Description

The present invention relates to a wide converter lens that is mounted on the object side of a photographic lens and realizes a shorter focal length.

Digital cameras that are becoming widespread are required to have higher image quality, higher zoom ratio, smaller size, and lower power consumption.

Digital cameras need to be developed based on these demands.

One means for achieving a high zoom ratio is to mount a wide converter lens on the main lens to achieve a “focal length shorter than the focal length of the main lens”.

In particular, many front-type wide converters having an “afocal wide converter lens” mounted on the object side of the main lens have been proposed.

As digital cameras are being developed for higher image quality, higher zoom ratio, smaller size, and lower power consumption, wide converter lenses are also required to realize similar functions.

As the “front wide converter”, “a lens having three negative, negative, and positive lenses arranged from the object side to the image side” is widely known (for example, Patent Documents 1 to 4). .

Those disclosed in these patent documents that disclose specific examples of the main lens to be mounted have a large F number and a small angle of view.

Recently, many digital cameras intended for practical use are equipped with a bright and wide-angle lens having an angle of view larger than 90 degrees and an F number of 2 or less.

In order to attach a conventionally known wide converter lens to such a large-diameter and wide-angle main lens, it is necessary to enlarge the wide converter lens.

Further, if a large-sized wide converter lens is attached, the imaging performance may be deteriorated.

An object of the present invention is to realize a small, high-performance wide converter lens that can be mounted on a “small, high-performance large-aperture, wide-angle main lens” that has become the mainstream.

Hereinafter, embodiments will be described.
1 to 4 show four examples of the embodiment.
The embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 corresponds to Examples 1 to 4 described later in this order.

The embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 is an example in which a zoom lens as a photographing lens is a main lens, and a wide converter lens is detachably mounted on the object side of the main lens.

In order to avoid complications, the symbols are shared in these drawings.

1-4, the symbol WCN indicates a “wide converter lens” and the symbol MLN indicates a “zoom lens”.

The zoom lens MLN, which is the main lens, has a four-group configuration, and includes a first group G1, a second group G2, a third group G3, and a fourth group G4 from the object side (left side in the figure).

Reference numeral S denotes an “aperture stop”, which is disposed between the second group G2 and the third group G3.

1 to 4, the uppermost diagram shows the “short focal end” lens arrangement, the middle diagram shows the “intermediate focal length” lens arrangement, and the lower diagram shows the “long focal far end” lens arrangement.

Also, the arrows drawn between the upper and middle diagrams and between the middle and lower diagrams indicate the first to fourth groups G4 and the aperture stop S during zooming from the short focal end to the long focal end. Indicates the direction of transition.

In each of the above figures, the symbol F drawn on the right side of the figure indicates a “transparent parallel plate”.

In a “camera apparatus using an image sensor such as a CCD or CMOS” such as a digital camera, a low-pass filter, an infrared cut glass, or the like is provided close to the light receiving surface of the image sensor.
Further, the light receiving surface of the solid-state image sensor is protected by a “cover glass”.

The “transparent parallel plate” is obtained by virtually replacing various filters such as a low-pass filter and a cover glass with “a transparent parallel plate optically equivalent to these”.
In the embodiment, it is described as “filter or the like”.

Since the front type wide converter is mounted on the object side of the main lens, the lens position closest to the object side is far from the entrance pupil of the main lens, and the size of the optical system tends to increase.
When the wide converter lens is composed of “two negative and positive lenses”, it is necessary to reduce “the distance between the main points of the negative and positive lenses” in order to prevent the enlargement of the optical system.
For this reason, it is necessary to increase the refractive power of each of the negative and positive lenses. However, if the refractive power is increased, a large amount of aberration occurs, making it difficult to obtain a good aberration correction.
Further, if it is attached to a main lens having a large aperture and a wide angle, it is more difficult to correct good aberrations, and the imaging performance tends to be lowered.
In order to realize a good correction of aberration, it is conceivable that the wide converter lens is composed of four or more lenses, but this is not preferable from the viewpoint of miniaturization and cost.
In particular, “the main lens has a large aperture and wide angle” becomes prominent because the lens diameter increases.

Therefore, in the present invention, the wide converter lens is composed of all three lenses.

As shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, the wide converter lens WCN includes a first lens L1, a second lens L2, and a third lens L3 in order from the object side to the image side (right side in the figure). .

The first lens L1 is a meniscus negative lens having a convex surface facing the object side, and the second lens L2 is a meniscus negative lens having a convex surface facing the object side.
The third lens L3 is a positive lens having a convex surface facing the object side.

The wide converter lens WCN has the above-mentioned conditions:
(1) -3.5 <(R2 + R1) / (R2-R1) <-2.5
(2) 0.40 <d2 / D <0.55
Satisfied.

Condition (1) defines the shape of the first lens L1.
If the upper limit value of the condition (1) is exceeded, the curvature of the first surface becomes weak, and if a wide angle of view is obtained, the incident angle becomes large, and it becomes difficult to obtain good off-axis aberration correction.
Moreover, it leads also to the enlargement of a 1st lens.
When the lower limit value of the condition (1) is exceeded, the curvatures of the first surface and the second surface become close, the power of the first lens L1 becomes weak, and the negative power is biased toward the second lens.

This is disadvantageous in correcting the aberration of the wide converter lens.

Condition (2) defines “the size of the first lens for the entire wide converter system”.
If the upper limit value of the condition (2) is exceeded, the total length of the wide converter is shortened, so that the “degree of freedom for the shape” of the second lens L2 and the third lens L3 is limited.

This makes it difficult to correct aberrations favorably.

When the lower limit value of the condition (2) is exceeded, the entire length of the wide converter lens becomes long, the first lens L1 becomes large, and it is difficult to correct aberrations of off-axis rays passing through the end of each lens surface.

The wide converter lens of the present invention can achieve better performance by satisfying one or more of the following conditions (3) to (12) together with the above conditions (1) and (2).

(3) 1.60 < na <1.75
(4) 50 < ν < 60
(5) 10 < ν12 - ν3 < 15

(7) 0.7 < (R6+R5) / (R6-R5) < 1.2
(8) 1.0 < f1 / f2 < 1.7
(9) 0.7 < R2 / R5 < 1.2
(10) -2.0 < (R4+R3) / (R4-R3) < -1.0
(11) 0.8 < R4 / R5 < 1.5
(12) 0.20 < d5 / D ≦ 0.4082
(3) 1.60 <na <1.75
(4) 50 <ν <60
(5) 10 <ν12-ν3 <15
(6) -0.75 <f12 / f3 <-0.65
(7) 0.7 <(R6 + R5) / (R6-R5) <1.2
(8) 1.0 <f1 / f2 <1.7
(9) 0.7 <R2 / R5 <1.2
(10) -2.0 <(R4 + R3) / (R4-R3) <-1.0
(11) 0.8 <R4 / R5 <1.5
(12) 0.20 <d5 / D ≤ 0.4082 .

Condition (6) defines “ratio of the combined focal length of the first lens and the second lens and the focal length of the third lens”.
If the upper limit of condition (6) is exceeded, the magnification of the wide converter lens will be small, but various aberrations will be large and correction will be difficult.
When the lower limit of condition (6) is exceeded, the magnification of the wide converter lens tends to increase, and the focal length reduction effect of the wide converter lens tends to decrease.

Condition (12) defines “the size of the third lens with respect to the entire wide converter lens system”.
When the upper limit value of the condition (12) is exceeded, the thickness of the third lens is increased, and the wide converter lens is likely to be enlarged.
Alternatively, the degree of freedom of the shape of the second lens and the third lens is reduced, and it is difficult to perform good aberration correction.
If the lower limit of condition (12) is exceeded, the effect of correcting various aberrations generated by the negative lens on the object side with the third lens is reduced, which tends to be disadvantageous for aberration correction.
