Description
The present invention relates to a front protective plate for a display device and a display device including the front protective plate.
Generally, on the front side (exhaust side of display light, observer side) of a display device such as a liquid crystal display device, a plasma display panel, an organic EL display device, or electronic paper, a front surface protection for the display device for protecting the display device is provided. A board is provided. Such a front protective plate for a display device preferably has a decorative layer that hides wiring, connectors, etc. arranged on the outer peripheral portion of the display area of the display device so as not to spoil the appearance. It is used (for example, Patent Document 1).
As such a decorative layer, a layer having a black color is often used in order to secure a light-shielding property. However, in order to enhance the commercial value such as design, colors other than black are required, and recently, many of them exhibit white color (for example, Patent Documents 2 and 3).
Conventionally, a glass substrate has been mainly used as a translucent substrate constituting the front protective plate for a display device as described above, but in order to make it easier to bend, polyimide (PI) is used instead of the glass substrate. ) It is desired to use a flexible translucent substrate made of resin or the like.
However, when a polyimide (PI) resin substrate is used as a translucent substrate, light of a short wavelength is cut due to the characteristics of the material, so that the color of the display area of the front protective plate for the display device becomes yellowish. It will be.
Therefore, it has been proposed to provide a color adjusting layer for adjusting the color of the polyimide (PI) resin substrate on one surface of the polyimide (PI) resin substrate to obtain a desired color.
However, as shown in FIG. 11, a polyimide (PI) resin substrate is used as the
11A and 11B are views showing an example of a conventional front protective plate for a display device, where FIG. 11A is a schematic plan view and FIG. 11B is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along the line FF of FIG. 11A.
Further, although omitted in FIG. 11, a light-shielding layer for supplementing the light-shielding property is usually provided on the lower surface of the white decoration layer 103 (the side opposite to the color adjustment layer 102). Has been done. This is because, unlike the decorative layer exhibiting black color, the decorative layer exhibiting white color tends to have insufficient light-shielding property when the demand for thinning is met, and this lack of light-shielding property is compensated for.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and by adjusting the colors of the display area and the opaque area, it is possible to make both the display area and the opaque area a desired color.
<Front protective plate for display device>
First, the front protective plate for a display device according to the present invention will be described.
The configurations in each of the following embodiments (for example, the translucent substrate, the first to third color adjusting layers, and the first to third decorative layers) describe the minimum necessary configurations in each embodiment. Therefore, the front protective plate for a display device according to the present invention may have a configuration other than these (for example, a transparent electrode or the like) as appropriate.
(First Embodiment)
First, a first embodiment of the front protective plate for a display device according to the present invention will be described.
FIG. 1 is a diagram showing an example of a first embodiment of a front protective plate for a display device according to the present invention. Here, (a) is a schematic plan view, and (b) is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along the line AA of (a).
As shown in FIG. 1A, the display device front protective plate 1 has a display area P1 and has an opaque area Q1 that shields visible light on the outer peripheral portion of the display area P1.
The display area P1 is an area in which when the display device front protective plate 1 is arranged on the display device, the contents displayed by the display device can be displayed through the display device front protective plate 1.
On the other hand, the opaque region Q1 hides the wiring, the connector, etc. arranged on the outer peripheral portion of the display region P1 when the front protective plate 1 for the display device is arranged on the display device so as not to spoil the appearance. Area for. Further, the opaque region Q1 is an region that also serves as a decorative portion by visible information such as colors and patterns expressed by the opaque region Q1 and logos and marks provided as appropriate. Although not shown, the opaque region Q1 may be provided with a region that transmits infrared rays.
Further, as shown in FIG. 1B, the display device front protective plate 1 adjusts the color of the
Here, although omitted in FIG. 1B, the light-shielding property is supplemented on the lower surface of the first decorative layer 14 (the side opposite to the second color adjusting layer 13). A light-shielding layer may be provided. This is because, unlike the decorative layer exhibiting black color, the decorative layer exhibiting white color tends to have insufficient light-shielding property when the demand for thinning is met, and this lack of light-shielding property is compensated for.
As the light-shielding layer, for example, one composed of a resin containing a black pigment can be used.
For this black pigment, for example, titanium black (low-order titanium oxide, titanium oxynitride, etc.), carbon black, or the like can be used.
The resin is basically not particularly limited, but it is preferable to use a curable resin in terms of durability and the like.
When the front protective plate 1 for the display device is arranged on the display device, the display panel or the like of the display device is arranged on the lower side (opposite side of the translucent substrate 11) of the first
In this way, the display device front protective plate 1 can adjust the color of the
Therefore, in the front protective plate 1 for the display device, the display area P1 and the opaque area Q1 are used even when a flexible translucent substrate made of polyimide (PI) resin or the like is used instead of the glass substrate. Both can be the desired color.
色度a*は、−0.5≦a*≦0.5、及び
(About white)
In the present invention, the term "white" includes not only literal white but also white having a slight tint. The ideal white color is a color having a reflectance of 100% and no hue at all, but is a difficult color in reality. Therefore, in the present invention, "white" is defined as follows.
That is, in the present invention, "white" means lightness L * , chromaticity a *, and chromaticity b * in the L * a * b * color system according to JIS Z 8729.
The brightness L * is L * ≧ 80, preferably L * ≧ 90, more preferably L * ≧ 95,
The chromaticity a * is -0.5 ≤ a * ≤ 0.5, and the chromaticity b * is -0.5 ≤ b * ≤ 0.5.
Is defined as the color that indicates.
Regarding the lightness, if the chromaticity a * and the chromaticity b * are within the above ranges, a low lightness may be required depending on the required white color design. Therefore, the higher the lightness is, the higher the lightness is. It cannot be said that it is good, but in the sense that it is whiter, it is better to have high brightness.
L * is an index of lightness, and both a * and b * are indexes related to both hue and saturation. FIG. 10 shows an L * a * b * color system chromaticity diagram having chromaticity a * and chromaticity b * representing the hue and saturation as coordinate axes. In the figure, the negative direction on the left side of the drawing of a * is the green direction, the positive direction on the right side of the drawing of a * is the red direction, the negative direction on the lower side of the drawing of b * is the blue direction, and b * The positive direction on the upper side of the drawing is the yellow direction. The direction perpendicular to the paper surface is the coordinate axis of brightness L *. In the figure, the domain of white in the present invention is shown by a dotted quadrangle.
Hereinafter, each member constituting the front protective plate 1 for the display device will be described.
(Translucent substrate 11)
The
Here, "translucency" means transparency to the extent that an observer of a display device provided with a front protective plate 1 for a display device does not interfere with visibility from the display area P1 unless otherwise specified. It means that you are doing it. Therefore, this "translucency" includes colorless transparency and colored transparency to the extent that it does not interfere with visibility, and is not defined by a strict transmittance, and is transparent depending on the application of the front protective plate 1 for a display device and the like. The degree of lightness can be determined.
The
The material constituting the
The thickness of the
As the
