Description

この発明は概して被覆部材に関し、具体的には、落雷に対する保護のための被覆部材に関する。
塗装は、長い間、表面、特に複雑な湾曲を有する表面にコーティングを施すための好まれるプロセスであった。塗装は概して、制御可能であり、信頼でき、容易で、用途の広いプロセスである。塗料は、光沢、色、反射率またはそれらの組合せなどの所望の物理特性を表面に与えるために添加剤を含み得る。塗装プロセスは、十分に理解されており、表面が複雑な湾曲を含むときでさえ均一な特性を有する上質のコーティングを生成する。しかしながら、塗装はより詳細な環境面での調査を受けている。なぜなら、塗料は結合剤および色素を担持するために揮発性溶剤を使用するからであり、または結合剤の前駆体および色素自体のためである。したがって、塗装プロセスを環境への影響がより少ないプロセスと置き換える必要がある。さらに、塗装は、十分に定義され、十分に理解され、一般的なものであるが、依然として、理由を説明するまたは他人に方法を教示することが必ずしもできずに精通者が初心者または見習よりもよりよい製品を製造する「技術分野」である。

概要として図1および図2を参照して、この発明の非限定的な実施例に従って、アップリケコーティング10が基板22に設けられる。アップリケコーティング10は、外層またはトップコートとして配置されるポリマーフィルム12と、金属フォイルから作られる蒸気(vapor)バリアフィルム18とを含む。感圧性接着剤24は、基板22に接着取付するための別の外層として配置される。ポリマーフィルム20は、蒸気バリアフィルム18と感圧性接着剤24との間に配置される。図2は、この発明の理解を高め得る特徴を強調するために、一定の比率に応じて描かれていない可能性がある。最初にアップリケ10の例示的な構成要素に関して詳細が説明され、続いて、この発明の例示的な実施例に従うアップリケの好ましいおよび代替的な実現例が説明される。

参照して、ファスナー404上に貼付けられた雷ダイバータ機能を有する上張り710およびアップリケ10は、雷ダイバータ機能を有する上張り710の両側で基板22上に貼付けられる。この構成は、雷ダイバータ機能を有する上張り710に関して示されたように金属フォイル718をパターニングすること、およびアップリケ10に関して示されたように金属フォイル18をパターニングしないままにすることと同程度に単純に実現され得る。雷ダイバータ機能を有する上張り710およびアップリケ10の残りの構造は有利に同一である。この構成の場合、ファスナー404の列上にあるパターニングされた金属フォイル718の領域に直接に落雷がある場合、雷ダイバータ機能を有する上張り710は上述のコロナ効果によって基板22の下にある構造を保護することになる。雷が他の場所に到達する場合、結果として生じる電流は、パターニングされた金属フォイル718の領域ではなく、アップリケ10の中の固体金属フォイル18の領域に流れようとすることになる。この構成は有利に、航空機のための頑強な雷保護スキームを作るように、落雷からの電流の流れを方向付けることができる。

Claims (8)

前記パターニングされた金属フォイルは、平方当たり100オーム以上のシート抵抗を有する複数の区域によって互いに分離された、金属フォイルからなる複数のセクションを含む、上張り。 - 前記パターニングされた金属フォイルの上にあるトップコートをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の上張り。
- 前記トップコートは、中に分散された半導体微粒子を含む、請求項2に記載の上張り。
- 前記ポリマーフィルムの下にある接着剤をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の上張り。
- 基板のための上張りを形成する方法であって、
金属フォイルを設けることと、
前記金属フォイルをパターニングすることと、
前記金属フォイルの下にある第1のポリマーフィルムを設けることと、を含み、
