Description
The present invention relates to an optical fiber connector and an optical fiber connection method using the same.
However, although the optical fiber connector described in
Further, the conventional optical fiber connector is designed to hold the coating of the optical fiber core wire (0.25 mm, 0.9 mm), and if it is an optical fiber core wire having such a coating diameter, It is designed to withstand the pulling force under the use conditions. However, it is not designed to hold an optical fiber cord or various cables having a larger coating diameter. That is, when an optical fiber cord or various cables having a larger coating diameter is directly inserted into the mechanical splice, the mechanical splice simply holds the cable between a pair of holding members and presses them with a C spring. Will be easily removed. Therefore, it is necessary to be able to grip such a cable. Here, it is conceivable to change the design of the mechanical splice. However, it is not economical to redesign mechanical splices that are already on the market. Even if the design change is made for the mechanical splice, the cable may be pulled out due to a large tension in the use environment.

First, with reference to FIG. 1, the structure of the 1st optical fiber cable used as the connection object by the
As shown in FIG. 1, the first optical fiber cable F1 has a first optical fiber 1A and a first outer cover 2A covering the first optical fiber 1A, and the first outer fiber 2A is removed from the end of the first optical fiber cable 1A. 1A is being put out. Similarly, the second optical fiber cable F2 has a second optical fiber 1B and a second jacket 2B covering the second optical fiber 1B, and the second jacket 2B is removed at the end, and the second optical fiber 1B is led out. ing. For example, an optical indoor cable or an optical drop cable can be used as the first optical fiber cable F1 and the second optical fiber cable F2.

A

The
The
Here, the
Note that when the connecting

(First optical fiber connection method)
Next, a first optical fiber connection method using the above-described
First, as shown in FIG. 6, in the
Next, as shown in FIG. 7, the second
Next, the
Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 8, when the
Next, as shown in FIG. 8, one of the two
Next, as shown in FIG. 9, the first
Next, the
The occurrence of bending 80 in the first optical fiber 1A means that the end of the first optical fiber 1A and the end of the second optical fiber 1B are abutted. For this reason, it can be confirmed that the end portion of the first optical fiber 1A and the end portion of the second optical fiber 1B are abutted by the occurrence of the bending 80.
And as shown in FIG. 11, when the
Subsequently, the remaining
According to the optical fiber connection method described above, the
Further, in the
Further, when the end of the first optical fiber 1A of the first optical fiber cable F1 is inserted between the sandwiching
Therefore, it is possible to easily connect the first optical fiber 1A and the second optical fiber 1B.
Further, the first outer
(Second optical fiber connection method)
Next, a second optical fiber connection method using the above-described
First, the
Next, as shown in FIG. 12, the second
Next, the first
Then, the
Next, the
If the movement of the
Moreover, the two
Thus, the connection between the first optical fiber 1A and the second optical fiber 1B is completed.
The second optical fiber connection method described above has the following advantages over the first optical fiber connection method. That is, when the end portion of the first optical fiber 1A of the first optical fiber cable F1 is inserted between the holding
(Second embodiment of optical fiber connector)
Next, a second embodiment of the optical fiber connector according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. In FIG. 15, the same or equivalent components as those in the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and redundant description is omitted.
As shown in FIG. 15, the
Here, an optical fiber connection method using the
First, the
Next, the second
Next, as shown in FIG. 16, the first
Then, the
Subsequently, the
Thus, if it is confirmed that the second optical fiber 1B is bent 80, the
Subsequently, the two
