Claims (1)
- 吸気バルブを吸気下死点よりも早いタイミングで閉弁可能であるとともに、点火プラグの中心電極と接地電極との間に発生する火花放電と気筒の燃焼室内に臨むアンテナを介して燃焼室内に放射される電界とを相互作用させて燃焼室内にプラズマを生成し燃料に着火するアクティブ点火を実行可能な内燃機関であって、
アクセル開度が所定以下の低負荷領域において、吸気バルブの閉弁タイミングを吸気下死点よりも早めながら点火プラグの電極間の火花放電に加えてアンテナを介して燃焼室内に電界を放射するアクティブ点火を実行する一方、低負荷領域以外の運転領域において、吸気バルブの閉弁タイミングを吸気下死点よりも早めつつもアクティブ点火を実行せず火花放電のみによる点火を実行する内燃機関。
