Description
本出願は、2004年11月15日出願の米国仮出願整理番号60/628,303号、発明の名称「COMBO EAS/RFID LABEL OR TAG」に関連し、それに対する優先権を主張する、2005年11月15日出願のPCT出願番号第PCT/US2005/041575号、発明の名称「COMBINATION EAS AND RFID LABEL OR TAG WITH CONTROLLABLE READ RANGE」に基づく、2007年5月14日出願の米国国内段階出願整理番号第11/667,742号、発明の名称「COMBINATION EAS AND RFID LABEL OR TAG WITH CONTROLLABLE READ RANGE」の一部継続出願であり、それら全ての全体が、参照することにより本明細書に組み込まれる。
本開示は、管理区域からの物品の不正な持ち出しを防止または阻止するための、電子物品監視(EAS)ラベルまたはタグに関する。より具体的には、本開示は、無線周波数識別(RFID)ラベルまたはタグと組み合わせたEASラベルまたはタグに関し、当該EAS/RFID組み合わせラベルは、ハイブリッドRFIDアンテナインレイを使用した制御可能な読み取り範囲を有する。
P1=EAS構成要素1およびRFID構成要素2が互いに隣接して配置されている。
P2=RFID構成要素2がEAS構成要素1を4分の1横切ってその下に配置されている。
P3=RFID構成要素2がEAS構成要素1を2分の1横切ってその下に配置されている。
P4=RFID構成要素2がEAS構成要素1の真下に配置されている。
のように複素インピーダンスZchipで表され、式中、Z1およびZ2は、チップ208のインピーダンスの実数成分および虚数成分である。RFID装置タグまたはラベルのアンテナ204は、
のように複素インピーダンスZantennaで表すことができ、式中、Z3およびZ4は、アンテナ204のインピーダンスの実成分および虚数成分である。チップ208がアンテナ204に装着されると、チップ208の複素インピーダンスは、EAS構成要素またはラベル1のインピーダンス整合効果または負荷効果を含む、RFIDアンテナ204のカップリングされた共役インピーダンスに整合される。これにより、RFIDチップ208へカップリングする最大電力が可能になり、最大読み取り範囲R1をもたらす。
関係なくEAS機能およびRFID機能を提供することが想定される。
(1)アンテナ204の端部を基板202の周囲の十分に内側に定置することができる。アンテナ204の端部を基板202の周囲内に定置することにより、アンテナ204によって使用される面積の量を変更することなく端部を切り縮めることが可能になり得る。
(2)アンテナ204のQ因子は、スペーサ210およびEASラベル1の効果を含むセキュリティタグ200の応答が、ISM帯域制限で約−3dBのみ変化するように、最適化され得る。Q=1/(ka)3+1/(ka)(式中、k=2π/λであり、「a」はアンテナ204の特性寸法である)のChu−Harrington制限を使用して、半径「a」の球面がちょうどセキュリティタグ200を取り囲むことが理解され得る。高Q因子については、「ka」は<<1であるはずである。したがって、Qを最大化することにより、「a」は動作周波数の帯域制限内に含まれるように最小化される。UHF用途向けのアンテナ204の同調は、2004年8月13日に出願された、R.CopelandおよびG.M.Shaferによる同時継続の共同所有された米国特許出願整理番号第10/917,752号、発明の名称「TUNABLE ANTENNA」に、さらに詳細に開示されている。
Claims (15)
- セキュリティタグであって:
第1の画定された表面積を有する電子物品監視(EAS)構成要素と;
第2の画定された表面積を有する無線周波数(RFID)構成要素であって、
アンテナインレイであって、
内向きの渦巻き状アンテナと、
前記渦巻き状アンテナと電気接触する磁界ループアンテナと、
前記ループアンテナと電気接触する集積回路と、を備える、アンテナインレイを備える、RFID構成要素と;
厚みを有する実質的に平面のスペーサであって、前記スペーサは、前記EAS構成要素の前記第1の画定された表面積と前記RFID構成要素の前記第2の画定された表面積との間に少なくとも部分的に配置され、前記スペーサの前記厚みは、前記RFID構成要素の読み取り範囲を調節するように構成可能である、スペーサとを含み;
前記渦巻き状アンテナは、第1の区分および第2の区分を有し、前記磁界ループアンテナは、前記渦巻き状アンテナの前記第1の区分と前記第2の区分との間に位置付けられ;
前記磁界ループアンテナは長方形であり、該長方形のうちの一つの長辺の両端で前記渦巻き状アンテナの第1の区分および第2の区分と電気接触し、
前記集積回路は、前記長方形の磁界ループアンテナの前記一つの長辺の対辺である長辺に配置される;

前記EAS構成要素と前記RFID構成要素との間にスペーサを配置するステップであって、前記RFID構成要素は、磁界ループアンテナと電気接触する内向きの渦巻き状アンテナと、前記ループアンテナと電気接触する集積回路とを有するアンテナインレイを備える、ステップと;
前記スペーサの前記厚みを変化させて、前記RFID構成要素の読み取り範囲を調節するステップと、を含み;
前記渦巻き状アンテナは、第1の区分および第2の区分を有し、前記磁界ループアンテナは、前記渦巻き状アンテナの前記第1の区分と前記第2の区分との間に位置付けられ;
前記磁界ループアンテナは長方形であり、該長方形のうちの一つの長辺の両端で前記渦巻き状アンテナの第1の区分および第2の区分と電気接触し、
