第2に、宇宙構造物を地上より打ち上げるときには空の層とし、宇宙において液体及び/またはゲル状物質を供給して液体層及び/またはゲル状物質層とする。
第3に、繊維強化プラスチックからなるバンパにより、少なくとも1層の繊維強化プラスチックの層構造を形成してなる。

アルミニウム合金板(A2024−T4) 5mm厚
<バンパ>
アルミニウム合金板(A6061−T6) 1mm厚
<ゲル状物質の組成>
吸水性ポリマーゲル:アクリル酸系(アクリル酸重合体部分ナトリウム塩架橋物)に水を吸収させたもの。
<衝突試験>
上記材料で作製したホイップルシールドにスペースデブリ等を模擬した下記<飛翔体>を<衝突条件>にて衝突させて、与厚壁の損傷状況を評価した。

直径:7mm
長さ:14mm
質量:0.66g
材質:ポリカーボネート樹脂
形状:円柱
<衝突条件>
2段式軽ガスガンで衝突速度約5km/sで実施した。

Claims (3)
- 宇宙構造物表面から外側に間隔をおいて設置したバンパにより層構造を形成してなる宇宙構造物のシールドであって、層構造が少なくとも2層以上形成され、そのうちの少なくとも1層が液体を充填した液体層またはゲル状物質を充填したゲル状物質層であり、
液体層またはゲル状物質層が、宇宙構造物の貯液槽を兼用する層であることを特徴とするスペースデブリ用軽量シールド。 - 宇宙構造物を地上より打ち上げるときには空の層とし、宇宙において液体及び/またはゲル状物質を供給して液体層及び/またはゲル状物質層とすることを特徴とする請求項1記載のスペースデブリ用軽量シールド。
- 繊維強化プラスチックからなるバンパにより、少なくとも1層の繊維強化プラスチックの層構造を形成してなることを特徴とする請求項1または2記載のスペースデブリ用軽量シールド。
