上記のように形成した取付装置の取付手順、取付後の作用及び効果について、図6(a)〜(c)と図7(a)〜(c)に基づいて以下に説明する。
マンホールの周壁5に設けてある削孔5aに、下水道本管4を取り付けた状態の弾性筒体1の一方側開口1aを有する側の端部を挿通する。次に、弾性筒体1の一方側開口1aの内周側に設けてある外環設置溝14に外環3を配置し、さらに、その外環3の内周に内環2を配置する。このとき、弾性筒体1と外環3の間には、間隙Sが存在することから、内環2の各螺合孔8に仮締めしてある締付具11をそれぞれ締結していき、各締付具11の先端で外環3の内周側を押圧し、外環3を拡開させる。
このときに外環3は、図6(a)〜(c)のように、各締付具11の締付時に発生する軸力が内周部に伝わることで、締付具11の先端を中心に外環3が供回りし、外環3が弾性筒体1の所定の位置から外れようとする。これに対して、外環3の内周部に設けてある各係止部12が内環2のそれぞれに対応する被係止部13に挿通し、外環3の孔挿通方向に係止することにより、締付具11の締付時に発生する軸力に抗する構造となる。さらに、各締付具11の先端からの押圧力で、外環3は弾性筒体1側に押し拡げられるが、内環2の被係止部13が周方向に長い長孔状に形成してあることで、図7(a)〜(c)のように、被係止部13に係止している係止部12が長孔状の被係止部13に沿って外環3の周方向に移動し、内環2との係止状態を保ったまま締付具11による外環3の拡開に対応する。また、外環3の拡開とともに、外環3の分断された一端部3aと他端部3b間の間隔Pも拡がるが、一端部3aの案内凸部10aと他端部3bの案内凹部10bが嵌り合うことにより、外環3の一端部3aと他端部3bが孔挿通方向には規制されつつも、外環3の周方向のみにスライドする。これにより、外環3の分断した一端部3aと他端部3bの間には、外環3の拡開の度合いに関わらず、案内凸部10aと案内凹部10bと受け部材9が常に配置される。したがって、外環3が拡開して一端部3aと他端部3bの間隙Pが拡がっても、案内凸部10aと案内凹部10bの合わさりによって、外環3が常に周方向に連続する。このことから、外環3を弾性筒体1の内周側に取り付けたときに、案内凸部10aと案内凹部10bが孔挿通方向に係止することで、外環3が締付具11との共回りで弾性筒体1内で孔挿通方向に回転して外れることがなく、さらに、上記の回転を防ぐために外環3を固定する手間も要さない。また、外環3が拡開しても、その分断箇所の内周側に受け部材9が常に配置されることから、仮に締付具11が分断箇所に位置しても、その締付力からの押圧力をしっかりと受けることができる。上記のことから、弾性筒体1をマンホールの周壁5の削孔5aに精度よく安定して取り付けられることになる。
