Description
The present invention relates to a program activation control technique when a device is connected.
Some conventional device control apparatuses control activation of software that is activated when a device device is connected (see, for example, Patent Document 1). This is to set the number of software that can be activated according to the device device, and when the device device exceeding the set number is connected, the activation of the software corresponding to the device device is set to the standby state. there were.
Further, in the conventional task activation method, there is a task activation method performed by communicating with a server device that manages a task flow for executing a plurality of function processes in cooperation (for example, see Patent Document 2). In this method, it is determined whether or not a task flow based on a requested function is registered in the server device, and a plurality of function processes corresponding to the requested function are executed with reference to the registered task flow. .
Some conventional printing systems determine the type of paper cassette loaded in the printing apparatus and automatically activate different software depending on the paper cassette of the printing apparatus (for example, Patent Documents). 3). In this method, a combination of a paper cassette type (such as a business card size) and printing software (such as business card printing software) is registered in advance, and the software to be activated is changed based on the information.
In the conventional device control apparatus, the corresponding software is always activated when the device is connected. At this time, for example, the user may connect a device during driver installation, and even in that case, the software corresponding to the device is activated. For this reason, driver installation may be hidden by software to be activated, or may compete for resources, and the driver installation operation may be hindered or delayed. For this reason, the user's operation is hindered while the software is running, and further, it is necessary to finish the software. In addition, since the driver installation has not been completed, there is a problem that the activated software is activated in a state where the driver cannot be used.
Further, in the conventional task activation method, a required task flow is always executed according to input data. Therefore, if the task is executed in the program that is running, the task will be executed even if the software is running, so that the user's operation is hindered, and the software has to be closed. Was necessary.
In the conventional printing system, when a printing apparatus is connected, the corresponding software is always activated based on the combination information of the cassette and the printing software. However, the user may want to print using different software instead of the software. In that case, the user operates the software that he / she wants to use in advance, but even in that case, when the printing apparatus is connected, the pre-registered software is automatically activated. Therefore, the user's operation is hindered while the software is running, and further, it is necessary to complete the software.
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and a first object thereof is to prevent activation of troublesome software when a user connects a device.
A second object is to start software desired by the user when the user connects the device.
In order to achieve the above object, the activation control method of the present invention for a program in an information processing apparatus connectable to a printing apparatus includes a search step in which a search means searches for an operation program operating in the information processing apparatus. , the acquisition means, when the printing device is connected, an acquisition step of acquiring the status of the printing apparatus, a determination unit, before Ki稼 dynamic program, the state corresponding software corresponding to the state of the acquired printing device start a judgment step of judging whether it contains a web a, activation means, when the operating program does not include the state corresponding software, a preset device corresponding software in accordance with the connection of the printing device or it is, when the operation program contains the state corresponding software, which may used in printing the state corresponding software Determining out if, if the case is never used the controlled not to start the device-software, sometimes used, depending on the device-software execution instruction from the user, the said device corresponding software and a start-up step of starting to.
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, when a user connects an apparatus apparatus, it can prevent starting the software which becomes trouble. In addition, when the user connects the device, software desired by the user can be activated.
The best mode for carrying out the present invention will be described below in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

As described above, according to the first embodiment, it is possible to prevent activation of troublesome software when a device is connected.
<変形例1>
<Modification 1>
In the processing shown in the flowchart of FIG. 3 described above in the first embodiment, control is performed so that the device-compatible software is not started when the simultaneous operation ineligibility program is in operation. On the other hand, it is also possible to control as follows by checking the activation wait

<Second Embodiment>
In the processing shown in the flowchart of FIG. 3 described above in the first embodiment, control is performed so that the device-compatible software is not started when the simultaneous operation ineligibility program is in operation. On the other hand, in the second embodiment, a case in which the
First, the activated software is searched (S501), and it is checked whether the device-compatible software is activated (S502). If not activated, the process is terminated. If the device-compatible software is being activated (YES in S502), the
As described above, according to the second embodiment, when a device is connected, it is possible to terminate activation of software that becomes a problem.
<変形例2>
<Modification 2>
When the
In the processing described above with reference to FIG. 5, when the
FIG. 6 is a flowchart for explaining an activation control process for explaining the operation of the activation control program when an end notification is issued during activation of the device-compatible software. In the second modification, the activation control program is a program that is always operating (resident program), and the operation program and the activated software are always monitored to execute processing.
(S603)。 First, in S601, the process described with reference to FIG. 5 is executed. Next, it is checked whether an end notification of the device-compatible software has been issued (S602), and if it has not been issued, the process ends. On the other hand, if an end notification has been issued (YES in S602), the operating simultaneous ineligibility program detected in S505 of FIG. 5 is held (S603).
(S606)。 Next, the process waits until the device-compatible software ends (S604). When the device-compatible software ends, it is determined whether the simultaneous operation ineligibility program held in S603 is in operation (S605). If the retained simultaneous operation ineligibility program is not in operation (NO in S605), the process ends. On the other hand, when the held simultaneous operation ineligibility program is in operation (YES in S605), the process waits until the held simultaneous operation ineligibility program ends (S606).
When the simultaneous operation ineligibility program is terminated, the device-compatible software terminated by the termination notification in S604 is activated (S607). By controlling in this manner, the user can automatically restart the terminated device-compatible software without executing the device-compatible software activation process again.
In the above example, the case where the device-compatible software is restarted after the simultaneous operation ineligibility program ends is described. However, the device-compatible software is installed only when waiting for activation using the activation wait
In the above example, an example is described of the activation control program resident in order to start the software corresponding to the equipment devices when connecting the equipment device to the computer, and this equipment device, the printing device Ya Invite example Example You may apply to a camera. In other words, when the printing apparatus is connected to a computer and printing software is started, the installation program for installing the printer driver is a program that is ineligible for simultaneous operation. When the printer driver installation program is in operation, the printing software does not start even when the printing apparatus is connected to the computer.
In addition, when the camera is connected to a computer and the software is started to capture an image from the camera, for example, the program for updating the image transfer program is set as an unqualified program for simultaneous operation. In this case, when a program for updating an image transfer program is in operation, the software for capturing an image from the camera does not start even when the camera is connected to the computer.
<Third Embodiment>
Next, a third embodiment of the present invention will be described. In the third embodiment of the present invention, a case where different software is automatically activated according to the type of ink mounted on the printing apparatus will be described.
FIG. 7 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the print software
FIG. 8 is an example of software information recorded in the software
As indicated by
Since digital photo data is usually represented by RGB or the like, it does not have information on gold. Therefore, CMYKG ink is not necessary when only photographs are printed. In particular, in the case of a so-called integrated ink tank in which CMYKG ink is contained in one tank, if only CMYK printing is performed using CMYKG ink, the ink tank is disposed with G ink remaining when CMYK runs out. This is uneconomical. Normally, CMYKG ink is used when printing with a golden decoration on a photograph. In other words, when CMYKG ink is installed in the printing apparatus, the user may want to perform a golden decoration on the photograph. For this reason, both the CMYKG ink status correspondence software and device correspondence software are used as decoration software.
Further, as indicated by 802, the CMYK ink state correspondence software is decoration software and borderless printing software, and the device correspondence software is borderless printing software. Here, the CMYK ink is an ink that can print normal CMYK. Borderless printing software is software that prints, for example, A4 paper without borders without decorating the photo data. CMYK ink is used for both printing with decoration and printing without decoration. Therefore, the CMYK ink is associated with the decoration software and the borderless printing software as the state correspondence software. However, in general, printing without borders is often performed without borders, and therefore borderless printing software is associated with the device-compatible software.
Next, the operation of the print software
When the
If not, the status corresponding software for the current ink is not activated. In that case, the
For example, it is assumed that CMYK ink is attached to the
Here, some specific examples of the above-described control will be described.
For example, it is assumed that after printing with CMYK ink using a borderless printing software, the user changes the ink to CMYKG and reconnects the
On the other hand, if software corresponding to the current ink type is operating (YES in S903), printing can be performed using the current ink using the operating software, and software is recorded in the software
For example, it is assumed that CMYK ink is attached to the
In this way, by operating the software that the user wants to use in advance, the device-compatible software can be prevented from being automatically activated, and the desired software can be used immediately without hindering operation. You can start printing.
<変形例3>
<Modification 3>
In the third modification, a method for more reliably preventing software that is not intended by the user from starting automatically will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG.
FIG. 10 is a flowchart for explaining the operation of the print software
The third modification is characterized in the processing when it is determined in S903 that the software corresponding to the current ink type is running. When it is determined that there is operating software corresponding to the current ink type, the
For example, it is assumed that CMYK ink is attached to the
On the other hand, if there is no software that has not been printed in S1005, that is, if any of the operating software has been printed, the process proceeds to S1006. Then, the
In the example described in the third embodiment and the third modification described above, the case where the process is performed when the
In the example described in the third embodiment and the third modification described above, the type of ink color has been described as an example of the state of the
