Description
The present invention relates to an autonomous traveling device that autonomously travels to a destination, and more particularly to an autonomous traveling device that can reflect a user's intention when sensing a surrounding environment and autonomously determining a traveling route according to the result.
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, an autonomous traveling device that autonomously travels to a destination on a general public road where infrastructure such as traveling rails and guides is not installed is estimated by a sensor such as a satellite positioning system or a range sensor. Autonomous traveling devices that run with people on them include an automobile type that travels on a roadway and a personal mobility type that can travel on a sidewalk. The autonomous traveling device travels while detecting surrounding people and objects with sensors, and seeking a route for avoiding collision so as not to collide with or come into contact with them. In particular, people, bicycles and other vehicles move vertically and horizontally in a wide area without a sidewalk or lane. In addition, there are many things that obstruct driving, such as people who talk, signs and decorations, and grass. There are various routes to travel while avoiding collisions with obstacles, depending on whether the obstacles are avoided from the right or left, how far away from the obstacles, and the like. Conventionally, in order to select a route to travel from, the selection has been made by evaluating the shortest time to reach the target position, the shortest route, or the like. Further, a method for reflecting the operator's intention in the selection has been disclosed.
For example, in Patent Document 1, an obstacle that is an obstacle to travel is detected, a waypoint passing through the left or right of each obstacle is calculated, and an avoidance route that connects the waypoints of each obstacle is obtained. And (1) the shortest path, (2) the shortest arrival time, (3) the minimum angle change, (4) the minimum speed change, (5) passing behind the moving obstacle, (6) the width of the avoidance path At least one of the areas is evaluated, a priority is set, and an avoidance route is selected.
Further, in
When a person avoids surrounding people or objects while moving, judgments differ depending on the person such as avoiding from the right, avoiding from the left, avoiding distance, avoiding speed, and the like. Therefore, if the autonomous traveling device performs an avoidance method different from the judgment of each person when riding on the autonomous traveling device, there is a possibility of giving a strange feeling to the person who is riding. For example, if you are closer to the obstacle than the distance that the rider wants to secure, or if you think that it is appropriate to avoid from the right when viewed from the surroundings, avoid from the left, It will give you a sense of incompatibility. On the other hand, if you run away slowly from the obstacle than the distance you think is appropriate, you will feel frustrated. In Patent Document 1, consideration for this point is not sufficient when selecting an avoidance route.
On the other hand, in
In view of such problems, the present invention is an autonomous system capable of reflecting a passenger's intention in route selection while smooth running in order to reduce psychological effects such as a sense of discomfort to the passenger and improve comfort. It is to provide a traveling device.
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention includes the following means.
Obstacle detection means for detecting an obstacle that is an obstacle to travel, and one or more avoidance routes for avoiding the detected obstacle are planned, and an avoidance route plan for selecting one avoidance route according to a predetermined rule therefrom And a travel unit that controls the travel mechanism to travel according to the selected avoidance route, a display unit that presents one or more planned avoidance routes to the user, And an avoidance method operating means for the user to select an arbitrary route from the inside, and after the avoidance route presenting means starts presenting the avoidance route, the user operates the avoidance method operation means within the selection period to select the avoidance route. In this case, the avoidance route planning unit changes the selected avoidance route to the avoidance route selected by the user, and the traveling control unit controls the traveling mechanism so as to travel according to the changed selected avoidance route.
According to the autonomous traveling device of the present invention, it is possible to perform an obstacle avoidance traveling while reflecting a passenger's obstacle avoidance judgment while performing a smooth traveling, thereby improving the comfort by suppressing the passenger's uncomfortable feeling. It is possible.
Problems, configurations, and effects other than those described above will be clarified by the following description of embodiments.

Reference numeral 7 denotes an avoidance route planning unit, and the program 7p of the avoidance route planning unit 7 is avoided when traveling according to the route planned by the route planning unit 5 based on the position and shape of the object detected by the obstacle detection unit 6. It is a program that determines whether there is something to be avoided and, if there is something to avoid, plans an avoidance route. Hereinafter, for the sake of convenience, there is nothing to be avoided, and even when traveling according to the route, the traveling route is referred to as an avoidance route.
There are various avoidance route planning methods, and the following three methods are typical.
(A) A potential method in which a virtual repulsive force acts on an autonomous traveling device from an obstacle and a virtual attractive force acts on a destination direction, and the resultant force is a traveling direction.
(B) As shown in Patent Document 1, a waypoint method is provided in which waypoints are provided on the left and right of an obstacle, and the waypoints of each obstacle are connected in the direction of the destination.
(C) A free space search method for detecting left and right free spaces of an obstacle and setting a route in the free space.
Of these, the potential method can only determine the direction of travel from the current position, so in order to determine the avoidance path, the direction of travel from the current position is determined, virtually advances in that direction for a certain time, and the resultant force is again at that position. The step of determining the direction of travel and determining the traveling direction is repeated several times to obtain an avoidance route. When planning an avoidance route, in general, the avoidance route is planned starting from a position on the traveling direction side of a certain distance from the current position of the autonomous mobile device 1 in consideration of control delay and follow-up delay to the wheel motor.
Among the above three methods, the methods (b) and (c) can plan a plurality of avoidance routes, but the potential method can obtain only one avoidance route. In the present invention, it is necessary to obtain a plurality of avoidance routes so that the user can select other avoidance routes. Therefore, in the potential method, for example, another avoidance route is planned by performing a method such as obtaining a resultant force by applying a virtual force to the left or right at a constant rate.
When planning an avoidance route, it is desirable to adjust the avoidance width from the obstacle (distance taken between the obstacles) and the passing speed with the obstacle according to the characteristics of the obstacle. When avoiding a stationary object, the avoidance width is narrow and the normal speed may be sufficient. However, when avoiding humans, it is safer to increase the avoidance width and slow the speed in preparation for a sudden change in human movement. is there. In addition, when one or two grasses are growing, it is possible to cross over. FIG. 2 shows an example in which the obstacle characteristic is expressed by the cautiousness, and the width and the speed are set according to the cautiousness. The prudence is divided into a plurality of levels, for example, normal, high, and very high. A stationary object is determined to have a characteristic that it is normal in the first stage, a human being is high in the second stage, and a thing that may have a sudden movement change such as a bicycle or a child is very high in the third stage. The second stage requires a higher degree of caution (caution) than the first stage, and the third stage requires a higher degree of caution than the second stage. A stationary object, a person, a bicycle, a child, or the like is identified by a shape, a change in position or shape from the previous obstacle detection information, a color of a camera image, or the like. For example, when the degree of prudentity is normal, the speed at the time of passing is normal and the avoidance width is also normal. When the degree of prudentity is high, the passing speed should be low, the avoidance width should be large, and all obstacles should be avoided. If the degree of prudentity is very high, the passing speed will be very slow, the avoidance width will be very large and any obstacles will be avoided.
In the case of a moving object, it is desirable to plan an avoidance route so as not to cross the moving direction, considering the moving direction.
The avoidance route planning unit 7 selects one according to a predetermined selection rule after planning a plurality of avoidance routes. The selected avoidance route is hereinafter referred to as a selection avoidance route. As a selection rule, for example, an evaluation value is determined based on the route to the destination, the time to the destination, and the like, and the route with the maximum evaluation is selected.
The path that can be avoided changes as the position and speed of the obstacle change. At this time, every time the obstacle detection unit 6 performs the obstacle detection process, the avoidance route planning unit 7 may plan the avoidance route. However, when the route changes frequently, the traveling is generally jerky. Therefore, it is better to re-plan in a longer cycle than obstacle detection. For example, in the case of sidewalk running, the walking cycle of a pedestrian is said to be about 500 ms, so the avoidance route planning cycle is such that the running does not get jerky and can respond immediately to changes in the direction of movement of the pedestrian. About 500 ms is appropriate. In order to execute periodically, the value of the
Further, in order to cope with the jumping out of the bicycle and a sudden change in the speed of surrounding objects, an emergency stop process is performed when an object is detected at a close distance apart from the avoidance route plan. This processing is desirably performed every obstacle detection cycle.
The avoidance route planned by the avoidance route planning unit 7 is displayed on the

As described above, the avoidance route planning is performed at a cycle of, for example, 500 ms, but a human needs a longer time until the operation is determined after the avoidance route is displayed. Therefore, the avoidance route display update cycle is set to a longer cycle. For example, about 2 seconds is appropriate. In addition, since the avoidance route display may be updated at the moment when the avoidance
When the avoidance
In the case of the operation timing example 2 in FIG. 6, since a new avoidance route plan is being performed, first, a presentation avoidance route corresponding to the operation timing of the avoidance
If there is no avoidance route closer than a certain distance, the selection avoidance route change operation is invalidated. The same applies when the avoidance
In the above description, the avoidance route in the designated direction is selected from a plurality of predetermined avoidance routes. However, a method of weighting the evaluation value of the selection rule to the designated direction side may be used. Alternatively, a method of applying force may be used. The optimum method is selected according to the avoidance route planning method.
Further, for example, when the avoidance
For example, when the avoidance
Further, for example, when the avoidance
In the above description, the avoidance route is displayed for the boarding user and the avoidance method is operated. However, the avoidance method may be displayed for the remote operator. For example, a communication device including a receiving device 15 and a
The operation content of the avoidance
In addition, operation contents for each user may be collected together with user characteristics such as the user's age and sex, and the operation contents with similar user characteristics may be applied when used by another user. Then, the possibility of traveling according to the intention of the user increases even for a user who uses for the first time or a user who does not perform the avoidance method operation. In this case, the operation content information may be transmitted and collected by the communication device to the management center of the autonomous traveling device 1, and the operation content information may be distributed to other autonomous traveling devices 1. Thereby, even when the user uses different autonomous traveling devices 1, the operation content information can be applied. Moreover, if the operation content information is classified for each place and the most operation content or the operation content at a close time is applied to the autonomous traveling device 1 passing through the same place, it is also possible for a user who travels at the same location for the first time. This increases the possibility of traveling according to the user's intention.
The traveling
Reference numeral 20 denotes an autonomous traveling device control unit that performs integrated control of the above-described units, and the
In the above-described embodiment, the autonomous traveling control unit 20 is configured by the
Next, an example of the flow of the autonomous traveling operation of the autonomous traveling device of FIG. 11 will be described.
First, the user sets a destination using the input device 3 based on the information displayed on the display device 2 (S101). Thereafter, the route planning unit 5 plans a route from the current position to the destination based on the input destination and road information (S102). Then, based on the information displayed on the
The obstacle detection unit 6 detects an object that obstructs the traveling around the autonomous traveling device 1 (S104), and the
The avoidance route planning unit 7 determines whether or not an emergency stop is necessary based on the obstacle detection information of the obstacle detection unit 6 (S106), and if the emergency stop is necessary, the
Thereafter, the traveling
The cautiousness change is reflected to all the presented obstacles corresponding to the operation timing. After that, every time an obstacle is detected, it is determined whether it is the same object from the continuity of the object, and when the same object is no longer detected or when it is determined that the passing of the same object has ended You may return to the obstacle characteristic determination according to the rule. Alternatively, it may be returned after traveling for a certain time, traveling a certain distance, or traveling a certain distance. Alternatively, prudence may be maintained for all obstacles until the next operation.
Next, another example of the flow of the autonomous traveling operation of the autonomous traveling device of FIG. 13 will be described. S121 to S123 are added to the flow of FIG. Hereinafter, the added part different from the flow of FIG. 11 will be described. Before determining the avoidance route display update cycle (S110), it is determined whether or not the conditions for presenting the avoidance route option to the user are met (S121). If the condition is met, the processing from S110 to S114 is performed. If not matched, only the currently selected avoidance route is displayed (S122), and other avoidance routes are not displayed (S123). According to the flow of this operation, the user can arbitrarily set the adaptation condition, and freely change the information presentation amount and the user's degree of intervention. The matching conditions include, for example, a plurality of planned avoidance routes, a difference between avoidance route choices of avoidance route selection evaluation values being a certain value, no display, or constant presentation. With the above operation, it is possible to present information and set the operation intervention level according to the user.
Regarding the above-described embodiment, when the configuration and the effects thereof are arranged, for example, there are the following.
Obstacle detection means 6 for detecting an obstacle that is an obstacle to travel, and one or more avoidance routes that avoid the detected obstacle are planned, and an avoidance route that selects one avoidance route according to a predetermined rule from among them is planned. In the autonomous traveling device 1 having the planning unit 7 and the traveling
The avoidance route presenting means 2 periodically updates the avoidance route to be presented to the latest avoidance route planned by the avoidance route planning means 7. Thereby, the user can select an avoidance route at any time during traveling.
In addition, when the avoidance route presenting means 2 starts presenting the avoidance route and when the avoidance route planning means 7 plans a new avoidance route until the user operates the avoidance method operating means 9 and selects the avoidance route, The avoidance route planning means 7 sets the avoidance route close to the avoidance route selected by the user among the new avoidance routes as the selection avoidance route, and the traveling control means 10 controls the traveling
The avoidance route presenting means 2 presents the avoidance route only when the avoidance route planned by the avoidance route planning means 7 is in a certain condition. Thereby, for example, if the condition is set to be presented only when there are a plurality of avoidance routes planned by the avoidance route planning means 7, if there are no obstacles around, there is only one route that can avoid obstacles. Do not present. Thereby, the information presented to the user is not complicated. Further, if the condition is set not to be presented at all, it is convenient for beginners and users who want to relax by leaving all of them to the autonomous mobile device 1 because the route is set automatically. Conversely, setting the condition to always present is convenient for users who want to move as much as they want. In this way, it is possible to change the riding method according to the user.
The obstacle detection means 6 detects at least the position and shape of the obstacle, and the avoidance path planning means 7 determines obstacle characteristics that affect the avoidance path plan from the detection information of the obstacle detection means 6, and avoids the avoidance path. The presentation means 2 also presents obstacle characteristics. This makes it possible to classify and display characteristics such as things that should be avoided slowly and carefully, such as children, and things that can pass near obstacles such as stationary objects at normal speed. This can be used as a material when making a decision on avoidance route selection.
In addition to route selection, the avoidance
In addition to route selection, the avoidance
Further, the operation content of the avoidance method operation means 9 is stored in association with one or more pieces of operation status information among the type, arrangement, characteristics, avoidance route characteristics, operation location, and operation time of the obstacle to be operated. An operation
