Description
The present invention relates to a pressure fluctuation adsorption type oxygen concentrator using an adsorbent that preferentially adsorbs nitrogen over oxygen, and is particularly used for oxygen inhalation therapy performed on patients with chronic respiratory diseases. The present invention relates to a medical oxygen concentrator. More specifically, the present invention relates to an oxygen concentrator capable of continuing operation by switching the power source from a commercial power source to a rechargeable battery when going out or during a power failure.
In recent years, the number of patients suffering from respiratory organ diseases such as asthma, emphysema and chronic bronchitis has been increasing, and one of the most effective treatment methods is oxygen inhalation therapy. Such oxygen inhalation therapy is to allow a patient to inhale oxygen gas or oxygen-enriched gas. Oxygen concentrators, liquid oxygen, oxygen cylinders, etc. are known as oxygen supply sources, but oxygen concentrators are mainly used for home oxygen therapy because of convenience during use and ease of maintenance. .
The oxygen concentrator is a device that concentrates and supplies about 21% of the oxygen present in the air. For this purpose, a membrane oxygen concentrator using a membrane that selectively permeates oxygen and nitrogen or oxygen are given priority. There is a pressure fluctuation adsorption type oxygen concentrator using an adsorbent that can be adsorbed on a surface. Since a concentrated oxygen gas having a high concentration of 90% or more can be obtained, pressure fluctuation adsorption type oxygen concentrators have become mainstream.
The pressure fluctuation adsorption type oxygen concentrator is an air compressed by a compressor in an adsorption cylinder filled with molecular sieve zeolite such as 5A type, 13X type, and Li-X type as an adsorbent that selectively adsorbs nitrogen rather than oxygen. By supplying nitrogen to the adsorbent by reducing the pressure in the adsorption cylinder to atmospheric pressure or lower, by adsorbing nitrogen under pressurized conditions and obtaining an unadsorbed oxygen-enriched gas. The oxygen-enriched gas can be continuously generated by alternately repeating the pressure reduction / desorption regeneration process in which the adsorbent is regenerated by purging off the adsorbed nitrogen.
If the oxygen concentrator configured in this way is installed in a place equipped with an AC power source, which is a commercial power source, for example, home oxygen therapy patients with reduced pulmonary function can safely oxygenate even when they are sleeping. You will be able to smoke and sleep.
On the other hand, when a patient inevitably goes out or a power failure occurs, oxygen is usually inhaled using an oxygen cylinder placed at home. In order to fill the oxygen cylinder that has been emptied with oxygen, it must be performed in a dedicated facility such as a high-pressure gas filling facility, and the delivery and replacement of the cylinder are required. Further, during the operation of switching the oxygen supply source from the oxygen concentrator to the oxygen cylinder, the supply of the oxygen-enriched gas is temporarily disabled, and the patient's QOL (Quality of Life) is considerably impaired.
Therefore, portable and mobile oxygen concentrators equipped with a battery-powered compressor and a battery-driven compressor are available as devices that can be used even when a patient goes out or when a power failure occurs. It has been proposed (
Many oxygen concentrators are equipped with rechargeable batteries as backup power sources to keep the oxygen concentrators running when going out, power supply voltage fluctuations or power outages. If there is an AC power supply at the location where the oxygen concentrator is used, use the AC power supply, and use the battery as a power source when going out or when a power failure occurs. For example, even after a power failure, the oxygen concentrator automatically The operation can be continued and oxygen can be continuously supplied.
The functions necessary for the battery as the backup power supply device are that a predetermined power can be supplied for as long as possible and that the battery can be used for a long time while repeating charging and discharging. In many cases, oxygen concentrators, which are medical devices, are designed to be used continuously by replacing them with a charged spare battery when the battery is dead.
Lithium ion battery packs installed in many of such backup power supply devices have a function of shutting down the output when detecting a voltage at which the battery voltage becomes the lower limit of discharge by its own protection function. However, even after the output is shut off, the battery voltage may decrease until charging / discharging becomes impossible due to natural discharge, which is a characteristic of the lithium ion battery. In order to reduce this risk, when the backup power supply unit is stored and left alone, unnecessary battery consumption is suppressed and the time until the output shutoff function by the protection function is activated is as long as possible. It is desirable. On the other hand, in an apparatus that has reached the end of its battery life, it is necessary to replace the battery.
Patent Document 4 discloses an apparatus that does not start output until it is recognized that the battery is connected to the main body by providing a terminal for recognizing that the battery is detachable and connected. Yes. However, when a battery and a DC-AC inverter equipped with a pseudo sine wave generating circuit are integrated to form a backup power supply unit, the battery is connected to the pseudo sine wave generating circuit to start output and discharge. There is a problem that there is a risk of electric shock to the operator when the backup power supply unit is exchanged.
Furthermore, the battery tends to increase in size, weight, and price as the power supply capacity of the output increases. When the battery is installed in the oxygen concentrator, it greatly affects the size, weight, and price of the machine base. For this reason, a battery having an output power capacity suitable for the expected use time of the device is selected and installed.
On the other hand, in the oxygen concentrator, the power consumed varies greatly depending on the usage environment, supply flow rate, machine history and state of use of the machine base, and the like. In particular, oxygen with the function to control the switching time of the pressurization / adsorption process, decompression / desorption process and the air supply capacity of the compressor based on the information on the ambient temperature and oxygen concentration in the product gas In the concentrator, the amount of fluctuation in power consumption is further increased.
As a result, when the battery is operating, if the deterioration of the adsorbent more than expected, deterioration of parts such as compressors, deterioration of environmental conditions, etc. overlap, the power consumption of the device exceeds the output power capacity of the battery, and as a result However, there is also a problem that the output of the battery is stopped and the operation of the oxygen concentrator cannot be continued.
An oxygen concentrator, which is a medical device, plays a role of continuously supplying oxygen to patients with respiratory diseases, and a device that supplies oxygen safely and stably is required. In the present invention, even when the power of the oxygen concentrator fluctuates depending on the usage environment, set flow rate, machine state, etc., and temporarily exceeds the output power capacity of the battery, when the power is switched to the battery, An oxygen concentrator equipped with a control mechanism for controlling the operation of the oxygen concentrator and capable of continuing the operation is provided.
Furthermore, the present invention aims at extending the life and safety of the backup power supply mounted on the oxygen concentrator, and adding a simple circuit configuration to the backup power supply unit in which the battery and the pseudo sine wave generation circuit are integrated. Thus, a backup power supply device is provided that determines whether or not the oxygen concentrator is connected and controls the start of output.

As means for solving this problem, the present invention provides the following oxygen concentrator.
1. In an oxygen concentrator comprising an adsorption cylinder filled with an adsorbent that selectively adsorbs nitrogen over oxygen, a compressor that supplies compressed air to the adsorption cylinder, and both a commercial power source and a backup power source. The backup power source is a rechargeable battery, and includes a means for predicting the power consumption of the oxygen concentrator. When the power source is switched to the battery, the predicted power value of the predictor exceeds the output capacity of the battery. The predicting means includes means for detecting the motor rotation speed and discharge pressure of the compressor, and based on a predicted value table of power consumption determined in advance from the rotation speed detection value and the discharge pressure detection value, 2. 5. 5. The oxygen concentrator according to any one of the above 2 to 4, wherein the predicting means includes means for detecting current in a circuit of the battery and predicts the output capacity of the battery based on the current detection result.
6). The prediction means includes a storage means for detecting the discharge pressure of the compressor, and the oxygen concentrator determined from the latest maximum discharge pressure and the output capacity of the rechargeable battery when the power source is switched to the rechargeable battery operates. The oxygen concentrator according to any one of 2 to 5 above, which is a means for controlling the motor rotation speed to be equal to or lower than the maximum possible motor rotation speed.
7). The predicting means comprises storage means for detecting the discharge pressure of the compressor, and the maximum motor capable of operating the oxygen concentrator determined from the latest maximum discharge pressure and the output capacity of the battery whose power source is activated by the battery 6. The oxygen concentrator according to any one of 2 to 5, which is means for controlling the motor rotation speed to be equal to or less than the rotation speed.
The compressor consumes most of the power consumption of the oxygen concentrator, and the compressor is the main factor that affects the power consumption depending on the operating environment of the device, the set flow rate, the machine stand state, and the like. Therefore, the apparatus of the present invention has a control means for controlling the motor rotation speed of the compressor to make the power consumption of the machine less than the output capacity of the battery.
The power consumption of the compressor is almost proportional to the compressor discharge pressure and the compressor rotation speed, and can be predicted from this relational expression. The compressor discharge pressure is always measured, and the compressor motor rotation speed upper limit value is less than the battery output capacity. Is calculated and updated regularly. When the power supply is switched from the commercial power supply to the battery, the motor speed of the compressor is controlled within the range that does not exceed the calculated upper limit of the motor speed of the compressor, and the upper limit of the calculated speed is temporarily exceeded. Can continue operation without exceeding the output power capacity of the battery by performing control to immediately reduce the rotational speed.
Also, when the output current is detected by the battery circuit and the output capacity calculated from the output current exceeds the output capacity of the battery, it is measured from the relationship between the compressor discharge pressure and the motor speed of the compressor. The operation can be continued by calculating the number of rotations that can be reduced by the amount exceeding the output capacity based on the compressor discharge pressure and controlling the number of rotations of the compressor.
During operation with a battery, even if the power consumption of the oxygen concentrator temporarily exceeds the output power capacity of the battery due to the operating environment of the device, supply flow rate, machine stand condition, etc., the operation of the oxygen concentrator Can be controlled and operation can be continued.

Embodiment examples of the oxygen concentrator of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

The adsorption cylinder is formed of a cylindrical container filled with the adsorbent, and usually a multi-cylinder type of 3 or more cylinders is used in addition to the single-cylinder type and the double-cylinder type. In order to produce oxygen-enriched air from air, it is preferable to use a multi-cylinder type adsorption cylinder. As the compressor, a swing type air compressor may be used, and a rotary type air compressor such as a screw type, a rotary type, or a scroll type may be used. Further, the power source of the electric motor that drives the compressor may be alternating current or direct current.
Oxygen-enriched air mainly composed of oxygen gas that has not been adsorbed by the
Further, the nitrogen gas adsorbed by the adsorbent filled in the adsorption cylinder needs to be desorbed from the adsorbent in order to adsorb the nitrogen gas again from the newly introduced raw material air. For this purpose, the pressurized state realized by the compressor is switched to the atmospheric pressure state or the negative pressure state below atmospheric pressure by the flow path switching valve, and the adsorbent is regenerated by desorbing the adsorbed nitrogen gas. In this desorption process, in order to increase the desorption efficiency, the oxygen-enriched gas may be caused to flow back as a purge gas from the product end side or product tank of the adsorption cylinder during the adsorption process. In general, a loud air flow noise is generated when nitrogen is desorbed, and therefore a

Switching to another oxygen supply means can be performed in a state where the oxygen supply is continued, and the patient using this apparatus can use it safely.
The backup power supply device mounted on the oxygen concentrator of the present invention is composed of a battery and a pseudo sine wave generating circuit, and each backup power supply device is provided with a safety function so that it is not output alone. Judgment means A is provided for confirming connection with a device on which it is mounted. The battery is equipped with a pseudo sine wave generation circuit connection confirmation signal line for confirming that the battery is connected to the pseudo sine wave generation circuit. The pseudo sine wave generation circuit is connected to the oxygen concentrator. A main body connection confirmation signal line for confirming this is provided. These connection confirmation signal lines are designed to start outputting when connected to the GND of the pseudo sine wave generation circuit.
In the present invention, the pseudo sine wave generation circuit connection confirmation signal line and the main body connection confirmation signal line are shared on the pseudo sine wave generation circuit. As a result, the output does not start just by connecting the battery and the pseudo sine wave generating circuit, and when the backup power supply is connected to the machine base, the connection confirmation signal lines of the battery and the pseudo sine wave generating circuit are simultaneously connected to GND. Connected so that the backup power supply starts output.
On the other hand, the oxygen concentrator equipped with the backup power supply device also includes determination means B for determining whether the backup power supply device is installed. A backup power supply connection confirmation signal line is provided, and when the backup power supply device is incorporated, the backup power supply connection confirmation signal line of the oxygen concentrator is designed to be connected to GND on the oxygen concentrator side electrical circuit. In addition, it is possible to check whether or not a backup power source is installed on the battery-powered device body side.
Therefore, the present invention can provide the following backup power supply device or an oxygen concentrator equipped with the same.

The battery and the pseudo sine wave generation circuit can be driven with the backup power supply device as an output start condition. Determining means A for confirming connection with a device, and the determining means A includes a pseudo sine wave generation circuit connection recognition signal line, which is an output start condition of the battery, and an output start of the pseudo sine wave generation circuit. A signal line for body connection confirmation as a condition is provided, and both the signal lines are shared on the pseudo sine wave generation circuit, so that the battery and the pseudo sine wave are generated when connected to the battery driveable device. A backup power supply device characterized in that it is means for simultaneously checking connection of circuits and starting output.

According to the present invention, it is possible to suppress power consumption even if a backup power supply device including a battery and a pseudo sine wave generating circuit is left alone. Further, if the backup power supply device is left alone for a long period of time, the voltage is stepped down to a voltage range where the battery cannot be used for charging or discharging, but the time until that time can be extended. Furthermore, since the backup power supply unit alone does not output, it is possible to reduce the risk of electric shock to the operator and provide a safer device.
The configuration of the backup power source installed in the oxygen concentrator of the present invention will be further described with reference to the drawings.
