Description
<実施例1>
長さ約1mの抵抗性カーボンファイバートウ(MTLS社またはヘクセル社供給、3Kのトウのロット番号043として識別される)を使用し、トウの長さの約98%が当初の状態で残存された、対象の一体型センサアセンブリの原型を形成した。カーボンファイバートウの当初の形状は、約0.5mm〜0.6mmの直径をもちながら、長さ方向沿いに楕円からほぼ円に近い形の外観である。
<実施例2>
試料長約500フィートの実施例1と同様の抵抗性カーボンファイバートウを、商業用プルトルージョン法(DFI社、ノースカロライナ州ヒッコリー)を用いて、約0.022インチ〜0.023インチ(約0.5mm〜0.6mm)の直径をもつ断面円形の長尺の中実ロッドに形成した。実施例1と同様の熱硬化性エポキシ樹脂(EPON862)をバインダ樹脂として使用し、繊維を断面円形のロッド状に固めたが、その際、トルエンは溶媒として使用しなかった。形成された複合材ロッドの試料は、そのうちの約95重量%〜98重量%を占める炭素繊維と、約2〜5重量%を占めるエポキシ樹脂を含むと推計された。ロッドは、自由ファイバートウほどの可撓性はないが、強度と可撓性のあるものであった。
<実施例3>
本明細書に記載のアセンブリ用の適切な導線コア要素として機能するように十分な強度、化学的不活性、X線透過性、透磁性および導電性を提供する長さ約20mの50μm径カーボンナノチューブ(CNT)連続フィラメントをナノコンプ社(ニューハンプシャー州コンコード)から入手した。浸漬被覆によって、適切な絶縁性高分子被覆層が薄膜に作成され、CNT導線コア要素が被包される。この導線の約2mの長さ部分が使用に備えることができ、従来のレーザ被覆剥ぎ取り法によって約6mm分の絶縁性外被層が一端または両端から除去される。一端側で露出したモノフィラメントCNTコアは、アークアブレーションまたはレーザアブレーションによって加工され、被験体への接点となる針状の尖った先端領域に形成される。導線の他端は、プリント配線板ヘッダによって終端処理され、信号検出装置に接続される。
Claims (1)
- 一体型センサアセンブリを形成する方法であって、
少なくとも1種類の非金属ナノ構造からなるフィラメントを1本以上備えたコア要素の上に高分子被覆層を備えた高分子被包部材を形成し、
前記高分子被包部材の少なくとも一端から前記高分子被覆層の一部を除去することによって、前記コア要素の対応する端部を露出させ、
前記コア要素の前記露出した端部から、接点またはプローブとして使用される尖った先端領域を形成すること、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。
