Description
本出願は、2014年6月26日に出願された米国仮出願特許第62/017,309号の利益を主張する。
誘電体は、様々な用途において使用される非導電性流体である。誘電流体の絶縁性及び冷却性は、変圧器、コンデンサ、スイッチギヤ、伝送部品、配電部品、スイッチ、レギュレータ、回路遮断器、自動リクローザ、流体充填伝送線、及び他の電気装置等の電気部品において用途がある。
上述されるように、本明細書に記載される誘電流体は、1つ以上のダイマー酸の飽和ジエステルを含む。本明細書で使用する場合、用語「ダイマー酸」は、不飽和脂肪酸を二量体化することによって調製される、ジカルボン酸を意味する。結果として得られるダイマー酸が未だ飽和されていない場合は、水素化して飽和分子を作成してもよい。当該技術分野において知られているように、用語「飽和」は、炭素−炭素二重結合及び炭素−炭素三重結合のどちらも有さない分子を意味する。ダイマー酸を生成するための好適な脂肪酸出発材料としては、限定されるものではないが、例えばオレイン酸等の不飽和C18脂肪酸が挙げられる。様々な実施形態において、脂肪酸出発材料は、例えばトール油において見られるもの等の脂肪酸の複合混合物であってもよい。
上述されるように、誘電流体は、ダイマー酸ジエステルに加えて、1つ以上の添加剤を含んでもよい。そのような添加剤としては、限定されるものではないが、抗酸化剤、酸化防止剤、腐食防止剤、金属不活性化剤、流動点降下剤、またはそれらのうちの2つ以上の組み合わせが挙げられる。
本ダイマー酸ジエステルは、それらを誘電流体としての使用にとって好適とする特定の物理的特性を有し得る。
本開示はデバイスを提供する。デバイスは電気部品を含み、本誘電流体がこの電気部品と操作的に連通している。本誘電流体は、上記のダイマー酸のジエステルのうちの1つ以上と、任意選択で抗酸化剤等の1つ以上の添加剤とを含む。好適な電気部品の非限定的例としては、変圧器、コンデンサ、スイッチギヤ、伝送部品、配電部品、スイッチ、レギュレータ、回路遮断器、自動リクローザ、もしくは類似の部品、流体充填伝送線、及び/またはそれらの組み合わせが挙げられる。
引火点
引火点は、ASTM D92に従って判定する。
燃焼点は、ASTM D92に従って判定する。
8ドラムの透明ガラスバイアル(Fisher Scientific、25×95mmの8ドラムバイアル部、03−339−22H)のおよそ半分を流体で充填する。次いで、流体の入ったバイアルを24時間、−40℃の冷凍装置(Cincinnati sub−zeroモデルWU−24−2−2−SC/AC)内で馴化させる。24時間後、試験体を冷凍装置から取り出す。冷凍装置から取り出した5〜10分後に、その流動性を視覚的に特性評価する。流動性の特性評価は、バイアルを横倒しにすることと、材料が動いたか/流れたか、及びその見かけについて説明することとからなる。
以下の材料を下の実施例において採用する。
4つの飽和ダイマー酸ジエステル(S1〜S4)と、2つの不飽和ダイマー酸ジエステル(CS2及びCS3)を、以下の手順に従って調製する。アルコール(1mol)、トルエン(100mL)、ダイマー酸(0.45mol)、及びH2SO4(濃度、1mol%)をフラスコに装填する。試料S1はアルコールとして2−エチルヘキサノールを用いて調製し、試料S2はアルコールとして1−ヘキサノールを用いて調製し、試料S3はアルコールとして1−ブタノールを用いて調製し、試料S4はアルコールとして1−ペンタノールを用いて調製する。試料S1〜S4は、飽和ダイマー酸を用いて調製する。比較試料CS2はアルコールとして1−ブタノールを用いて調製し、比較試料CS3はアルコールとして2−エチルヘキサノールを用いて調製する。CS2及びCS3は、不飽和ダイマー酸を用いて調製する。
試料S1〜S4、及び比較試料CS1〜CS3を、上記の試験方法に従って、燃焼点、引火点、及び流動点について分析する。CS1は、MIDEL(商標)7131である。
本願発明には以下の態様が含まれる。

飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルを含む、誘電流体。

飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルと、
抗酸化剤、酸化防止剤、腐食防止剤、金属不活性化剤、流動点降下剤、及びそれらのうちの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、1つ以上の添加剤と、
から本質的になる、誘電流体。

飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルと、
抗酸化剤、酸化防止剤、腐食防止剤、金属不活性化剤、流動点降下剤、及びそれらのうちの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、1つ以上の添加剤と、
からなる、誘電流体。

電気部品と、
上記[1]〜[3]のいずれか1項に記載の誘電流体と、
を備える、デバイス。

前記電気部品が、変圧器、コンデンサ、スイッチ、レギュレータ、回路遮断器、リクローザ、流体充填伝送線、及びそれらのうちの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、上記[4]に記載のデバイス。
[6]
前記電気部品が変圧器であり、前記誘電流体の少なくとも一部が前記変圧器内に配置される、上記[4]に記載のデバイス。
[7]
前記飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルが、ASTM D92に従って測定した場合、少なくとも250℃の引火点を有し、前記飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルが、ASTM D92に従って測定した場合、少なくとも300℃の燃焼点を有する、上記[1]〜[3]のいずれか1項に記載の誘電流体。

前記飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルが、飽和ダイマー酸のジアルキルジエステルである、上記[1]〜[3]のいずれか1項に記載の誘電流体。
[9]
前記飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルが、ダイマー酸のジ−2−エチルヘキシルジエステル、ダイマー酸のジヘキシルジエステル、ダイマー酸のジブチルジエステル、ダイマー酸のジペンチルジエステル、及びそれらのうちの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、上記[1]〜[3]のいずれか1項に記載の誘電流体。
[10]
前記飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルが、−40℃で流動可能である、上記[1]〜[3]のいずれか1項に記載の誘電流体。
Claims (10)
- 飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルを、誘電流体の全重量に基づいて、少なくとも95重量%含む、誘電流体。
- 飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルと、
抗酸化剤、酸化防止剤、腐食防止剤、金属不活性化剤、流動点降下剤、及びそれらのうちの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、1つ以上の添加剤と、
から本質的になる、請求項1に記載の誘電流体。 - 飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルと、
抗酸化剤、酸化防止剤、腐食防止剤、金属不活性化剤、流動点降下剤、及びそれらのうちの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、1つ以上の添加剤と、
からなる、請求項1に記載の誘電流体。 - 前記飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルが、ASTM D92に従って測定した場合、少なくとも250℃の引火点を有し、前記飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルが、ASTM D92に従って測定した場合、少なくとも300℃の燃焼点を有する、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の誘電流体。
- 前記飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルが、飽和ダイマー酸のジアルキルジエステルである、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の誘電流体。
- 前記飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルが、ダイマー酸のジ−2−エチルヘキシルジエステル、ダイマー酸のジヘキシルジエステル、ダイマー酸のジブチルジエステル、ダイマー酸のジペンチルジエステル、及びそれらのうちの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の誘電流体。
- 前記飽和ダイマー酸ジエステルが、−40℃で流動可能である、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の誘電流体。
- 電気部品と、
請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の誘電流体と、
を備える、デバイス。 - 前記電気部品が、変圧器、コンデンサ、スイッチ、レギュレータ、回路遮断器、リクローザ、流体充填伝送線、及びそれらのうちの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項8に記載のデバイス。
- 前記電気部品が変圧器であり、前記誘電流体の少なくとも一部が前記変圧器内に配置される、請求項8に記載のデバイス。
