上記特許文献において提案されている構造のなかで、従来品の1形態である軸受け穴とフレームが一体成形されている製品(以下旧型と記す)においては、被搬送物の荷重を支えるためフレームが剛性の高い構造になっており、その組み立て時にはフレームのコの字型開口部を大きな力で開いて回転軸を組付ける事が必要で、製造機械が大型・複雑な物になっていた。
また旧型ホィールコンベアの修理・廃棄(分解・分別)時にも大きな力でフレームを開くことが必要で、修理・廃棄にコストがかかりがちであった。
そして軸受け穴をフレームと別に樹脂部品で成形、組み付ける方式(以下新型と記す)が特許文献1及び2において提案されている。特許文献1の内容は樹脂製の軸受け板をフレームと別に製造し軸受け板とホィール及び回転軸をあらかじめ組立てたホィールユニットとして、フレームの断面方向から溝に差し込む構造となっている。
このためホィール1個を故障交換するにも使用状態から取外し、故障ホィールより手前にあるホィールユニット全てを引き出さないと交換できなかった。
またその構造のため組立工程が複雑になり製造機械が旧型より更に大型・複雑な物になってしまっていた。

また軸受け穴の形状を工夫し、個別の軸受け穴だけを選択的に開いて回転軸の着脱が可能となるようにし、かつ使用状態においては被搬送物の荷重が回転軸から外フレームに直接伝わる様にして、剛性の弱い内フレームの変形を防ぐ構造とした。

これに対し従来品新型においてはホィール、軸、軸受けをあらかじめユニット組立してフレーム断面より差し込む構造のため、複雑な生産機械で生産速度も遅くなる。
軸受け部品も100〜150mm程度と長さが限られ、左右別になっているため
部品数が多くなり製造コスト面で不利となっている。
また従来品旧型においては剛性の高いフレームに軸受け穴が設けられているため、フレーム全体を引き広げてホィール軸を組み付けるため、大型の機械になってしまう。
部品数が少なく新型に比べ安価に供給されているが、修理・廃棄を含めたライフサイクルコストでは新型に劣ると判定するユーザーが広がりつつある。
本件発明では個々の軸受け穴は圧入に際し個々の軸受け穴が柔軟に広がる様スリットが設けられており、小さな力で圧入を可能とし、また修理・交換の際にもより小さな力で特定の軸だけを外す事を可能としている。
これらにより従来品新型より更に修理・廃棄を容易にしかつ低価格で供給可能ならしめる。
「他の実施形態」
従来品は3〜4mの完成品で流通・販売されているが、本件発明においては3〜4mの外フレームに1m前後の内フレームを複数組み付ける運用が可能となり、物流・販売面での運用自由度が増す。
また従来品を生産・販売するメーカはいずれもホィール形状の異なる複数の製品を取扱っているが、本件発明ではホィール形状の異なる内フレームを短尺で在庫すれば、
受注に応じて受注長さに応じた長さの外フレームに営業倉庫で完成組立をさせる事が容易になり、在庫圧縮の一助になる。
