Description
Claims (24)
- 脳の表面と接触させる皮質検知デバイスであって、
可撓性適合可能材料からなり、第1の表面を有する支持部材と、
前記支持部材に対して固定され、マクロ電極脳接触面を有する少なくとも1つのマクロ電極検知素子と、
前記マクロ電極検知素子に対して固定され、前記マクロ電極脳接触面によって包囲されるマイクロ電極脳接触面を有する少なくとも1つのマイクロ電極検知素子と、
を備え、前記第1の表面、前記マクロ電極脳接触面及び前記マイクロ電極脳接触面は、感知及び監視のために前記脳の前記表面に当接するように実質的に同一平面をなす、脳の表面と接触させる皮質検知デバイス。 - 前記マイクロ電極検知素子は、前記マイクロ電極検知素子と前記マクロ電極検知素子との間の電気的相互作用を防ぐために、その長さに沿って前記マイクロ電極脳接触面まで生体適合性材料で絶縁されるマイクロワイヤである、請求項1に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記マクロ電極検知素子から延在するリードワイヤを更に含み、前記リードワイヤ及び前記マイクロワイヤは、前記支持部材に埋め込まれ、遠方への電気的接続のために前記支持部材から出るように該支持部材に沿って延在する、請求項2に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記マイクロ電極検知素子は前記脳内の細胞のニューロン活動信号を監視するように構成され、一方、前記マクロ電極検知素子は前記脳からのEEG脳活動信号を監視するように構成される、請求項1に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記マクロ電極検知素子は平坦部材であり、前記支持部材によって係合される周辺部分を有する、請求項1に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記マクロ電極検知素子は、前記マクロ電極脳接触面が前記支持部材の前記第1の表面と実質的に同一平面をなすように、その周囲に、前記支持部材によって係合される凹型フランジを有する、請求項1に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記マクロ電極検知素子は、前記マクロ電極脳接触面の反対側にある背面を有し、その上にある生体適合性エポキシが前記マイクロ電極検知素子を前記マクロ電極検知素子に更に固定する、請求項1に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記支持部材は誘電体生体適合性材料から形成される、請求項1に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記支持部材は、医療用若しくは埋込用シリコーン、又はポリウレタン若しくは他の生体適合性エラストマーからなる、請求項1に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記マクロ電極検知素子上に互いに離間して配置される複数の前記マイクロ電極検知素子を更に含む、請求項1に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記支持部材は、それに沿って複数のマクロ電極検知素子を有する細長いストリップ又はグリッドアレイであり、各マクロ電極検知素子は前記マイクロ電極検知素子のうちの少なくとも1つを有する、請求項1に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記支持部材は、
前記マクロ電極検知素子及びその関連するマイクロ電極検知素子(複数の場合もある)を含み、周辺部分を有する中心部分と、
その周囲にある複数の可撓性パッドであって、各パッドは前記周辺部分に沿って位置し、自らの中心を有し、該複数のパッドは、前記中心が同一直線上にないように位置決めされる、複数の可撓性パッドと、
を備え、
それにより、前記可撓性パッドが前記検知デバイスと脳表面との係合を容易にする、請求項1に記載の検知デバイス。 - 前記マクロ電極検知素子は、12.7μm〜101.6μmの厚みと、1.0mm〜10.0mmの直径とを有する単一の材料層から構成される、請求項1に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記材料はステンレス鋼であるか、又はプラチナ合金、金合金、パラジウム合金、イリジウム合金及びルテニウム合金並びにそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される貴金属合金である、請求項13に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記マイクロ電極脳接触面は10μm〜250μmの直径を有する、請求項1に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記マイクロ電極検知素子は、プラチナ合金、金合金、パラジウム合金、イリジウム合金及びルテニウム合金並びにその組み合わせからなる群から選択される貴金属合金から構成される、請求項15に記載の検知デバイス。
- 脳組織と接触させるための検知デバイスであって、
空洞を画定する外面及び内面を有する可撓性支持スリーブと、
前記外面に対して固定され、マクロ電極脳接触面を有する少なくとも1つのマクロ電極検知素子と、
各マクロ電極検知素子に固定され、前記空洞の中に、かつ前記空洞に沿って延在するリードワイヤと、
前記マクロ電極検知素子に対して固定され、前記マクロ電極脳接触面によって包囲されるマイクロ電極脳接触面を有する少なくとも1つのマイクロ電極検知素子と、
各マイクロ電極検知素子に固定され、前記空洞の中に、かつ前記空洞に沿って延在するマイクロワイヤと、
を備え、前記マクロ電極脳接触面及び前記マイクロ電極脳接触面は感知及び監視のために脳組織に当接するように実質的に同じ曲面をなす、脳組織と接触させるための検知デバイス。 - 前記マイクロワイヤは、前記マイクロ電極検知素子とマクロ電極検知素子との間の電気的相互作用を防ぐために、その長さに沿って生体適合性材料で絶縁される、請求項17に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記マイクロ電極検知素子は前記脳内の細胞のニューロン活動信号を監視するように構成され、一方、前記マクロ電極検知素子は前記脳からのEEG脳活動信号を監視するように構成される、請求項17に記載の検知デバイス。

- 前記マクロ電極検知素子は、12.7μm〜101.6μmの厚みと、0.3mm〜5.0mmの直径とを有する単一の材料層から構成される、請求項17に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記マクロ電極検知素子はステンレス鋼であるか、又はプラチナ合金、金合金、パラジウム合金、イリジウム合金及びルテニウム合金並びにそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される貴金属合金である、請求項21に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記マイクロ電極脳接触面は10μm〜250μmの直径を有する、請求項17に記載の検知デバイス。
- 前記マイクロ電極検知素子は、プラチナ合金、金合金、パラジウム合金、イリジウム合金及びルテニウム合金並びにそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選択される貴金属合金から構成される、請求項23に記載の検知デバイス。
