Description
The present invention relates to a 2-cyanoacrylate adhesive composition suitable for adhering foamed polystyrene.
The 2-cyanoacrylate-based adhesive composition containing 2-cyanoacrylate ester has a slight amount of moisture adhering to the adherend surface due to the unique anionic polymerization property of 2-cyanoacrylate ester, which is the main component. Polymerization is initiated by the weak anion, and various materials can be firmly bonded in a short time. Therefore, it is used as a so-called instantaneous adhesive in a wide range of fields such as industrial use, medical use and home use. However, when trying to adhere the expanded polystyrene using the conventional 2-cyanoacrylate-based adhesive composition, the expanded polystyrene in the portion where the adhesive is applied is dissolved, and thus it cannot be adhered favorably. When adhering foamed polystyrene, a hot melt adhesive (Patent Document 1), an epoxy adhesive (Patent Document 2), and the like are used.
On the other hand, in order to improve the function of the 2-cyanoacrylate adhesive composition, it is disclosed that various carbonate compounds are blended. For example, Patent Document 3 describes a 2-cyanoacrylate composition obtained by blending a carbonate compound such as dialkyl carbonate or alkylene carbonate. Patent Document 4 describes a 2-cyanoacrylate composition containing ethylene carbonate.
However, the hot melt adhesive disclosed in Patent Document 1 has a problem that an applicator for melt-coating the adhesive is required and that the foamed polystyrene is deformed by heat. Moreover, the epoxy adhesive as disclosed in Patent Document 2 needs to measure and mix the main agent and the curing agent, and has a problem in workability.
On the other hand, although the 2-cyanoacrylate-based composition described in Patent Documents 3 and 4 is used as an adhesive, the adherend is a rubber or a steel plate, and there are problems in bonding foamed polystyrene. The solution is not disclosed at all.
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object thereof is to provide a one-pack type fast-curing adhesive composition excellent in adhesiveness without dissolving foamed polystyrene.
The inventors of the present invention contain 2-cyanoacrylate ester, a specific carbonate compound and an anionic polymerization accelerator, and the 2-cyanoacrylate adhesive composition having a predetermined amount of the carbonate compound contains almost no expanded polystyrene. It discovered that it was excellent in adhesiveness, without melt | dissolving, and came to complete this invention.

The 2-cyanoacrylate-based adhesive composition for polystyrene foam of the present invention (hereinafter also simply referred to as “adhesive composition”) includes 2-cyanoacrylate (A), a specific carbonate compound (B), and an anion. A polymerization accelerator (C) is contained, and the content of the carbonate compound (B) is 15 to 60% by mass with respect to the total amount of the components (A) and (B). Hereinafter, the adhesive composition will be described in detail.

Examples of the 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester include methyl, ethyl, chloroethyl, n-propyl, i-propyl, allyl, propargyl, n-butyl, i-butyl, n-pentyl, n-hexyl of 2-cyanoacrylic acid, Cyclohexyl, phenyl, tetrahydrofurfuryl, heptyl, 2-ethylhexyl, n-octyl, 2-octyl, n-nonyl, oxononyl, n-decyl, n-dodecyl, methoxyethyl, methoxypropyl, methoxyisopropyl, methoxybutyl, ethoxyethyl , Ethoxypropyl, ethoxyisopropyl, propoxymethyl, propoxyethyl, isopropoxyethyl, propoxypropyl, butoxymethyl, butoxyethyl, butoxypropyl, butoxyisopropyl, butoxybutyl, 2,2,2-trif Oroechiru and esters, such as hexafluoro isopropyl. These 2-cyanoacrylic acid esters may be used alone or in combination of two or more. When used in combination, the combination is not particularly limited.
The “carbonate compound (B)” has an effect of suppressing the dissolution of the expanded polystyrene by the adhesive composition. The carbonate compound used in the present invention is a compound represented by the following general formula (1) (hereinafter also simply referred to as “carbonate compound”), and specifically, ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate, 1,2-butylene. Examples include carbonate and styrene carbonate. Among these, ethylene carbonate or propylene carbonate is preferable, and ethylene carbonate is particularly preferable because it has a large effect of suppressing the dissolution of the expanded polystyrene. Moreover, these carbonate compounds may use only 1 type and may use 2 or more types together.
Content of the carbonate compound in an adhesive composition is 15-60 mass% with respect to the total amount of 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester and a carbonate compound. The content is preferably 20 to 55% by mass, and more preferably 25 to 50% by mass. Moreover, when an adhesive composition contains the thickener mentioned later, it is set as the said content with respect to the total amount of 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester, a carbonate compound, and a thickener. If the content of the carbonate compound is less than 15% by mass, the effect of suppressing the dissolution of the expanded polystyrene is insufficient, and excellent adhesiveness cannot be obtained. On the other hand, when the content of the carbonate compound exceeds 60% by mass, the adhesion rate is lowered and the adhesion to the polystyrene foam tends to be lowered.
The “anionic polymerization accelerator (C)” is a component that adjusts the curability of the adhesive composition and improves the adhesiveness to the expanded polystyrene, and is known as a curing accelerator of the 2-cyanoacrylate-based adhesive composition. Among these anionic polymerization accelerators, polyalkylene oxides, crown ethers, silacrown ethers, calixarenes, oxacalixarenes from the viewpoints of curability of the adhesive composition, adhesion to expanded polystyrene and storage stability. Cyclodextrins and pyrogallol-based cyclic compounds are preferable, and calixarenes and oxacalixarenes are more preferable. These anionic polymerization accelerators may be used alone or in combination of two or more.

Any of these fumed silicas can be used, but hydrophobic silica is preferred because of its good dispersibility in 2-cyanoacrylate. The preferable addition amount of the thixotropic agent is 1 to 20 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester.
The adhesive composition of the present invention can be used in the same manner as a conventional 2-cyanoacrylate adhesive composition. It is possible to fix the adherend after 10 to 60 seconds by applying an appropriate amount to the styrofoam which is the adherend and quickly bonding them together.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to examples. However, the present invention is not limited to these examples as long as the gist of the present invention is not exceeded. In the following, “part” and “%” are based on mass unless otherwise specified.
1. Evaluation Method (1) Viscosity Viscosity was measured with an E-type viscometer under the conditions of 25 ° C. and 1 rpm.
(2) Styrofoam Adhesion Test As shown in FIG. 1, a 15 mm-thick foam polystyrene plate (manufactured by Kuriyama Kasei Co., Ltd., 60 times expansion ratio) was bonded to two hard vinyl chloride resins (Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, trade name “Hishi”). Plate 101 "(hereinafter abbreviated as" PVC ") and bonded, and after curing at room temperature for 24 hours, a tensile test was performed according to JIS K6849. The adhesion area of PVC and polystyrene foam was 12.7 mm × 12.7 mm, and the tensile speed was measured at 10 mm / min. “Material breakage” in Table 2 represents that the expanded polystyrene was destroyed.
(3) Solubility of Styrofoam 0.1 g of the 2-cyanoacrylate adhesive composition was applied to the surface of the foamed polystyrene, and the degree of dissolution of the foamed polystyrene was evaluated by observing the coated surface 24 hours after the coating.
2.2 Production of 2-cyanoacrylate adhesive composition Example 1
40 ppm sulfur dioxide and 1000 ppm hydroquinone (100 parts by mass of ethyl 2-cyanoacrylate) are added to ethyl 2-cyanoacrylate, and ethylene carbonate and a thickener [polymethyl methacrylate, molecular weight 30 are added thereto. [Men] was blended so as to have the contents shown in Table 1, and dissolved by stirring at room temperature. Next, an anionic polymerization accelerator [tetrakis (4-t-butyl-2-methylenephenoxy) ethyl acetate] was blended so as to have the content shown in Table 1, and dissolved by stirring at room temperature. A composition was prepared. The evaluation results are shown in Tables 2 and 3.
Examples 2 to 4 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6
An adhesive composition was produced in the same manner as in Example 1 except that the type and amount of the carbonate compound and the presence or absence of the thickener were changed. The evaluation results are shown in Tables 2 and 3.
According to the results in Table 2, the adhesive compositions of Examples 1 and 2 exhibit adhesiveness such that the expanded polystyrene completely destroys the material in the expanded polystyrene adhesion test. When the fracture surface of the PVC of Example 2 is observed, it can be seen that the PVC and the expanded polystyrene are sufficiently adhered, and the expanded polystyrene is broken into blocks (FIG. 2). On the other hand, in the adhesive compositions of Comparative Examples 1, 3, and 4, sufficient polystyrene is not obtained because the polystyrene foam is dissolved. The fracture surface of the PVC of Comparative Example 3 was partially broken in a honeycomb shape, and dissolution of the expanded polystyrene was observed (FIG. 4). Moreover, since the adhesive composition of Comparative Example 2 does not contain an anionic polymerization accelerator, it peels off at the surface layer of the expanded polystyrene (FIG. 3), and sufficient adhesiveness cannot be obtained.
According to the result of Table 3, it turns out that the carbonate compound outside the range of this invention melt | dissolves a polystyrene foam.
The adhesive composition of the present invention enables adhesion of expanded polystyrene that could not be bonded with conventional 2-cyanoacrylate-based adhesive compositions.
