【従来の技術】
5位及び6位に水酸基が置換したインドリン誘導体及びインドール誘導体は、空気中の酸素によりメラニン色素に変換することが知られている。例えば、特許第2996724号公報には、ケラチン繊維用の酸化染料として5,6-ジヒドロキシインドリンの使用が提案されており、色合いを改良するために、他の既知の酸化染料中間体と共に使用することが記載されている。5,6-ジヒドロキシインドリンを用いた染毛剤の色合いを改良するその他の方法としては、特表平7-501062号公報に通常の酸化染料や酸化染料前駆物質との併用が、WO93/09758に天然染料との併用が提案されている。またWO99/06016には、塩基性化剤としてアンモニアのみを使用し、染料前駆物質として5,6-ジヒドロキシインドリンを単独で使用した場合における赤みのある色合いを抑制するために、染料前駆物質のカップリング成分、好ましくは2,4-ジアミノフェノキシエタノール等と併用することが提案されている。

しかしながら、染料前駆物質としてインドリン誘導体を単独で使用し、栗色から黒色にかけての色合いを生み出す技術は知られていない。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
従って本発明は、染料前駆物質としてインドリン誘導体のみを使用し、東洋人の白髪を隠蔽するのに好適な、自然な栗色から黒色にかけての色合いに染毛できる染毛剤組成物を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明者らは、インドリン誘導体と共に、アルカリ剤としてアルカノールアミンとアンモニアを適当な混合比で共存させれば、驚くべきことに、自然な栗色から黒色の色合いの、染色力に優れた染毛剤が得られることを見出した。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明で使用されるインドリン誘導体(1)としては、5,6-ジヒドロキシインドリン、N-メチル-5,6-ジヒドロキシインドリン、N-エチル-5,6-ジヒドロキシインドリン、N-ブチル-5,6-ジヒドロキシインドリン、5-メトキシ-6-ヒドロキシインドリン、2-メチル-5,6-ジヒドロキシインドリン、3-メチル-5,6-ジヒドロキシインドリン、5-ヒドロキシ-6-メトキシインドリン等が挙げられ、なかでも5,6-ジヒドロキシインドリンが好ましい。またこれらインドリン誘導体の塩としては、塩酸塩、臭化水素酸塩、硫酸塩、リン酸塩、酢酸塩、プロピオン酸塩、乳酸塩、クエン酸塩等が挙げられ、なかでも臭化水素酸塩が好ましい。すなわち、インドリン誘導体(1)又はその塩の最も好ましいものとして、5,6-ジヒドロキシインドリンの臭化水素酸塩が挙げられる。なお、5,6-ジヒドロキシインドリンは、5,6-ジアシルオキシインドリンの形で染毛剤組成物に配合し、塩基性条件下、加水分解することにより生じさせてもよい。

インドリン誘導体(1)又はその塩は、1種以上を使用することができ、その含有量は、東洋人の白髪を隠蔽するのに好適な、自然な栗色から黒色にかけての色合いに染色する点から、本発明の染毛剤組成物の0.01〜10重量%、特に0.1〜5重量%が好ましい。

本発明では、アルカリ剤としてアルカノールアミンとアンモニアを併用する。アルカリ剤としてアンモニアを単独で使用した場合には、赤みの強い色合いとなり東洋人の白髪を隠蔽するには有効でない。アンモニアとアルカノールアミンを適宜混合することにより、赤みのない自然な栗色から黒色にかけての色合いが得られる。アルカノールアミンとしては、モノ−、ジ−及びトリエタノールアミン並びにそれらの誘導体が挙げられるが、染色力の点から、モノエタノールアミン、イソプロパノールアミン、特にモノエタノールアミンが好ましい。アルカノールアミンは、1種以上を使用することができる。

アルカノールアミンとアンモニアとの重量比は、東洋人の白髪を隠蔽するのに好適な、自然な栗色から黒色にかけての色合いに染色する点から、1対99〜99対1、特に99対1〜15対85が好ましい。アンモニアに対するアルカノールアミンの重量比を大きくすれば黒色が強くなり、アルカノールアミンに対するアンモニアの重量比を大きくすれば栗色が強くなることから、染毛剤組成物中のアルカノールアミンとアンモニアとの含有量の比率を調整することにより、所望の色合いが得られる。すなわち、染料としてインドリン誘導体(1)又はその塩を含有する染毛剤組成物を毛髪に適用し、当該化合物を空気中の酸素と反応させることにより染毛する方法において、当該染毛剤組成物に含まれるアルカリ剤としてアルカノールアミン及びアンモニアを併用し、かつこれら2種のアルカリ剤の比率を調整することにより、栗色から黒色にかけての所望の染毛色を得ることができる。

アルカノールアミンとアンモニアを合わせたアルカリ剤としての総含有量は、十分な染色力の点及び皮膚に対する作用が穏和な点から、本発明の染毛剤組成物の0.01〜20重量%、特に0.1〜10重量%が好ましい。

インドリン誘導体(1)又はその塩は、塩基性条件で空気中の酸素と反応しメラニン色素に変換される。このため、本発明の染毛剤組成物のpHを、8〜12の範囲、特に8.5〜11の範囲に調整するのが好ましい。

本発明の染毛剤組成物は、クリーム、ゲル、ローション、フォーム等の形態をとることができ、エアゾールの形で包装するのが安定性の点から好ましい。また、徐染性タイプとするには、例えば、染毛剤組成物を毛髪に塗布した後、1〜10分間放置し、この操作を2〜数回繰り返すことにより、人に気づかれず徐々に白髪を目だたなくすることができる。
