奥行き幅が異なる少なくとも2種類の棚板部材A,B又はA,C若しくはB,Cであって、各棚板部材A,B,Cは、それらの奥行き方向端面に凹状部と凸状部の嵌合関係で分離可能に結合できる結合部が形成されており、これらの棚板部材A又は結合した棚板部材A,B、A,C、B,Cのいずれか、あるいは結合した棚板部材A,B,Cにより、書籍サイズのA6版又はB5版若しくはA4版あるいはB4版以上の版に見合う奥行き幅を有する棚板を形成し、
前記各棚板部材A〜Cの後端部近くの上面には、立てて載置される書籍の背に当接し当該書籍が棚板の背面側から脱落するのを防止するための背当て部材D又はEを着脱自在に装着できる凹状の背当て溝を形成し、
前記背当て溝は、入口の幅より内部の幅が大きく、かつ、各棚板部材A〜Cの全長に亘り形成され、
