Description

The present invention relates to a vehicle occupant protection device, and more particularly to a structure of a roll bar device that operates when a vehicle predicts or detects rollover.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, when a vehicle predicts or detects rollover, a movable roll bar device that protects an occupant has been developed by projecting a roll bar (protruding member) from the back side of the occupant toward the top of the vehicle body ( For example, see Patent Document 1).

Some of these movable roll bar devices have an upper surface covered with a cover member in order to improve appearance and prevent intrusion of rainwater or the like.

However, in the movable roll bar device shown in the background art, when the upper surface side is covered with a cover member, when the roll bar disposed inside the roll bar device protrudes above the vehicle body and hits the cover member, The detached cover member may move toward the occupant side.

Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and provides an occupant protection device for a vehicle that controls the behavior of a cover member that moves by coming into contact with a roll bar to more reliably protect the occupant. The purpose is that.

In order to achieve the above object, a vehicle occupant protection device according to the present invention predicts or detects vehicle rollover, and in a so-called emergency, a projecting member that projects from the retracted state of the vehicle body member toward the vehicle body upper side. A cover member disposed on the rear side of the headrest portion of the seat and disposed above the protruding member in the retracted state, and a front member and a rear member engaged with the vehicle body member, and extending along the vehicle longitudinal direction. It is a non-stretchable long member having flexibility, and one end that is a front end is fixed to the front part of the cover member, and the other end that is a rear end is on the rear side of the protruding member. And a connecting member fixed to the vehicle body member. When the vehicle predicts or detects a rollover, the protruding member protrudes toward the upper side of the vehicle body and comes into contact with the cover member. After the cover member is detached from the vehicle body member, the protruding member hits the connecting member and connects. The main feature is that the cover member moves to the vehicle rear side opposite to the occupant seated on the seat by applying tension to the member.

According to the vehicle occupant protection device of the present invention, when the vehicle predicts or detects a rollover, in a so-called emergency, when the protruding member rises above the vehicle body and the cover member comes off the headrest portion, the cover member is Move backwards. Therefore, it is possible to reliably prevent the cover member from moving toward the occupant seated on the seat.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 1 is a side view schematically showing the entire vehicle body equipped with an occupant protection device according to an embodiment of the present invention from the side, and FIG. 2 is an exploded front view of the left seat in FIG. FIG. In this specification, the term “above the vehicle body” refers to the upper side based on the vehicle body position during normal travel.

As shown in FIG. 1, the vehicle 1 is a convertible type that can open and close a roof. The seat 3 disposed in the vehicle 1 includes a seat cushion 5 serving as a seat portion of the occupant P and a seat back 7 serving as a backrest. Further, a headrest portion 9 is integrally provided at the upper end portion of the seat back 7, and an occupant protection device 11 according to the embodiment of the present invention as shown in FIG. ing.

3 is a perspective view showing a section taken along line AA in FIG. 2, FIG. 4 is a sectional view taken along line AA in FIG. 2, FIG. 5 is a front view of FIG. 2 as viewed from the front of the vehicle, and FIG. The perspective view which shows the cross section by -B, and FIG. 7 are sectional drawings by BB of FIG.

As shown in FIGS. 4, 6, and 7, the headrest portion 9 includes a front surface portion 15 disposed on the front side of the vehicle, a cover member 17 disposed on the rear side facing the front surface portion 15, and these A roll bar 19 (projecting member) housed and disposed inside the front surface portion 15 and the cover member 17, a plate body 21 which is a vehicle body member extending along the vertical direction, and a rod member 23 extending along the vehicle width direction. It is equipped with. The occupant protection device 11 according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a roll bar 19, a cover member 17, and a connecting member 25.

As shown in FIG. 4, the roll bar 19 that is a projecting member includes a hollow roll bar main body 27 and a protective portion 29 that covers the front surface and the upper surface of the roll bar main body 27. The roll bar body 27 is a cylindrical member having a substantially rectangular cross section, and the upper surface is formed to be curved in a substantially arc shape. Further, as shown in FIG. 5, the roll bar main body 27 extends along the vehicle width direction, the vehicle width direction central portion C is disposed on the uppermost side, and gradually lowers toward the left and right sides E, E. It is formed in a substantially arc shape when viewed from the front. Normally, the roll bar 19 is housed inside the plate member 21 and the cover member 17 which are vehicle body members, and protrudes toward the upper side of the vehicle body when the rollover of the vehicle is predicted or detected. It is configured.

As shown in FIGS. 3, 4, 6 and 7, the cover member 17 has a substantially arc-shaped cross section, and a tongue piece 31 extending downward is formed at the front portion. The piece 31 is held by a projecting piece 33 provided at the upper end of the plate body 21 via an S-shaped clip 35. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 4, a plate body 21 that is a vehicle body member extends in the vertical direction at a position on the vehicle front side of the roll bar 19 and the tongue piece 31 of the cover member 17. A protruding piece 33 is formed on the upper end of the plate body 21. On the other hand, the tongue piece 31 of the cover member 17 is disposed so as to face the protruding piece 33 of the plate body 21. As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, a locking hole 37 is formed in the tongue piece 31 of the cover member 17. On the other hand, the S-shaped clip 35 includes a main body portion 39 elastically engaged with the projecting piece 33 of the plate body 21, and an engaging portion 41 integrally formed with the main body portion 39. The convex part 43 is formed. Therefore, after engaging the main body 39 of the S-shaped clip 35 with the projecting piece 33, the convex portion 43 of the engaging portion 41 is fitted into the locking hole 37 of the tongue piece 31 of the cover member 17, thereby The front part of the member 17 is elastically attached to the plate body 21 which is a vehicle body member.

On the other hand, the rear portion of the cover member 17 is locked to a rod member 23 that is a vehicle body member extending in the vehicle width direction. Specifically, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, a long rod member 23 having a circular cross section is extended along the vehicle width direction. A locking claw 45 having elasticity is integrally formed, and the locking claw 45 is locked to the rod member 23. When a load toward the upper side of the vehicle body of a predetermined value or more is input to the cover member 17, the engagement between the rod member 23 and the locking claw 45 in the cover member 17 and the S-shape of the upper end portion of the plate body 21 The engagement between the clip 35 and the tongue piece 31 is released, and the cover member 17 is configured to move upward in the vehicle body.

As shown in FIG. 6, the connecting member 25 is a non-stretchable long member that extends along the vehicle front-rear direction and has flexibility, and one end 25a of the connecting member 25 is a cover member. 17 is fixed to a tongue piece 31 formed on the lower surface of the front portion via a clip 47, and the other end 25 b is locked to the rod member 23 while being formed in an annular shape by a clip 49. The rod member 23 is disposed on the rear side of the roll bar 19.

As shown in FIGS. 5 and 7, two reinforcing ribs 51, 51 are formed on the lower surface of the cover member 17 so as to protrude downward at the center in the vehicle width direction. These reinforcing ribs 51, 51 are disposed in a pair spaced apart from each other in the vehicle width direction, and are formed in a substantially triangular shape extending in the vehicle front-rear direction as shown in FIG. 7. 5 and 7, when the roll bar 19 is stored, the connecting member 25 is accommodated between the pair of reinforcing ribs 51 and 51.

As shown in FIG. 7, when the roll bar 19 is retracted, there is a predetermined gap between the upper end 29 a of the protection portion 29 (that is, the end of the roll bar 19 on the protruding direction side) and the reinforcing rib 51. A gap S having a length of 1 mm is provided.

Next, an operation procedure of the occupant protection device according to the embodiment of the present invention will be described.

FIG. 8 is a cross-sectional view showing a state when the roll bar moves upward and hits the cover member, and FIG. 9 shows a state where the roll bar moves upward and hits the cover member, and the cover member is detached from the roll bar device. FIG. 10 is a cross-sectional view showing a state where the roll bar has been raised to the uppermost position and the cover member has moved rearward.

First, as shown in FIG. 7, in a normal state, the roll bar 19 is stored in the headrest portion 9 of the seat. At this time, the connecting member 25 is disposed on the upper side of the roll bar 19 and between the reinforcing ribs 51 and 51 of the cover member 17.

Next, when the vehicle predicts or detects rollover, as shown in FIG. 8, the roll bar 19 rises above the vehicle body, and the upper end 29 a of the protection part 29 comes into contact with the reinforcing rib 51 of the cover member 17.

Here, since a gap S of a predetermined dimension is provided between the roll bar 19 and the cover member 17, the roll bar 19 accelerates until it abuts on the cover member 17. Then, the roll bar 19 having a speed comes into contact with the cover member 17 and the cover member 17 is detached from the plate body 21 and the rod member 23. Specifically, the tongue piece 31 is disengaged from the engagement of the S-shaped clip 35 at the front part of the cover member 17, and the locking claw 45 is elastically deformed and disengaged from the engagement of the rod member 23 at the rear part. The member 17 moves upward in the vehicle body by a reaction caused by a collision with the roll bar 19.

Then, as shown in FIG. 9, when the roll bar 19 is further raised, the roll bar 19 pushes the connecting member 25 toward the rear obliquely upward, so that a tension acts on the long connecting member 25. Here, the other end 25b on the rear side of the connecting member 25 is locked to the rod member 23, and the rod member 23 is prevented from moving relative to the vehicle. Accordingly, when the roll bar 19 pushes the connecting member 25 on which the tension is applied to the vehicle rear side, the cover member 17 moves to the vehicle rear side.

Below, the effect by this embodiment is demonstrated.

(1) When the vehicle predicts or detects a rollover, the roll bar 19 (protruding member) protrudes toward the upper side of the vehicle body and comes into contact with the cover member 17 so that the cover member 17 has the plate body 21 and the rod member 23 ( After being removed from the vehicle body member), the cover bar 17 is configured to move to the vehicle rear side by the roll bar 19 hitting the connecting member 25 and applying tension to the connecting member 25.

In this way, when the roll bar 19 rises above the vehicle body and the cover member 17 is detached from the headrest portion in a so-called emergency in which the vehicle predicts or detects rollover, the cover member 17 moves to the vehicle rear side. Therefore, it is possible to reliably prevent the cover member 17 from moving toward the occupant P seated on the seat.

(2) Provided on the lower surface side of the cover member 17 are a plurality of reinforcing ribs 51 that are formed in a convex shape downward and extend in the vehicle front-rear direction, and are arranged at predetermined intervals in the vehicle width direction. The connecting member 25 is disposed between the plurality of reinforcing ribs 51 when the roll bar 19 is stored.

Accordingly, when the cover member 17 is removed toward the upper side of the vehicle body in an emergency and the connecting member 25 is extended in the longitudinal direction, the connecting member 25 is guided by the reinforcing rib 51, and therefore the connecting member 25 is smoothly extended. To be done. Further, the rigidity of the cover member 17 can be improved by the reinforcing rib 51.

(3) As shown in FIG. 4, with the roll bar 19 stored, a gap S is provided between the end of the roll bar 19 on the vehicle body upper side (projection direction side) and the cover member 17.

For this reason, when the roll bar 19 rises above the vehicle body in an emergency, the rising speed of the roll bar 19 can be efficiently increased.

That is, when there is no gap S between the upper end of the roll bar 19 and the lower surface of the cover member 17, the roll bar 19 is in contact with the lower surface of the cover member 17. 0, proper kinetic energy cannot be imparted to the cover member 17, and the cover member 17 rises while being in contact with the roll bar 19. On the other hand, when an appropriate gap S is provided between the upper end of the roll bar 19 and the lower surface of the cover member 17, when the roll bar 19 is raised in an emergency, the roll bar 19 accelerates until it contacts the lower surface of the cover member 17. The roll bar 19 hits with a predetermined kinetic energy mV (m: mass, V: ascending speed). As a result, the cover member 17 can be prevented from being broken or moved in an unexpected direction.

The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various changes and modifications can be made based on the technical idea of the present invention.

For example, in the above-described embodiment, the front portion of the cover member 17 is locked to the upper end of the plate body via the S-shaped clip, but the cover member 17 is configured to come off when the roll bar 19 rises and strikes. If it does, various locking means other than an S-shaped clip can be used.
