従来より、船舶の接岸時又は接舷時における船体及び岸壁の損傷防止を目的として、空気式防舷材が岸壁の壁面又は船側に設置されている。この空気式防舷材は、ゴムなどの弾性材料からなる略俵状の中空構造体に圧縮空気を封入し、船舶の接岸又は接舷時の衝撃を空気圧により緩衝させるようにしたものである。従って、空気式防舷材には常に適正な空気圧が維持されていることが必要である。そのため特許文献1は、このような空気圧の検知を外部から簡単に確認できるように、空気式防舷材に内圧検知装置を備えるようにしている。この内圧検知装置における圧力センサーは、検知した内圧を無線信号により外部へ送信するものであるが、近年ではコスト低減を目的として、特許文献2に示すような自動車用のタイヤ空気圧監視装置(Tire Pressure Monitoring System、以下「TPMS」という。)用の送信機付き圧力センサーを転用するようになっている。

このような空気圧監視装置において、各圧力センサー3は、空気圧検知信号を所定の間隔をおいて互いの送信状態が連続するように順にくりかえし送信するようになっている。例えば圧力センサー3を4台設置した場合には、図3に示すように、圧力センサー3a〜3dの空気圧の検知データを、あらかじめ定められた所定の間隔Tをおいて、送信状態が連続するように送信時刻をずらして、圧力センサー3aから圧力センサー3dへの順でくりかえし受信装置5へ向けて送信する。このようにすることで、空気式防舷材2の空気圧を途切れることなく連続して受信装置5へ送信し、空気圧を常時測定することができる。
