor when the transfer roller makes one rotation and the theoretical position information of the mark ideally detected by the sensor when the transfer roller makes one rotation. Calculate the difference. Then, based on the calculated difference, the corrected feed amount of each mark is calculated from the actual feed amount. Next, the error (error of the feed amount) between the corrected feed amount of each mark and the theoretical feed amount of each mark determined in advance is obtained in correspondence with the rotation position of the transport roller. Based on the relationship between the rotation position of the transfer roller and the obtained error (error of the feed amount), the correction amount for correcting the transfer amount of the recording medium by the transfer roller is calculated, and the calculated correction amount is used for the transfer roller. Is in control.
In order to appropriately adjust the image formation position according to the deviation of the ink landing position due to the fluctuation of the transport amount of the recording medium and the inclination of the carriage, it is necessary to know the amount of the displacement. However, in the transfer control device of Patent Document 1, the correction amount for correcting the transfer amount of the transfer roller is calculated from the difference between the actual position information detected by the sensor and the theoretical position information that is ideally detected. However, the actual amount of misalignment cannot be obtained.
An object of the present invention is to appropriately calculate the actual distance of the displacement amount according to the displacement amount in the captured image captured by the imaging unit, and to correct the transport amount of the object for each scanning direction of the carriage. And.
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems and achieve the object, the present invention has an image forming unit having a recording head and forming an image on an object by the recording head, and a pair of first markers by the recording head. An image is taken of a test pattern including a pattern forming portion formed and the recording head having an inclination different from that at the time of forming the pair of first markers to form a second marker, and the pair of first markers and the second marker. The distance between the imaging unit, the position detection unit that detects the positions of the pair of first markers and the second marker in the image captured by the imaging unit, and the pair of first markers in the captured image. , The amount of misalignment of the second marker based on the ratio calculation unit that calculates the ratio of the amount of misalignment of the second marker in the captured image, and the actual distance between the pair of first markers and the ratio. The actual distance calculation unit that calculates the actual distance, the transport control unit that transports the object, and the transport control unit that transports the object according to the calculated actual distance of the displacement amount of the second marker. It is provided with an adjustment unit for adjusting parameters related to quantity.
According to the present invention, the actual distance of the displacement amount according to the displacement amount in the captured image captured by the imaging unit can be appropriately calculated, and the transport amount of the object can be corrected for each scanning direction of the carriage. It has the effect of being able to.
The image forming apparatus, the actual distance calculation method, and the embodiment of the program will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
(First Embodiment)
<Mechanical configuration of image forming apparatus>
First, a mechanical configuration example of the
As shown in FIG. 1, the
The
As shown in FIG. 3, the
The cartridge 7, which is an ink supply body for supplying ink to the
As shown in FIG. 2, a
As described above, the
Further, the
Further, as shown in FIG. 3, the
Each of the above-mentioned components constituting the
The
<Specific example 1 of the imaging unit>
First, a specific example of the
The
The
The
Further, a
On the other hand, the
センサ部26は、図6に示すように、CCD(Charge Coupled Device )センサまたはCMOS(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor)センサなどの二次元センサ27と、センサ部26の撮像範囲の光学像を二次元センサ27の受光面(撮像領域)に結像する結像レンズ28とを備える。
Further, a
The
At this time, in the
The
光源58としては、例えば省スペース/省電力に有利なLED(Light Emitting Diode)が用いられる。
The
In the present embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, a pair of LEDs are evenly arranged in a direction orthogonal to the direction in which the
The two LEDs used as the
Further, as shown in FIG. 8, the

As shown in FIG. 6, for example, in the optical path
The mechanical configuration of the

The

In the present embodiment, the

The
The transport control unit 116 of the
The
The test pattern TP of the present embodiment is a set of markers including at least a pair of first markers M1a and M1b and a second marker M2. The details of the test pattern TP will be described later (see FIG. 16). The
In the present embodiment, the
Further, in the following, when the test pattern TP is formed on the recording medium P, the case where the inclination of the
FIG. 15 shows a case where the inclination of the
Therefore, in the
Here, the test pattern TP will be described. FIG. 16 is a diagram showing an example of a test pattern formed on a recording medium. FIG. 16A shows the positional relationship of the imaged markers, and FIG. 16B shows the theoretical positional relationship of the markers. The test pattern TP shown in FIG. 16 is a set of markers including a pair of first markers M1a and M1b and a second marker M2. Further, the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the second marker M2 are formed of dots and are formed along the sub-scanning direction (arrow β direction in the drawing) which is the transport direction of the recording medium P.
As shown in FIG. 16B, in the test pattern TP of the present embodiment, theoretically, the second marker M2 is arranged between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b. That is, the distance H between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b is twice the distance A between the first marker M1a and the second marker M2. Then, in the captured image of the test pattern TP formed on the recording medium P, as shown in FIG. 16A, the distance h between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b, and the first markers M1a and the second marker M2 are The distance is a.
Next, a method of forming the test pattern TP will be described. In the test pattern TP shown in FIG. 16, for example, a pair of first markers M1a and M1b are formed on the recording medium P in the outward direction, and the scanning direction is opposite to that at the time of forming the pair of first markers M1a and M1b. The second marker M2 is formed in the outward direction. Further, the pair of first markers M1a and M1b are formed by nozzles separated by a distance H. The second marker M2 is formed by a nozzle separated from the first marker M1a by a distance A.
Therefore, when the inclination of the
In this embodiment, an example in which the ideal position of the second marker M2 is an intermediate position between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b will be described, but it does not have to be an intermediate position between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b. .. That is, if the second marker M2 can be imaged together with the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and is formed at a predetermined position, the ideal position of the second marker M2 is the pair of first markers M1a. , M1b, or not between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b.
In this way, the test pattern TP forms a pair of first markers M1a and M1b while the

Specifically, a method of calculating the ratio will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 17 is an explanatory diagram of a method of calculating the ratio of the distance between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b in the captured image and the amount of misalignment of the second marker M2. As shown in FIG. 17, the ratio calculation unit 143 obtains the distance h of the pair of first markers M1a and M1b in the captured image from the detected positions of the pair of first markers M1a and M1b. Then, the amount of misalignment s of the second marker M2 in the captured image is obtained from the difference between the detected second marker M2 and the ideal position of the second marker M2.
Here, the ideal position of the second marker M2 is a pair of positions corresponding to the middle between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b in the present embodiment, that is, from the respective positions of the first marker M1a and the first marker M1b. It is a position at a distance of 1/2 of the distance between the first markers M1a and M1b. In FIG. 17, it is a position equidistant h / 2 from each position of the first marker M1a and the first marker M1b (distance a1 in FIG. 17).
Therefore, the amount of misalignment s of the first marker M1 in the captured image is the difference between the distance a1 between the ideal positions of the first marker M1a and the second marker M2 and the distance a of the first marker M1a and the second marker M2. Become. Then, the ratio is calculated by dividing the misalignment amount s of the second marker M2 in the captured image by the distance h between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b in the captured image (s / h). The above ratio calculated by the ratio calculation unit 143 is passed to the actual distance calculation unit 114.
Further, a method of calculating the ratio when the ideal position of the second marker M2 is not between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b will be described. In this case, it is assumed that the ideal position of the second marker M2 is stored in advance in the two-
Here, consider a case where a relative positional deviation occurs between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the second marker M2 when the test pattern TP illustrated in FIG. 16 is formed on the recording medium P. FIG. 18 is a diagram illustrating an example in which a relative positional deviation occurs between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b included in the test pattern and the second marker M2.
In the test pattern TP illustrated in FIG. 16, as described above, the second marker M2 should be formed at a position (ideal position) corresponding to the middle between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b, but the recording medium. As shown in FIG. 18, it is assumed that the second marker M2 is formed at a position close to the first marker M1a due to the deviation of the ink landing position due to the fluctuation of the transport amount of P. At this time, the distance between the second marker M2 and the first marker M1b on the captured image is a, and the distance between the second marker M2 and the first marker M1a on the captured image is b.
Even when a relative positional deviation occurs between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the second marker M2, the pair of first markers M1a and M1b have the same conditions (same transfer amount and inclination). Therefore, there is no change in the actual distance between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b. That is, the actual distance corresponding to the distance a + b (distance between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b) in FIG. 18 has a relative positional deviation between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the second marker M2. It does not change even if it occurs.
FIG. 19 is a diagram for explaining the amount of misalignment of the second marker M2 with respect to the pair of first markers M1a and M1b. In FIG. 19, each of the pair of first markers M1a and M1b has coordinates with the midpoint between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b as the origin, the actual distance as the horizontal axis, and the distance on the captured image as the vertical axis. It is a plot of the position. In the example of FIG. 19, it is assumed that the relative misalignment as shown in FIG. 18 occurs between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the second marker M2.
In FIG. 19, the inclination of the straight line connecting the positions of the pair of first markers M1a and M1b plotted is the distance between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the distance between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b in the captured image. It corresponds to the ratio with the actual distance. That is, the slope of this straight line represents the ratio (image magnification) of the distance to the actual distance in the captured image. Further, since the position of the second marker M2 is the origin when there is no relative positional deviation between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the second marker M2, the plotted pair of first markers The distance s between the intersection of the straight line connecting the positions of M1a and M1b and the horizontal axis and the origin is the amount of misalignment of the second marker M2 with respect to the pair of first markers M1a and M1b.
The ratio of the distance to the actual distance (image magnification) in the above-mentioned captured image changes depending on the fluctuation of the distance between the
FIG. 20 is a diagram for explaining the amount of misalignment of the second marker M2 with respect to the pair of first markers M1a and M1b when the distance between the imaging unit and the test pattern fluctuates. When the distance between the
On the other hand, when the distance between the
Further, the distance between the origin and the intersection of the straight line connecting the positions of the pair of first markers M1a and M1b plotted and the vertical axis is the position of the second marker M2 with respect to the pair of first markers M1a and M1b in the captured image.

Next, with reference to FIG. 21, an outline of the operation related to the adjustment of the transport amount of the
When the recording medium P is set on the
Next, the
Next, the two-
Next, the ratio calculation unit 143 of the
Next, the actual distance calculation unit 114 of the
Next, the adjusting unit 115 of the
On the other hand, when it is determined that the ink landing position shift has occurred (step S16: Yes), the adjusting unit 115 determines based on the actual distance of the position shift amount of the second marker M2 calculated in step S15. The correction amount of the parameter related to the transport amount of the recording medium P is calculated (step S17). Then, the parameter related to the conveyed amount of the recording medium P is adjusted according to the calculated correction amount (step S18), and the series of operations is completed.
As described above, the
Therefore, according to the
<Other calculation methods of the actual distance of the displacement amount of the first marker>
In the above-described embodiment, the ratio between the distance between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b in the captured image and the amount of misalignment of the second marker M2 in the captured image is calculated, and the actual result between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b is calculated. The actual distance of the misalignment amount of the second marker M2 was calculated by calculating the ratio to the distance, but the actual distance of the misalignment amount of the second marker M2 was calculated by the following method. You may.
例えば、図18を参照すると、a/a+bまたはb/a+bがここで算出する比率である。 The ratio calculation unit 143 calculates the ratio between the distance between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b in the captured image and the distance between one of the pair of first markers M1a and M1b in the captured image and the second marker M2. do. For example, referring to FIG. 18, a / a + b or b / a + b is the ratio calculated here.
Then, the actual distance calculation unit 114 multiplies the actual distance between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b by the ratio calculated by the ratio calculation unit 143 to obtain one of the pair of first markers M1a and M1b. The actual distance of the distance from the second marker M2 is calculated. Then, with one of the pair of first markers M1a and M1b calculated from the distance between the second marker M2 and one of the pair of first markers M1a and M1b in the pattern data used for forming the test pattern TP. By subtracting the actual distance of the distance from the second marker M2, the actual distance of the amount of misalignment of the second marker M2 is calculated. Then, based on the calculated actual distance of the misalignment amount of the second marker M2, the parameter related to the transport amount of the recording medium P can be adjusted for each scanning direction of the
<Modification example of test pattern>
The test pattern TP used in this embodiment is not limited to the example shown in FIG. 16, and various modifications can be made. Hereinafter, a modified example of such a test pattern TP will be described.
In the test pattern TP shown in FIG. 16, only the pair of first markers M1a, M1b and the second marker M2 are formed, but the positions of the pair of first markers M1a, M1b and the second marker M2 are further set. The reference line to be specified may be formed under different conditions from the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the second marker M2. The reference line may be a reference frame surrounding the pair of first markers M1a, M1b and the second marker M2.
FIG. 22 is a diagram showing an example of a test pattern and a reference frame. In FIG. 22, in addition to the test pattern TP of FIG. 16, a reference frame F surrounding the test pattern TP is formed. The reference frame F is formed of, for example, a straight line having a thickness different from that of the test pattern TP, as a condition different from the line of the marker of the test pattern TP. Therefore, when detecting the positions of the pair of first markers M1a, M1b and the second marker M2 in the captured image, the reference frame F is distinguished from the test pattern TP composed of the pair of first markers M1a, M1b and the second marker M2. Can be done.
After acquiring the captured image, the
Here, the reference frame F will be described. When imaging is performed by the
Further, the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the second marker M2 may be formed in a linear shape extending in the main scanning direction which is the moving direction of the
(Second embodiment)
In the image forming apparatus of the first embodiment, the test pattern TP in which the second marker M2 is formed between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b is imaged, and the actual amount of misalignment of the second marker M2 is measured from the captured image. The distance was calculated. On the other hand, in the image forming apparatus of the present embodiment, the test pattern TP formed by forming the first marker M1b and the second marker M2 by nozzles separated by the same distance from the nozzle forming the first marker M1a is imaged. The actual distance of the amount of misalignment of the second marker M2 is calculated from the captured image.

The test pattern TP of the present embodiment is a set of markers including a pair of first markers M1a and M1b and a second marker M2. In the present embodiment, the
FIG. 24 is a diagram showing an example of a test pattern formed on a recording medium. FIG. 24A shows the positional relationship of the imaged markers, and FIG. 24B shows the theoretical positional relationship of the markers. The test pattern TP shown in FIG. 24 is a set of markers including a pair of first markers M1a and M1b and a second marker M2. Further, the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the second marker M2 are formed in a linear shape extending in the main scanning direction (arrow α direction in the drawing) which is the transport direction of the
As shown in FIG. 24B, the test pattern TP of the present embodiment is theoretically located at a position equidistant A from the first marker M1a in the sub-scanning direction (arrow β direction in the figure), and the first marker M1b. And the second marker M2 is arranged. Then, in the captured image of the test pattern TP formed on the recording medium P, as shown in FIG. 24A, the distance between the pair of the first markers M1a and M1b is a, and the distance between the first markers M1a and the second marker M2. Is the distance a'.
Next, a method of forming the test pattern TP will be described. In the test pattern TP shown in FIG. 24, for example, a pair of first markers M1a and M1b are formed on the recording medium P in the outward direction, and the scanning direction is opposite to that at the time of forming the pair of first markers M1a and M1b. The second marker M2 is formed in the return direction. Further, the first marker M1a, the first marker M1b, and the second marker M2 are formed by nozzles separated by a distance A.
Therefore, when the inclination of the
The ratio calculation unit 143 of the
For example, in the case of FIG. 24, the ratio calculation unit 143 obtains the distance a between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b from the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the second marker M2 in the captured image. Next, the ratio calculation unit 143 obtains the difference by subtracting the distance a'between the first marker M1a and the second marker M2 from the distance a between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b in the captured image (a-). a'). Then, the ratio calculation unit 143 calculates (a-a') / a as a ratio. After that, the actual distance calculation unit 114 multiplies the actual distance A of the pair of first markers M1a and M1b by the calculated ratio (a-a') / a, and the second marker with respect to the pair of first markers M1a and M1b. The actual distance (a-a') A / a of the misalignment amount s of M2 is calculated.
<Operation of image forming device>
Next, with reference to FIG. 25, an outline of the operation related to the adjustment of the transport amount of the
The processing from the formation of the pair of first markers M1a and M1b to the detection of each marker (steps S30 to S33) is the same as that of the first embodiment, and thus the description thereof will be omitted (see steps S10 to S13 in FIG. 21). ).
Next, the ratio calculation unit 143 of the
Next, the actual distance calculation unit 114 of the
The processing from the confirmation of the presence or absence of the misalignment to the adjustment of the parameters related to the transport amount (steps S36 to S38) is the same as that of the first embodiment, and thus the description thereof will be omitted (see steps S16 to S18 in FIG. 21). ..
As described above, the
Therefore, according to the
Further, in the
<Modification example of test pattern>
The test pattern TP used in this embodiment is not limited to the example shown in FIG. 24, and can be variously modified. Hereinafter, a modified example of such a test pattern TP will be described.
In the test pattern TP shown in FIG. 24, only the pair of first markers M1a, M1b and the second marker M2 are formed, but the positions of the pair of first markers M1a, M1b and the second marker M2 are further set. The reference line to be specified may be formed under different conditions from the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the second marker M2. The reference line may be a reference frame surrounding the pair of first markers M1a, M1b and the second marker M2.
FIG. 26 is a diagram showing an example of a test pattern and a reference frame. In FIG. 26, in addition to the test pattern TP of FIG. 24, a reference frame F surrounding the test pattern TP is formed.

FIG. 27 is a diagram showing an example of a test pattern formed on a recording medium. FIG. 27 (a) shows the positional relationship of the imaged markers, and FIG. 27 (b) shows the theoretical positional relationship of the markers. The test pattern TP shown in FIG. 27 is a set of markers including a pair of first markers M1a and M1b, a second marker M2, and a third marker M3. Further, the pair of first markers M1a and M1b, the second marker M2, and the third marker M3 are formed in a linear shape extending in the main scanning direction (arrow α direction in the drawing) which is the transport direction of the
As shown in FIG. 27 (b), the test pattern TP of the present embodiment is theoretically located at a position equidistant A from the first marker M1a in the sub-scanning direction (arrow β direction in the figure), and the second marker M2. And the third marker M3 is arranged. Further, theoretically, the first marker M1b is arranged at a position separated from the first marker M1a by a distance H in the sub-scanning direction. Then, in the captured image of the test pattern TP formed on the recording medium P, as shown in FIG. 27 (a), the distance between the pair of the first markers M1a and M1b is h, and the distance between the first markers M1a and the second marker M2. Is the distance a', and the distance a is between the first marker M1a and the third marker M3.
Next, a method of forming the test pattern TP will be described. In the test pattern TP shown in FIG. 27, for example, a pair of first markers M1a, M1b and a third marker M3 are formed on the recording medium P in the outward direction, and the pair of first markers M1a, M1b and the third marker M3 are formed. The second marker M2 is formed in the return path direction, which is the scanning direction opposite to that at the time of formation. Further, the first marker M1a, the second marker M2, and the third marker M3 are formed by nozzles separated by a distance A.
Therefore, when the inclination of the
The ratio calculation unit 143 of the
For example, in the case of FIG. 27, the ratio calculation unit 143 obtains the distance h between the pair of first markers M1a and M1b from the pair of first markers M1a and M1b and the second marker M2 in the captured image. Next, the ratio calculation unit 143 obtains the difference between the distance a'between the first marker M1a and the second marker M2 in the captured image and the distance a between the first marker M1a and the third marker M3 (a-a). '). Then, the ratio calculation unit 143 calculates (a-a') / h as a ratio. After that, the actual distance calculation unit 114 multiplies the actual distance H of the pair of first markers M1a and M1b by the calculated ratio (a-a') / h, and the second marker with respect to the pair of first markers M1a and M1b. The actual distance (a-a') H / h of the misalignment amount s of M2 is calculated.

Therefore, according to the
Further, in the
<Modification example of test pattern>
The test pattern TP used in this embodiment is not limited to the example shown in FIG. 27, and can be variously modified. Hereinafter, a modified example of such a test pattern TP will be described.
In the test pattern TP shown in FIG. 27, only a pair of first markers M1a and M1b, a second marker M2, and a third marker M3 are formed, but further, a pair of first markers M1a, M1b, and a third marker are formed. A reference line for specifying the positions of the two markers M2 and the third marker M3 may be formed under different conditions from the pair of first markers M1a and M1b, the second marker M2, and the third marker M3. .. The reference line may be a reference frame surrounding the pair of first markers M1a, M1b, second marker M2, and third marker M3.
FIG. 29 is a diagram showing an example of a test pattern and a reference frame. In FIG. 29, in addition to the test pattern TP of FIG. 27, a reference frame F surrounding the test pattern TP is formed. The reference frame F is formed of, for example, a straight line having a thickness different from that of the test pattern TP, as a condition different from the line of the marker of the test pattern TP. Therefore, when the positions of the pair of first markers M1a, M1b, the second marker M2, and the third marker M3 are detected in the captured image, the reference frame F is the pair of the first markers M1a, M1b, and the second marker M2. It can be distinguished from the test pattern TP composed of the third marker M3.
After acquiring the captured image, the
