Description
The present invention relates to an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus, and more particularly to an apparatus capable of displaying a tomographic image at an arbitrary position of a breast.
An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus is a medical imaging device that non-invasively obtains a tomographic image of soft tissue in a living body from a body surface by an ultrasonic pulse reflection method or the like. Compared to other medical imaging devices, this ultrasonic diagnostic device is small, inexpensive, and has high safety without exposure to X-rays. Therefore, the circulatory system (heart coronary artery), digestive system (gastrointestinal), internal medicine Widely used in systems (liver, pancreas, spleen), urology (kidney, bladder), and obstetrics and gynecology. In particular, in recent years, in breast diagnosis, ultrasonic diagnosis has become possible to highly diagnose tumors and tumors, and has greatly contributed to the discovery of breast cancer, and its importance has been increasingly recognized.
In breast tissue, it is known that microcalcification often occurs as a sign of breast cancer. One or several microcalcification lesions are locally scattered. Since lime is harder than living tissue, it is expected to reflect ultrasonic waves well and to have high brightness on the image. However, when actually observing from the image, it is said that it is difficult to extract even if the size is about several hundred microns.
More specifically, first, interference fringes called speckle patterns due to random ultrasonic interference may occur on the ultrasonic image. This speckle pattern appears remarkably in an organ with a smooth surface. For this reason, in the case of the liver, which has such a smooth surface, for example, a doctor who has some experience, the speckle pattern that is known to appear can While canceling, it is possible to make use of the speckle pattern for diagnosis, such as by diagnosing a cirrhosis portion that has become unsmooth from the appearance of the speckle pattern. That is, in the organ having a smooth surface, the speckle pattern, which is noise, can be used for diagnosis.
On the other hand, in the case of breast cancer screening, the initial microcalcified lesion is buried in the speckle pattern appearing in the grain of rice (similarly) and is easily overlooked. Therefore, there is a need to remove the speckle pattern in breast cancer diagnosis, and examples of techniques for that include spatial synthesis, CFAR (Contrast False Alarm Rate) processing, and speckle reduction filter.
However, the mammary gland to be diagnosed in the breast cancer diagnosis has a complicated structure such as a mammary gland extending in a tree shape, and is not originally a homogeneous organ. For this reason, when the conventional filter processing is performed, a lesion portion that has been microcalcified is detected, and at the same time, the mammary gland structure is also extracted (as a structure), and there is a problem that the two cannot be clearly distinguished. In this respect, the mammary gland is a structure that is clearly larger than the microcalcified lesion. Therefore, even if it remains after filtering, it is expected to be discriminated visually. The inventors often experience in research that this is difficult. In particular, when only a part of the mammary gland structure remains, the image after the filter processing may look like a dot, and may be an image similar to a microcalcified lesion.
An object of the present invention is to provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of more accurately distinguishing between a continuous structure such as a mammary gland and a microstructure such as a microcalcified portion and extracting the microstructure.
The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus of the present invention is an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus that obtains an ultrasonic tomographic image of a breast. The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus is provided on each of a pair of chest sandwich plates for sandwiching the breast and the chest sandwich plates, and transmits and receives ultrasound. An ultrasonic probe capable of transmitting and receiving and transmitting an ultrasonic beam from each of the ultrasonic probes to the inside of the breast, and obtaining a tomographic image (reflection or transmission) obtained by each of the ultrasonic probes. And an image processing unit that obtains one composite tomographic image by performing addition processing, and each chest clip plate is provided with a window in which the ultrasound probe faces the breast and faces the breast. The surface has an ultrasonic absorption film.
According to the above configuration, two tomographic images are obtained by the transmission type or the reflection type by the two probes attached to the two chest clip plates, and they are added and processed to obtain one synthesized tomographic image. In order to make it possible to image a lesion with high sensitivity, a window is formed on the chest clip plate and a probe is attached, and an ultrasonic absorption film is formed on the surface facing the breast. When the first probe performs reception, a signal reflected by the other opposite probe or the chest plate is suppressed from becoming noise, and an image with reduced noise and speckle is obtained.
Therefore, a high S / N can be obtained for a synthetic tomographic image, and the microstructure can be extracted by accurately distinguishing between a continuous structure such as a mammary gland and a microstructure such as a microcalcified portion. .
In the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus of the present invention, the ultrasonic absorption film is made of a coating film in which a metal or a metal oxide is dispersed in a resin.
According to said structure, a metal or a metal oxide can absorb an ultrasonic wave easily, absorption can be improved by making it into microparticles | fine-particles, and an average particle diameter is 20 micrometers or less, Especially 10 micrometers or less are preferable, Moreover, 10 nm To the extent it is practical in terms of cost. Further, the content of the fine particles is preferably 10 to 90% by mass, and if it is less than 10% by mass, it becomes difficult to obtain desired ultrasonic absorption characteristics, and if it exceeds 90% by mass, the toughness of the ultrasonic absorption film Becomes weak, cracks occur, and problems such as peeling occur.
Furthermore, in the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus according to the present invention, the thickness of the ultrasonic absorption film is an odd multiple of a half wavelength [(λ / 2) (2n + 1)] (n is 0 or positive) (Integer).
According to said structure, the wavelength of an incident ultrasonic wave and a reflected ultrasonic wave is formed in the surface of a base material by forming the thickness of an ultrasonic absorption film | membrane in odd multiple (2n + 1) of a half wavelength ((lambda) / 2). The difference becomes half wavelength, and the effect of canceling each other can be used. As said n, 0-50 are preferable, Most preferably, it is 1-35.
Preferably, each of the ultrasonic probes receives an ultrasonic beam transmitted from one side and obtains transmission information of the breast.
Furthermore, in the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus of the present invention, the ultrasonic probe is an electronic scanning type ultrasonic probe, and a steering unit that causes the ultrasonic probe to scan the transmitted ultrasonic beam is provided. The image processing unit may further perform spatial synthesis or speckle reduction processing when reconstructing a tomographic image from a received signal from a scanned ultrasonic beam.
According to the above configuration, even if the ultrasonic absorption film is provided, since the noise that has been reflected by the other probe enters the probe that is peeked from the window of the mutually facing chest clip plate, A scanning ultrasonic beam is scanned (radiated in an oblique direction), and noise is removed (lessly affected) when a tomographic image is reconstructed, thereby obtaining an image with a better S / N. be able to.
As described above, the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus according to the present invention obtains two tomographic images by transmission or reflection using two probes attached to two chest sandwich plates, and adds them. In order to be able to image a lesion with high sensitivity by obtaining a single composite tomographic image, a window is formed in the chest clip plate and a probe is attached, and an ultrasonic absorbing film is placed on the surface facing the breast By reducing the noise and speckles, the signal reflected by the other probe or the chest clip is suppressed when one probe performs reception. Get.
Therefore, a high S / N can be obtained for a synthetic tomographic image, and a continuous structure such as a mammary gland and a minute structure such as a microcalcified portion can be accurately distinguished to extract the microstructure. it can.
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing an electrical configuration of an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram for explaining a method of using the same. This ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus is an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus suitably used for extracting a micro structure such as a microcalcification portion from a continuous structure such as a mammary gland. To do. This ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus is provided with a pair of electronic scanning ultrasonic probes (hereinafter referred to as probes) 1 and 2 disposed opposite to each other, and the
The
The
In accordance with the instruction from the
The electronically scanned signals for each scanning are input to the B-
The B-
It should be noted that in the present embodiment, the B, M mode image and Doppler image are input from the
The
On the other hand, the
The
The
FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view for explaining the structure of the
The
For the
The
Examples of the metal particles include tungsten (W), molybdenum (Mo), silver, platinum, palladium, indium, scandium, yttrium, and tantalum. Examples of the metal oxide particles include zinc oxide, zirconium oxide, aluminum oxide, Examples thereof include silicon oxide and titanium oxide. In addition, not only the metal or metal oxide, but at least one inorganic material selected from silicon carbide, aluminum nitride, carbon, boron nitride and the like may be selected. This is preferable because the attenuation factor of the ultrasonic wave is further increased.
The fine particles to be contained have an average particle diameter of 20 μm or less, preferably 10 μm or less, and the smaller the average particle diameter, the more preferable, but about 10 nm is practical in terms of cost. The fine particles are preferably contained in the ultrasonic absorbing
The thickness t of the ultrasonic absorbing
In the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus configured as described above, in the present embodiment, the two
That is, FIG. 5 conceptually shows a state in which the
Further, as described above, the
FIG. 3 shows how scanning is performed on the probe 1 side. By the delay time control, as shown by symbols Δ-Δ, ○-○, and □-□, transmission ultrasonic waves are scanned in the vertical direction and diagonally right and left directions of the
With this configuration, even if the
The method for removing speckle patterns is not limited to the spatial compound method, but a speckle reduction filter method for removing speckle patterns using statistical properties, an SRP (Speckle Reduction Processing) method, and the like. Can be used. In the SRP method, an area constituting an ultrasonic image is divided into small areas, a target pixel is provided in the divided small area in addition to a normal pixel, and the luminance of a pixel in the vicinity of the pixel εi for each target pixel εi. If the preset threshold value is V with respect to the result Qi obtained by subtracting the average value, the target pixel εi is displayed using the original luminance when Qi ≧ V, and Qi <V. In some cases, the speckle pattern is removed by not displaying the luminance value of the target pixel εi as zero. Here, some of the conventional spatial compound methods adopt a display form in which only the speckle is smoothed and the entire luminance is maintained, but from the gist of the present invention, spatial synthesis is performed. It is preferable to reduce the brightness of the speckle part together with smoothing the speckle.
Table 1 below shows the experimental results of the inventors. Table 1 shows changes in the content of metal fine particles in the
As is clear from Table 1, both the reflection type and the transmission type, as described above, obtained a good result with a sample containing 10% tungsten fine particles (plate number 4) to 90% (plate number 6). Particularly good results were obtained with 50% content (plate number 5). Even with the 50% sample, the transmission type is particularly good.
On the other hand, Table 2 shows the experiment results of the present inventors when the dry film thickness is changed. The
