Description
The present invention relates to a laser processing apparatus that processes a workpiece (workpiece) with a laser.
For example, as a laser processing device, a laser is guided from a laser light source through an optical fiber cable, and the laser beam emitted and diffused from the end of the optical fiber cable is collimated by a collimator lens, and then condensed or imaged by a focus lens. It is known that the workpiece is irradiated with the laser to perform heat treatment, cutting, cutting, or welding.
It is well known that lasers are guided by mirrors instead of optical fiber cables.
In a laser processing apparatus, when cutting and cutting a metal plate as a workpiece, a 1 μm wavelength laser such as a YAG laser, a fiber laser, or a disk laser may be used.
These 1 μm-band lasers are known to have better absorption into metals than 10 μm-band lasers such as CO 2 lasers.
In such a laser processing apparatus, not only one that moves in the processing direction by simply irradiating the laser perpendicularly to the plate body and performs processing such as cutting, but when, for example, two metal members are welded There has been proposed a laser processing apparatus that reciprocates the laser irradiation position in a direction that is orthogonal to the laser optical axis and orthogonal to the laser moving direction when the two metal members cannot be sufficiently close to each other. (For example, refer to Patent Document 1).
Also, when cutting thick concrete members, the laser irradiation direction is oblique to the thickness direction, and the laser is moved in the processing direction by a predetermined pitch instead of moving the laser only in the processing direction. There has been proposed a laser processing apparatus capable of cutting a thick concrete member with a relatively small output by repeating the process and the process of moving the laser in the thickness direction at the moved position (for example, Patent Document 2). reference).
By the way, since the above-mentioned 1 μm wavelength laser has a good absorption rate with metal, an improvement in processing speed is expected with a thin metal plate. However, when processing a metal intermediate plate or thick plate, there is a problem that the surface roughness of the processed surface is poor when cut and cut as compared with the above-mentioned 10 μm wavelength laser. This problem appears particularly when stainless steel is processed.
For example, as shown in the schematic diagram of FIG. 6, when a
The width W (interval) of the vertical streaks changes depending on the moving speed of the laser. When the cutting phenomenon was photographed with a high-speed camera in order to investigate the cause, a spark from the lower part of the cutting (this is This is not continuous as in the case of a 10 μm band laser, but occurs explosively (intermittently) with a certain period.
As schematically shown in FIG. 7, this is the portion of the cut surface where the
A period of about 1 msec was observed.
Here, since the surface roughness of the machined surface in cutting and cutting is a problem, if the laser irradiation position is reciprocated in a direction orthogonal to the machining direction as in welding, even if the amplitude is slight, On the contrary, the surface roughness may be deteriorated.
Further, in cutting and cutting a thin metal plate compared to a concrete member or the like, it does not seem necessary to move the laser irradiation direction obliquely and move it in the thickness direction.
This invention is made | formed in view of the said situation, and makes it the subject to provide the laser processing apparatus which can aim at the improvement of the surface roughness of a processing surface in laser processing.
In order to solve the above problem, a laser processing apparatus according to claim 1 irradiates a workpiece with a laser and moves a laser irradiation position relative to the workpiece to move the workpiece. A laser processing apparatus for processing
A vibration means for vibrating the focal position of the laser irradiated to the workpiece in a direction along the optical axis of the laser;
While processing the workpiece by moving the irradiation position of the laser relative to the workpiece in a state where the focal position is vibrated along the optical axis direction by the vibrating means ,
A collimating lens that makes the laser guided from the light source side substantially parallel light, and a focusing lens that focuses the laser that has passed through the collimating lens with respect to the workpiece;
The vibrating means includes an oscillator that generates vibration including ultrasonic vibration, such as an electrostrictive oscillator and a magnetostrictive oscillator including a giant magnetostrictive oscillator, and the collimator lens or the focus lens along the optical axis direction of the lens. And a resonance mechanism that amplifies the amplitude of the vibration of the lens by resonating with the vibration of the vibrator with the lens as at least a part of a weight .
According to the first aspect of the present invention, there is provided vibration means for vibrating the focal position of the laser irradiated to the workpiece in a direction along the optical axis of the laser, and the focal position is vibrated along the optical axis direction. Since the workpiece is processed in a state, for example, when the workpiece is processed so as to be cut with a laser, the focal position is in the thickness direction of the workpiece along the optical axis of the laser, which is the laser irradiation direction. Will move. Further, the focal position is basically set within the thickness range of the workpiece, but it is preferable that the focal position is within the thickness range of the workpiece even in a vibrated state, but it is not limited thereto. It is not a thing.
As a result, the focal position vibrates in the optical axis direction, that is, in the thickness direction of the workpiece, so that, for example, a 1 μm wavelength laser having a high absorptivity with respect to metal is locally at the focal position of the thickness of the workpiece. By preventing absorption and dispersing laser absorption into the workpiece, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of vertical streaks as described above.
Also, by oscillating the focal position of the laser along the optical axis direction, disturbing the regular generation and breakage regularity of the molten pond, which becomes an intermittent and periodic explosion phenomenon as described above, The generation of ponds is prevented, thereby smoothing the work surface, that is, preventing the occurrence of vertical stripes.
Further , the surface roughness of the processed surface can be more effectively improved by amplifying the amplitude of the vibration of the collimator lens or the focus lens by the resonance mechanism with respect to the vibration of the small amplitude of the vibrator. In other words, if the amplitude along the optical axis direction of the focal position is about the same as that of a general ultrasonic vibrator, the surface roughness may not be improved sufficiently depending on the thickness of the workpiece. By amplifying the amplitude of the collimating lens or the focus lens, it becomes possible to amplify the amplitude of the focal position of the laser with respect to the amplitude of the vibrator, which is considerably thicker than the amplitude of a general ultrasonic vibrator The surface roughness of the processed surface of the workpiece can be improved. Further, by amplifying the amplitude of the vibration at the focal position by resonance, it is possible to deal with a thick workpiece at low cost.
The laser processing apparatus according to
A collimating lens that makes the laser guided from the light source side substantially parallel light, and a focusing lens that focuses the laser that has passed through the collimating lens with respect to the workpiece;
The vibrating means vibrates the collimating lens along the optical axis direction of the collimating lens.
In the second aspect of the invention, the collimating lens is vibrated along the optical axis direction of the irradiated laser by vibrating the collimating lens in the optical axis direction. In addition, it is possible to adopt a configuration in which there is less possibility of problems than when the entire laser torch having a focus lens is vibrated.
For example, since the height position of the nozzle of the laser torch changes, there is a problem that the amplitude is limited in order to prevent the nozzle from coming into contact with the workpiece. Further, since the amplitude of the focal point of the focal lens is expected to be amplified with respect to the amplitude of the collimating lens, the vibration amplitude in the vibration means that vibrates the collimating lens can be set small, and the cost for the vibration device can be reduced. In order to secure the amplitude of the vibration of the collimating lens, the influence on the structure can be reduced.
According to the laser processing apparatus of the present invention, the laser focal position is vibrated along the optical axis direction of the laser on a cutting surface such as cutting or cutting, thereby dispersing the laser absorption in the processing portion of the workpiece. be able to. This makes it possible to further smooth the processed surface. Furthermore, when metal plates are processed with a laser with a wavelength of 1 μm, especially when stainless steel is processed, the regularity between periodic melt pond generation and rupture is disturbed, and the above pond generation is suppressed. Thus, the occurrence of vertical stripes on the cut surface can be suppressed and a smoother surface can be obtained.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 shows a laser processing head (laser torch) used in the laser processing apparatus of this example.
The laser processing apparatus of this example includes a work table (not shown) and the laser processing head 1 shown in FIG. 1, and cuts, for example, a work (workpiece) placed on the work table.
In the laser processing apparatus, the position of the laser irradiated from the laser processing head on the work is substantially orthogonal to the optical axis direction of the laser by moving the work on the work table or the leather processing head in the XY axis direction. Is relatively movable.
The moving direction may be a uniaxial direction. Moreover, the workpiece | work side may move to a X-axis direction (uniaxial direction), for example, and a laser processing head may move to a Y-axis direction (direction crossing a uniaxial direction).
In this example, the laser processing head is supported on the workpiece so as to move in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction. In this example, the laser is irradiated so as to be substantially orthogonal to the surface of the plate-like workpiece. That is, the laser irradiation direction is the Z-axis direction orthogonal to the XY-axis direction described above.

The laser processing head 1 as described above includes the

BPP=M2・(λ/π)=(d0・D)/(1.27・λ・f)・(λ/π)=(d0・D)/(1.27・f・π)
BPP is an index representing beam quality, is a product of a beam divergence angle (half angle) and a minimum spot diameter (radius), and its unit is mm / mrad. The smaller the BPP value, the higher the beam quality.
In addition, M 2 (M square) is also known as an index representing beam quality, and represents how much it becomes larger than the theoretical minimum focused beam diameter, and is a value independent of wavelength. It has become.
BPP can be expressed by the following equation using M 2 .
BPP = M2 ・ (λ / π) = (d 0・ D) / (1.27 ・ λ ・ f) ・ (λ / π) = (d 0・ D) / (1.27 ・ f ・ π)

In addition, as the vibration source of the
Further, the vibration system in the vibration system including the
The frequency of vibration in the
Further, in the actual
Further, this optimum frequency is a frequency that can suppress the ejection of sparks repeated at about 1 μsec (1 kHz) as described above in a laser having a wavelength of 1 μm.
Further, the optimum frequency may change depending on the material, thickness, processing speed (moving speed of the laser irradiation position), etc., and these must be taken into consideration. When the optimum vibration frequency in the
Then, when a metal plate (plate 91) such as stainless steel is cut with a laser processing apparatus having such a laser processing head 1, a processing surface (cut surface) to which a laser is irradiated as shown in FIG. 92), the focal position S vibrates along the axial direction of the laser irradiated, and the focal locus K has a wave shape with an amplitude along the Z-axis direction as shown. For example, conventionally, the focal position of the laser irradiated along the cutting direction passes through a portion at a certain distance from the upper surface (surface) of the metal plate, and the laser energy is concentrated at a specific thickness position of the metal plate. In this example, the focal position of the laser moves up and down along the laser irradiation direction with respect to the movement of the laser irradiation position in the cutting direction. Although it depends on the moving speed, the absorption of laser energy is dispersed at the cutting position.
Thereby, the processing surface (cut surface) can be smoothed.
In addition, when the molten pool is generated and broken periodically in the cut portion as described above, energy absorption does not localize at the focal position, and the movement of the laser focal position causes the pond to move. It is possible to inhibit the generation of ponds or to promote the destruction of the pond, the periodicity is disturbed, the occurrence of vertical streaks due to this periodicity can be prevented, and the cut surface can be smoothed.
For example, if energy absorption is localized at a height position within the same thickness, there is a high possibility that a molten pond is likely to be formed near that portion. It becomes difficult to do. In addition, even if a molten pond is formed, the possibility that the molten pond is broken is increased by moving the focal position.
When the focal position is vibrated at an appropriate vibration frequency with respect to the discharge of the melt every 1 μsec described above, the rhythm of generation and breakage of the melt pond is more efficiently destroyed, There is a possibility of smoothing.
At this time, since the movement of the focal position vibrates along the laser emission direction, the displacement of the focal position is not affected differently depending on the laser processing direction (movement in the XY axis direction). That is, by changing the laser processing direction, the laser processing quality does not change and the laser processing direction can be applied in all directions. In particular, when the laser irradiation direction (Z-axis direction) is orthogonal to the machining direction, for example, the cutting direction (XY-axis direction), the cutting direction can be changed to any direction of 360 degrees within one plane. It is good, and not only a straight line but a processing direction may be a curve.

Depending on the material of the work piece and the wavelength of the irradiated laser (for example, a 10 μm band laser), the generation and destruction of the periodic melt pond as described above does not occur, and the cut surface is originally formed. In the smooth case, it is not necessary to disturb this periodicity. However, as described above, the focal position is vibrated along the irradiation direction of the laser to disperse the absorption of the laser energy on the non-workpiece side. For example, the laser processing apparatus of this example is not limited to cutting or cutting of stainless steel with a laser having a wavelength of 1 μm, but is applicable to a workpiece made of a material other than stainless steel. Application is also possible, and for example, lasers other than the 1 μm wavelength laser can also be applied.
In the above example, the collimating

FIG. 3 shows a laser processing head of the laser processing apparatus according to the second embodiment of the present invention in which the focus lens is vibrated.
Note that the laser processing head of the second embodiment can be used in the same laser processing apparatus as that of the first embodiment. In other words, the laser processing apparatus in the second embodiment has the same configuration as that of the first embodiment except that the laser processing head is different, and the description thereof is omitted.
