Description
The present invention relates to a fuel cell structure.
Conventionally, “a porous support substrate having no electron conductivity in which a gas flow path is formed” and “a plurality of locations separated from each other on the surface of the support substrate, a fuel electrode, a solid A plurality of power generation element portions in which an electrolyte and an air electrode are stacked, and one fuel electrode of each of the adjacent power generation element portions provided between one or a plurality of adjacent power generation element portions, There is known a structure of a solid oxide fuel cell provided with “one or more electrical connection parts having electronic conductivity for electrically connecting the other air electrode” (for example, Patent Document 1). 2). Such a configuration is also called a “horizontal stripe type”.
Hereinafter, attention is focused on the shape of the support substrate. In the “horizontal stripe type” solid oxide fuel cell structure described in Patent Document 1, the support substrate has a cylindrical shape. On the surface (cylindrical surface) of the cylindrical support substrate, a plurality of “annular grooves” for embedding the fuel electrode are respectively formed at a plurality of axial positions (see FIG. 3). Therefore, the outer diameter of the portion where the “annular groove” is formed in the support substrate is small. For this reason, it can be said that this structure is a structure that is easily deformed when an external force in the bending direction or the twisting direction is applied to the support substrate.
In the structure of the “horizontal stripe type” solid oxide fuel cell described in
In addition, the “long groove” has side walls extending in the longitudinal direction at both ends in the width direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction, and does not have side walls extending in the width direction at both ends in the longitudinal direction. That is, the “long groove” does not have a side wall closed in the circumferential direction. Therefore, the frame surrounding the “long groove” is not formed on the support substrate. Due to these reasons, this structure can be said to be a structure that is easily deformed particularly when an external force in the twisting direction is applied to the support substrate. From the above, in the structure of the “horizontal stripe” fuel cell, it is desired to suppress the deformation of the support substrate when the support substrate receives an external force.
Furthermore, the fuel cell structure described above requires a gas seal function that prevents mixing of two types of gases (typically, fuel gas and air) used during operation of the fuel cell. There is a demand for reliably suppressing such deterioration of the gas seal function.
The present invention provides a structure of a “horizontal stripe type” fuel cell, in which the support substrate is not easily deformed when the support substrate receives an external force, and the deterioration of the gas seal function can be reliably suppressed. With the goal.
A structure of a fuel cell according to the present invention includes a flat porous support substrate having an electrical insulating property in which a gas flow path is formed, and a plurality of spaced apart from each other on a main surface of the flat support substrate. Provided in each of the locations, “a plurality of power generation element portions in which at least an inner electrode, a solid electrolyte, and an outer electrode are stacked” and one set or a plurality of sets of adjacent power generation element portions are provided and adjacent to each other. One or a plurality of electrical connection portions having electronic conductivity for electrically connecting one inner electrode and the other outer electrode of the power generation element portion, and one set or a plurality of sets of the adjacent power generation element portions And a gas seal portion made of a dense material that prevents the mixing of the first gas supplied to the inner electrode and the second gas supplied to the outer electrode. That is, this structure is a “horizontal stripe type” fuel cell structure.
The structure of the fuel cell structure according to the present invention is characterized in that the plurality of locations on the main surface of the flat support substrate are formed from the material of the support substrate over the entire circumference and the bottom wall made of the material of the support substrate. First recesses having side walls closed in the circumferential direction are formed, and the inner electrodes of the corresponding power generation element portions are embedded in the first recesses, respectively, and the electrical connection portions are dense. A first portion made of a material, and a second portion connected to the first portion and made of a porous material, the outer surface of each embedded inner electrode in the gas seal portion In the covering portion, the gas seal portion is a dense solid electrolyte as a part of the power generation element portion, and a first seal made of a dense constituent material that is connected to the solid electrolyte and is the same as or different from the solid electrolyte. Department and front A second seal portion connected to the first seal portion and made of a dense constituent material different from the first seal portion; and a first portion of the electrical connection portion connected to the second seal portion. The first seal portion and the first portion of the electrical connection portion are not in contact with each other. The gas seal portion extends from the solid electrolyte as a part of the power generation element portion in a portion excluding a portion covering the outer surface of each embedded inner electrode in the gas seal portion. Can be configured.
Here, the planar shape of the first recess (the shape when viewed from the direction perpendicular to the main surface of the support substrate) is, for example, a rectangle, a square, a circle, an ellipse, or an oval. Further, it is preferable that the support substrate has a longitudinal direction, and the plurality of first recesses are arranged at predetermined intervals along the longitudinal direction. The inner electrode and the outer electrode may be an air electrode and a fuel electrode, respectively, or may be a fuel electrode and an air electrode.
Thus, in the “horizontal stripe type” fuel cell structure according to the present invention, each first recess for embedding the inner electrode has a side wall closed in the circumferential direction. In other words, a frame surrounding each first recess is formed on the support substrate. Therefore, it can be said that this structure is a structure that is not easily deformed when the support substrate receives an external force.
Further, in the fuel cell structure according to the present invention, the solid electrolyte of the power generation element portion, the first seal portion, the second seal portion, and the first portion (interconnector) of the electrical connection portion, Can be used to achieve a “gas seal function”. The first seal portion and the first portion of the electrical connection portion are not in contact with each other. Further, when the first seal portion is made of a material different from that of the solid electrolyte of the power generation element portion, the solid electrolyte of the power generation element portion and the second seal portion are not in contact with each other.
In the “embodiment in which the interconnector is embedded in the second recess formed in the outer surface of the inner electrode embedded in the first recess formed in the main surface of the support substrate” (as shown in FIG. 18 described later). If a configuration is adopted in which the interconnector is embedded (filled) in the entire second recess and the outer peripheral surface of the interconnector is covered with a solid electrolyte membrane, the “gas seal function” is likely to deteriorate. (Details will be described later). In contrast, in the fuel cell structure according to the present invention, regardless of the presence or absence of the second recess, the gas seal portion includes the solid electrolyte of the power generation element portion, the first seal portion, and the second seal portion, By being configured with the interconnector, it is possible to reliably suppress the deterioration of the gas seal function (details will be described later).
(Constitution)
FIG. 1 shows a structure of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) according to an embodiment of the present invention. This SOFC structure is electrically connected in series to the upper and lower surfaces (main surfaces (planes) on both sides parallel to each other) of the
The shape of the entire SOFC structure as viewed from above is, for example, a rectangle having a length of 50 to 500 mm in the longitudinal direction and a length in the width direction (y-axis direction) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of 10 to 100 mm. is there. The total thickness of the SOFC structure is 1 to 5 mm. The entire SOFC structure has a vertically symmetrical shape with respect to a plane passing through the center in the thickness direction and parallel to the main surface of the

支持基板10は、例えば、CSZ(カルシア安定化ジルコニア)から構成され得る。或いは、NiO(酸化ニッケル)とYSZ(8YSZ)(イットリア安定化ジルコニア)とから構成されてもよいし、NiO(酸化ニッケル)とY2O3(イットリア)とから構成されてもよいし、MgO(酸化マグネシウム)とMgAl2O4(マグネシアアルミナスピネル)とから構成されてもよい。
The
The
また、絶縁性セラミックスとしては、MgO(酸化マグネシウム)、又は、「MgAl2O4(マグネシアアルミナスピネル)とMgO(酸化マグネシウム)の混合物」が好適である。また、絶縁性セラミックスとして、CSZ(カルシア安定化ジルコニア)、YSZ(8YSZ)(イットリア安定化ジルコニア)、Y2O3(イットリア)が使用されてもよい。 Further, as the insulating ceramic, MgO (magnesium oxide) or “mixture of MgAl 2 O 4 (magnesia alumina spinel) and MgO (magnesium oxide)” is preferable. Further, CSZ (calcia stabilized zirconia), YSZ (8YSZ) (yttria stabilized zirconia), Y 2 O 3 (yttria) may be used as the insulating ceramic.
As described above, since the

The entire anode
或いは、NiO(酸化ニッケル)とGDC(ガドリニウムドープセリア)とから構成されてもよい。 或いは、NiO(酸化ニッケル)とY2O3(イットリア)とから構成されてもよいし、NiO(酸化ニッケル)とCSZ(カルシア安定化ジルコニア)とから構成されてもよい。

As described above, the fuel electrode

或いは、LSF=(La,Sr)FeO3(ランタンストロンチウムフェライト)、LNF=La(Ni,Fe)O3(ランタンニッケルフェライト)、LSC=(La,Sr)CoO3(ランタンストロンチウムコバルタイト)等から構成されてもよい。

In the power generation state, as shown in FIG. 6, current flows as indicated by an arrow in each pair of adjacent power generation element portions A and A. As a result, as shown in FIG. 5, from the entire SOFC structure (specifically, in FIG. 5, the
(Production method)
Next, an example of a manufacturing method of the “horizontal stripe type” SOFC structure shown in FIG. 1 will be briefly described with reference to FIGS. 7 to 16, “g” at the end of the symbol of each member indicates that the member is “before firing”.
First, a support substrate molded
As shown in FIG. 8, when the support substrate molded
Subsequently, as shown in FIG. 11, each concave portion formed in “the portion excluding the portion where the molded
Next, as shown in FIG. 12, a molded
Next, as shown in FIG. 13, the outer peripheral surface extending in the longitudinal direction in the molded
Next, as shown in FIG. 14, a molded
Then, 10 g of the support substrate molded body in which various molded films are thus formed is fired in air at 1500 ° C. for 3 hours. As a result, a structure in which the
Next, as shown in FIG. 15, an air
Next, as shown in FIG. 16, for each pair of adjacent power generation element portions, air is formed so as to straddle the air
Then, the
(Action / Effect)
As described above, in the above embodiment, each of the plurality of
In the above embodiment, the
As schematically shown in FIG. 17, in the above embodiment, “a dense layer in which the
Here, as a conventional example for comparison with the above embodiment, as shown in FIG. 18, a mode in which the interconnector is embedded (filled) in the entire recess formed on the outer surface of the fuel electrode is considered. In this case, in order to suppress a decrease in gas sealing performance, as shown in FIG. 18, the peripheral portion of the outer surface of the interconnector is often covered with an electrolyte membrane. In general, an interconnector (particularly, an interconnector composed of lanthanum chromite) has a property of expanding during the reduction treatment described above (reduction expansion). Due to this reductive expansion, there is a problem that peeling occurs at the interface between the peripheral edge of the outer side surface of the interconnector and the inner side surface of the electrolyte membrane, and the “gas seal function” is likely to deteriorate. On the other hand, in the above embodiment, as described above, the dense membrane (solid electrolyte membrane 40) is not provided on the outer surface of the
Further, in the above-described embodiment, a plurality of power generation element portions A are provided on each of the upper and lower surfaces of the
Moreover, in the said embodiment, the
In addition, this invention is not limited to the said embodiment, A various modified example is employable within the scope of the present invention. For example, in the above embodiment, as shown in FIG. 7 and the like, the planar shape of the
In the above embodiment, the
Moreover, in the said embodiment, as shown in FIG. 17, although the whole area of the bottom face of the
Further, as shown in FIG. 21, an
