Claims (7)
- ターボチャージャ(10)であって、
軸方向に対向する側を有する中央ハウジング(28)であって、貫通する孔(18)を画定し、該孔(18)に軸受け(30)が取り付けられ、回転可能なシャフト(26)が前記軸受け(30)に支持されており、前記シャフト(26)は、対向する端部を有する、前記中央ハウジング(28)と、
前記シャフト(26)の一端に取り付けられたコンプレッサホイール(16)と、
前記シャフト(26)の他端に取り付けられたタービンホイール(22)と、
前記コンプレッサホイール(16)を取り囲むコンプレッサハウジング(20)であって、対向する第1端及び第2端を有し、前記第2端が前記中央ハウジング(28)の一側に取り付けられている前記コンプレッサハウジング(20)と、
前記タービンホイール(22)を取り囲み、前記中央ハウジング(28)の他側に取り付けられたタービンハウジング(24)であって、排気ガスを受け入れ及び径方向内方に前記タービンホイール(22)へ方向付けるために前記タービンホイール(22)を囲む環状チャンバを画定し、前記中央ハウジング(28)から軸方向に離れた排気ガス用の出口を画定する、前記タービンハウジング(24)と、
前記コンプレッサホイール(16)は、背中合わせに配置された第1段の羽根車(34a)及び第2段の羽根車(34b)を有し、
前記コンプレッサハウジング(20)は、前記第1段の羽根車(34a)にエアを供給するために前記コンプレッサハウジング(20)の第1側内に軸方向に延びる第1段の入口(40)を画定し、前記第2段の羽根車(34b)にエアを供給するために前記コンプレッサハウジング(20)の第2側内に前記軸方向の反対側に延びる第2段の入口(42)を画定し、
前記コンプレッサハウジング(20)は、前記第1段の羽根車(34a)を囲み、前記第1段の羽根車(34a)から排出されるエアを受け取る概ね環状の第1段のボリュート(46)と、前記第2段の羽根車(34b)を囲み、前記第2段の羽根車(34b)から排出されるエアを受け取る概ね環状の第2段のボリュート(48)と、前記第2段のボリュート(48)に連結され、前記第2段のボリュート(48)から概ね接線方向で外方へ延びる出口通路(44)とを画定し、
前記コンプレッサハウジング(20)は、前記第1段のボリュート(46)を前記第2段の入口(42)に連結する2つの別々の通路(58a、58b)を有し、前記通路(58a、58b)の各々は前記第2段のボリュート(48)の径方向外方で延びている、ターボチャージャ。 - 請求項1に記載のターボチャージャにおいて、前記第2段の入口(42)へ径方向内方に延びる各通路(58a、58b)の一部は、前記コンプレッサハウジング(20)の壁と前記中央ハウジング(28)の壁との間に画定されている、ターボチャージャ。
- 請求項1に記載のターボチャージャにおいて、前記第1段のボリュート(46)が少なくとも2つの部分(46a、46b)を画定し、これらの各部分(46a、46b)が前記2つの通路(58a、58b)の間を延び、前記第1段のボリュート(46)から概ね接線方向に延びる前記通路(58a、58b)の対応する1つに向かう方向において増大する横断面寸法を有する、ターボチャージャ。
- 請求項1に記載のターボチャージャにおいて、前記第2段のボリュート(48)の横断面寸法が、前記出口通路(44)に向かう方向において増大する、ターボチャージャ。
- 請求項1に記載のターボチャージャにおいて、前記第1段のボリュート(46)が、2つの概ね半環状の区画(46a、46b)を有し、これらの区画(46a、46b)が合わさって実質的に第1段の羽根車(34a)を取り囲み、前記通路の一方(58a)が前記区画の一方(46a)に接続され、前記通路の他方(58b)が前記区画(46b)の他方に連結されている、ターボチャージャ。
- 請求項1に記載のターボチャージャにおいて、前記コンプレッサハウジング(20)は、2つの別々の第1及び第2の区画で形成され、前記第1の区画が、前記第1のボリュート(46)と各通路(58a、58b)の第1の部分とを画定し、前記第2の区画が、前記第2のボリュート(48)と前記各通路(58a、58b)の第2の部分とを画定し、前記第1及び第2の区画は結合部にて互いに連結されている、ターボチャージャ。
- 請求項6に記載のターボチャージャにおいて、前記コンプレッサハウジング(20)の前記第1及び第2の区画とは別体に形成され且つ前記第1及び第2の区画の間に配置されたバッフル(54)を有し、該バッフル(54)は、前記第1段のボリュート(46)を前記第2段のボリュート(48)から離間させている、ターボチャージャ。
