Description

The present invention relates to a cover body of an airbag device which is an occupant protection device that is mounted on a vehicle or the like and inflates and deploys in an emergency, and is an improvement invention of the invention described in JP-A-2005-104201.

The invention described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2005-104201 of the related art is provided with a decorative means occupying a wide range such as a large emblem occupying a considerable area of the occupant facing surface of the airbag cover or a large-diameter ring-shaped emblem. And the smooth formation of the door for deploying the airbag.
In recent years, when a large-diameter ring-shaped emblem is attached to the airbag cover, defective products due to cracks in the plating part are generated due to deformation at the planned breakage part. It is required to reduce the cost.
In addition, the ring-shaped emblem obtained by injection molding has different wall thicknesses between the location where the groove to be fractured is provided on the back surface and the location adjacent to it, so sink marks on the surface due to the difference in volume shrinkage during resin molding are prevented. Although it is a technology, the emblem structure that can withstand high gloss coating and plating is required due to the growing need for high gloss coating and plating such as piano black and metallic silver on the surface of the emblem in recent years. (For example, see Patent Document 1).
JP-A-2005-104201 (claims, detailed description of the invention, and FIGS. 1 to 7)

Therefore, when the large-diameter ring-shaped emblem is attached to the airbag cover, a defective product may be generated due to cracking of the plating part due to deformation at the planned breakage portion, and it is necessary to reduce the number.
Even if the rigidity of the part to be ruptured is improved, it is necessary to make the emblem rupture smoothly when the airbag is deployed. The ring-shaped emblem obtained by injection molding has a groove to be ruptured on the back surface. Since the wall thickness is different from that of the portion adjacent thereto, a sink is likely to occur on the surface due to the difference in volume shrinkage in resin molding, and a means for solving this is required. Further, in recent years, there is an increasing need for high gloss coating and plating such as piano black and metallic silver on the surface of the emblem, and it is necessary to have a high gloss color coating and an emblem structure that can withstand plating.
Then, this invention provides the airbag cover which solved the said subject.

A first invention of the present invention is an airbag cover as described in claim 1, and is as follows.
An airbag cover having a covering portion for covering a folded airbag, wherein the covering portion is formed with a prearranged door portion that is developed by a tear line that breaks due to the expansion of the airbag, and the covering portion of the covering portion is formed across the tear line. A belt-shaped decorative member having a predetermined width is arranged on the front surface side, and the decorative member is formed at a position corresponding to the tear line facing the covering portion and formed on the bottom along the width direction of the predetermined width. A rupture schedule consisting of a concave portion having a planned line, vertical wall portions formed on both end sides in the width direction so as to define the concave portion, and a notch portion formed along the rupturable line on the vertical wall portion. This is a structure in which a part is formed.

A second invention of the present invention is an airbag cover as described in claim 2, which is as follows.
In addition to the invention described in claim 1, the concave portion has a configuration having an inclined surface that is inclined toward the planned breaking line.

A third invention of the present invention is an airbag cover as described in claim 3, which is as follows.
In addition to the invention described in claim 2, the vertical wall portion includes an inner peripheral vertical wall portion located on the inner peripheral edge side and an outer peripheral vertical wall portion located on the outer peripheral edge side, and is formed on the inner peripheral vertical wall portion. The length dimension of the cutout portion along the concave portion is smaller than the length dimension of the cutout portion formed on the outer peripheral vertical wall portion along the concave portion.

Since the airbag cover according to the present invention has the configuration as described above, it has the effects described below.
(1) In the invention according to claim 1, a belt-shaped decorative member having a predetermined width is arranged on the surface side of the covering portion across the tear line which is broken by the inflation of the airbag, and the decorative member is covered. At a position corresponding to the tear line facing the portion, and having a concave portion having a breaking line formed along the width direction of the predetermined width at the bottom, and a vertical portion formed on both end sides in the width direction so as to define the concave portion. Since the wall portion is formed, it is possible to increase the rigidity around the concave portion (planned breakage portion) of the decorative member. Therefore, when the painted or plated decorative member is attached to the airbag cover, stress is not concentrated around the recesses, and it is possible to prevent problems such as cracks or peeling of the painted or plated parts, resulting in productivity. It is possible to improve the manufacturing cost and reduce the manufacturing cost. Further, since the notch formed along the planned break line is formed in the vertical wall, even if the rigidity of the recess of the decorative member is increased, the break at the planned break part of the emblem can be smoothly and at the time of airbag deployment. It can be done reliably.
(2) In the invention according to claim 2, since the concave portion has an inclined surface that is inclined toward the planned breaking line, occurrence of sink marks that occurs on the surface around the concave portion (planned breaking portion) is suppressed during molding of the decorative member. (The appearance of the surface becomes smooth), and the appearance performance is not impaired. Therefore, it is possible to provide a decorative member that can be applied to coating or plating with a high-gloss color tone.
(3) In the invention according to claim 3, the length dimension in the direction along the recess of the cutout portion formed in the inner peripheral vertical wall portion is the same as the direction in the direction along the recess portion of the cutout portion formed in the outer peripheral vertical wall portion. By making it smaller than the length dimension, when the airbag is deployed, fracture starts from the tear line on the center side of the covering part, the tear lines of the covering part propagate one after another, and the notch in the inner peripheral vertical wall part breaks. At the same time, the recess breaks along the planned breaking line, and the notch in the outer peripheral vertical wall also breaks. Then, the fracture can smoothly and surely proceed to the end along the tear line of the covering portion.
That is, the length dimension of the cutout portion formed in the inner peripheral vertical wall portion of the decorative member in the direction along the recessed portion is made smaller than the length dimension of the cutout portion formed in the outer peripheral vertical wall portion in the direction along the recessed portion. As a result, the deployment pressure of the covering portion can be concentrated on the inner peripheral vertical wall portion of the decorative member, and the planned breaking portion of the decorative member can be reliably broken.

It is the airbag cover in which the part is formed.

Next, as shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the covering portion 21 has an annular recess 23, a back surface has a tear line 25, and a through hole 26 and a tear line slit 27 are formed.
The ring-shaped decorative member 3 is formed by injection molding a soft resin, for example, a polyester elastomer, and the design surface 32 is painted with high-gloss piano black. On the back surface of the decorative member 3, a plurality of leg portions 31 are provided upright at positions corresponding to the through holes 26. As shown in FIG. 9, the leg portion 31 is fixed by thermal caulking.
As the decorative member, a large-diameter ring-shaped member is described in the present embodiment, but a large-diameter C-shaped or U-shaped decorative member may be used.
The tear line 25 is, as shown by a broken line in FIG. 1 and the like, a substantially horizontal H-shaped groove including a central horizontal portion 25a, a pair of side portions 25b continuous in a T shape at both ends thereof, an inclined portion 25c, and a terminal portion 25d. Is formed on the back surface of the covering portion 21, and is integrally formed by the shape engraved in the mold when the cover 2 is injection-molded. A tear line slit 27 is formed at the intersection of the central horizontal portion 25a and the recess 23 instead of the groove.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 8, the recess 23 has a substantially entire width, for example, a length corresponding to 3 mm, the width dimension L1 is about 1 mm, and the through hole 26 is substantially straight in the depth direction.
As shown in FIGS. 5 and 9, the portion of the decorative member 3 that overlaps the tear line slit 27 has a V-shaped planned break groove 35 as a recess having a planned break line, and this planned break groove (planned break portion). 35, which is adjacent to 35, and in which the rupture is directed along the expected rupture lines of the covering portions which are provided on the inner peripheral edge side and the outer peripheral edge side of the decorative member 3 so as to project toward the back surface side with the expected rupture groove 35 interposed therebetween. An inner peripheral edge rib 37 serving as a vertical wall portion on one end side and an outer peripheral edge rib 38 serving as a vertical wall portion on the other end side located on the side where the fracture is directed along the planned fracture line of the covering portion. It is provided.
In other words, the inner peripheral edge rib 37 as the inner peripheral vertical wall portion that is adjacent to the expected fracture groove 35 as the expected fracture portion and is located at the inner peripheral edge side of the expected fracture groove 35, and the outer peripheral vertical wall portion that is located at the outer peripheral edge side. Outer peripheral edge ribs 38 are provided.
The length of the slope on one side of the V-shaped planned fracture groove 35 is 3.7 mm, and the width of the slope is 1.6 mm. The inner peripheral edge rib 37 has a thickness of 0.7 mm, and the outer peripheral edge rib 38 has a thickness of 0.7 mm. The inner peripheral edge rib 37 as the vertical wall portion (inner peripheral vertical wall portion) on one end side and the outer peripheral edge rib 38 as the vertical wall portion (outer peripheral vertical wall portion) on the other end side are inclined toward the planned fracture line of the recess. It is an inclined surface. When the inner peripheral edge rib 37 and the outer peripheral edge rib 38 are viewed from the planned breaking groove 35 side in FIG. 5, they have a substantially inverted triangular shape protruding toward the back surface along the planned breaking groove 35.
The inner peripheral edge rib 37 and the outer peripheral edge rib 38 are provided with V-groove-shaped notches 37a, 38a formed along positions overlapping the valley portions 36 which are the expected fracture lines of the expected fracture groove 35 as the expected fracture portions. It is provided. For example, the width dimension of the V groove 37a on the opening side of the inner peripheral edge rib 37 is 1.1 mm, and the width dimension of the V groove 38a on the opening side of the outer peripheral edge rib 38 is 1.8 mm. The width dimension of the V groove 37a on the opening side of the inner peripheral edge rib 37 is smaller than the width dimension of the V groove 38a on the opening side of the outer peripheral edge rib 38. The cutout portion 37a formed in the inner peripheral edge rib 37 penetrates the inner peripheral edge rib 37, and the cutout portion 38a formed in the outer peripheral edge rib 38 penetrates the outer peripheral edge rib 38. In this embodiment, the V-groove notch is used, but the U-groove notch may be used.

The covering portion 21 of the cover 2 is matte black, and the decorative member 3 is high gloss piano black, so that the interior of the vehicle can be stylish and luxurious. In this embodiment, the decorative member is painted with high-gloss piano black, but it may be painted or plated with metallic silver using a high-gloss paint.
Further, since the V-shaped planned breaking groove 35 of the decorative member 3 has a wall thickness different from that of a portion adjacent thereto, a sink mark is generated on the surface due to a difference in volume shrinkage in resin molding, but the opening angle of the breaking planned groove 35 is increased. With the opening angle of 86 degrees in the present embodiment, the interior of the decorative member 3 is provided adjacent to the planned breaking groove 35 and protrudes toward the rear surface on the inner peripheral edge side and the outer peripheral edge side of the decorative member 3, respectively. By providing the peripheral ribs 37 and the outer peripheral ribs 38, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of sink marks on the design surface of the decorative member 3 in the vicinity of the planned breakage groove 35, and to make the appearance smooth. Therefore, it becomes possible to apply coating or plating with high-gloss color tones such as piano black or metallic silver, which have been in increasing demand in recent years, and the appearance performance is remarkably improved.

Further, by providing the inner peripheral edge rib 37 and the outer peripheral edge rib 38 with the planned breakage groove 35 as a recess interposed therebetween, the rigidity in the vicinity of the planned breakage groove 35 is increased, so that a decorative member having high gloss coating or plating is applied. When the work 3 is attached to the cover 2, stress (strain) is not concentrated around the planned breakage groove 35, and it is possible to prevent the occurrence of defects such as cracking or peeling in painting or plating. As a result, it is possible to prevent defective products from being generated during the work of attaching the decorative member 3, and as a result, productivity is improved and manufacturing cost can be reduced.

Next, the operation of the airbag cover of the present invention will be described.
When the airbag is inflated, the tear line 25 is broken by the pressure of the rising airbag, and the airbag doors 5 and 6 are formed. At this time, the rupture starts from the planned rupture line 25 on the center side of the covering portion 21, and the rupture propagates in the left-right direction along the planned rupture line of the covering portion 21. The inner peripheral edge rib 37 as a peripheral vertical wall portion is broken at the cutout portion of the V groove 37a, and at the same time, is a valley which is a planned break line which is a minimum thickness portion of the V-shaped planned break groove 35 as a recess. A portion that is broken at the portion 36 and the outer peripheral edge rib 38 as a vertical wall portion (outer peripheral vertical wall portion) on the other end side is broken at the notch portion of the V groove 38a and is arranged at each of the airbag doors 5 and 6. It is divided into two parts and deployed together with the airbag doors 5 and 6.
The planned breakage groove 35 of the decorative member 3 improves rigidity around the planned breakage groove 35 by providing an inner peripheral edge rib 37 and an outer peripheral edge rib 38 with the planned breakage groove 35 interposed therebetween. However, the inner peripheral edge rib 37 and the outer peripheral edge rib 38 are provided with notches of the V grooves 37a and 38a penetrating therethrough at positions corresponding to the positions where they overlap the troughs 36 of the planned breakage groove 35, thereby forming a covering portion. When the fracture propagates from the center side to the outer peripheral side of 21, the stress is concentrated on the V groove 37a of the inner peripheral edge rib 37 of the decorative member 3 which is a separate body, so that the inner peripheral edge rib 37 of the decorative member 3 is surely removed. Break. Simultaneously with the break of the inner peripheral edge rib 37, the planned break groove 35 and the outer peripheral edge rib 38 are continuously broken, so that the covering portion 21 and the decorative member 3 are smoothly and surely broken by the deployment pressure of the airbag. be able to.
