Description
下記の構造式(I)を有する光化学的活性染料を含む光学的透明基板を用意する段階(A)と、
基板の体積素子内で光化学的活性染料の少なくとも一部を光生成物に転化させるのに共に十分な第1の波長及び強度を有するホログラフィック干渉パターンで光学的透明基板を照射し、照射された体積素子内にホログラフィック干渉パターンに対応した光生成物の濃度変化を生み出し、それによって体積素子に対応した光学的に読取り可能なデータを生成させる段階(B)と、
光学的透明基板を活性化して残留光化学的活性ニトロン染料中のニトロン酸素に対する分子内水素結合を形成することで光学的に読取り可能なデータを安定化する段階(C)と
を含んでなる方法を提供する。
(式中、Xは各々独立に酸素原子、窒素原子、硫黄原子又はセレン原子であり、P1は有機保護基であり、「a」は1又は2である。)
別の態様では、本発明は、ホログラフィックデータ記憶方法であって、
下記の構造式(VI)を有する光化学的活性ニトロンを含む光学的透明基板を用意する段階(A)と、
基板の体積素子内で光化学的活性ニトロンの少なくとも一部を光化学的活性ニトロンの光生成物に転化させるのに共に十分な第1の波長及び強度を有するホログラフィック干渉パターンで光学的透明基板を照射し、照射された体積素子内にホログラフィック干渉パターンに対応した光生成物の濃度変化を生み出し、それによって体積素子に対応した第1の光学的に読取り可能なデータを生成させる段階(B)と、
光学的透明基板を活性化して残留光化学的活性ニトロン染料中のニトロン酸素に対する分子内水素結合を形成することで光学的に読取り可能なデータを安定化する段階(C)と
を含んでなる方法を提供する。
下記の構造式(I)を有する光化学的活性染料を含む光学的透明基板を、基板の体積素子内で光化学的活性染料の少なくとも一部を光生成物に転化させるのに共に十分な第1の波長及び強度を有するホログラフィック干渉パターンで照射し、照射された体積素子内にホログラフィック干渉パターンに対応した光生成物の濃度変化を生み出し、それによって体積素子に対応した第1の光学的に読取り可能なデータを生成させる段階(A)であって、ホログラフィック干渉パターンは第1の波長を有する2つの干渉ビームで光学的透明基板を同時に照射することで生み出される段階(A)と、
光学的透明基板を活性化して残留光化学的活性ニトロン染料中のニトロン酸素に対する分子内水素結合を形成することで光学的に読取り可能なデータを安定化する段階(B)と、
光学的透明基板を読取りビームで照射し、回折光を検出することで光学的に読取り可能なデータを読み取る段階(C)と
を含んでなる方法を提供する。

さらに別の態様では、本発明は、光学的透明プラスチック材料、及び下記の構造式(I)を有する光化学的活性染料を含んでなるデータ記憶媒体を提供する。

さらに別の態様では、本発明は、1以上の光学的に読取り可能なデータをその中に記憶したデータ記憶媒体であって、
当該データ記憶媒体は、光学的透明プラスチック材料、下記の構造式(I)を有する光化学的活性染料、光化学的活性染料から導かれる光生成物、及び光化学的活性染料又は光生成物或いはこれらの組合せから導かれる光安定な生成物を含み、
光学的に読取り可能なデータは、光学的透明基板の1以上の体積素子内にパターン化されたホログラムとして記憶されるデータ記憶媒体を提供する。

比較例1は、ホログラフィック記憶媒体中へのホログラフィックデータの記憶を例示している。以下の作業は、遮光下又は赤色光条件下及び窒素雰囲気下で実施した。
実施例1は、比較例1に記載したようにして作製したホログラム記憶媒体中に記憶されたデータの寿命が、光化学的活性ニトロン中に存在するt−ブトキシカルボニルオキシ基をヒドロキシ基に熱的に転化させる(活性化する)ことでニトロン酸素に対する分子内水素結合を形成した場合に向上することを例示している。
この比較例は、ホログラフィック記憶媒体中へのホログラフィックデータの記憶を例示している。以下の作業は、遮光下又は赤色光条件下及び窒素雰囲気下で実施する。
実施例2は、比較例2に記載したようにして作製したホログラム記憶媒体中に記憶されたデータの寿命が、当初は光化学的活性であったニトロン染料を分子内水素結合の存在によって安定化した場合に向上することを例示している。
比較例3は、ホログラフィック記憶媒体中へのホログラフィックデータの記憶を例示している。以下の作業は、遮光下又は赤色光条件下及び窒素雰囲気下で実施する。
この実施例は、比較例3に記載したようにして作製したホログラム記憶媒体中に記憶されたデータの寿命が、脱保護後に大気中の水分に暴露することで内部水素結合を形成した場合に向上することを例示している。
Claims (21)
- ホログラフィックデータ記憶方法であって、
下記の構造式(I)を有する光化学的活性染料を含む光学的透明基板を用意する段階(A)と、
基板の体積素子内で光化学的活性染料の少なくとも一部を光生成物に転化させるのに共に十分な第1の波長及び強度を有するホログラフィック干渉パターンで光学的透明基板を照射し、照射された体積素子内にホログラフィック干渉パターンに対応した光生成物の濃度変化を生み出し、それによって体積素子に対応した光学的に読取り可能なデータを生成させる段階(B)と、
光学的透明基板を活性化して残留光化学的活性ニトロン染料中のニトロン酸素に対する分子内水素結合を形成することで光学的に読取り可能なデータを安定化する段階(C)とを含んでなり、光生成物がオキサジリジンである、方法。

- 前記活性化段階が、分子内水素結合を有するプロトン付加ニトロンを生成させるのに十分な熱エネルギーで残留光化学的活性ニトロン染料を熱活性化することを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記活性化段階が、分子内水素結合を有するプロトン付加ニトロンを生成させるのに十分な量の水分に残留光化学的活性ニトロン染料を暴露することを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記活性化段階が、分子内水素結合を有するプロトン付加ニトロンを生成させるのに十分な量の酸素に残留光化学的活性ニトロン染料を暴露することを含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 光学的透明基板がポリカーボネートである、請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 光化学的活性染料が下記の構造式(II)を有するニトロンである、請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 光化学的活性染料が下記の構造式(III)を有するニトロンである、請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 光化学的活性染料が、オルト−(tert−ブトキシカルボニルオキシ)フェニル−N−フェニルニトロン、オルト−(2−ニトロベンジルオキシ)フェニル−N−フェニルニトロン、オルト−(トリイソプロピルシリルオキシカルボニルオキシ)フェニル−N−フェニルニトロン及びこれらの組合せからなる群から選択される芳香族ニトロンである、請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 光生成物が芳香族オキサジリジンである、請求項1乃至請求項9のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 芳香族オキサジリジンが下記の構造式(IV)を有する、請求項10記載の方法。
- 芳香族オキサジリジンが下記の構造式(V)を有する、請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記第1の波長が375〜450nmである、請求項1乃至請求項12のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記第1の波長が450〜550nmである、請求項1乃至請求項12のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記第2の波長が第1の波長より長く、第2の波長が450〜1500nmである、請求項2記載の方法。
- 前記第2の波長が第1の波長より長く、第2の波長が550〜1500nmである、請求項2記載の方法。
- ホログラフィックデータ記憶方法であって、
下記の構造式(VI)を有する光化学的活性ニトロンを含む光学的透明基板を用意する段階(A)と、
基板の体積素子内で光化学的活性ニトロンの少なくとも一部を光化学的活性ニトロンの光生成物に転化させるのに共に十分な第1の波長及び強度を有するホログラフィック干渉パターンで光学的透明基板を照射し、照射された体積素子内にホログラフィック干渉パターンに対応した光生成物の濃度変化を生み出し、それによって体積素子に対応した第1の光学的に読取り可能なデータを生成させる段階(B)と、
光学的透明基板を活性化して残留光化学的活性ニトロン染料中のニトロン酸素に対する分子内水素結合を形成することで光学的に読取り可能なデータを安定化する段階(C)と
を含んでなり、光生成物がオキサジリジンである、方法。
- 光学的書込み/読取り方法であって、
下記の構造式(I)を有する光化学的活性染料を含む光学的透明基板を、基板の体積素子内で光化学的活性染料の少なくとも一部を光生成物に転化させるのに共に十分な第1の波長及び強度を有するホログラフィック干渉パターンで照射し、照射された体積素子内にホログラフィック干渉パターンに対応した光生成物の濃度変化を生み出し、それによって体積素子に対応した第1の光学的に読取り可能なデータを生成させる段階(A)であって、ホログラフィック干渉パターンは第1の波長を有する2つの干渉ビームで光学的透明基板を同時に照射することで生み出される段階(A)と、
光学的透明基板を活性化して残留光化学的活性ニトロン染料中のニトロン酸素に対する分子内水素結合を形成することで光学的に読取り可能なデータを安定化する段階(B)と、
光学的透明基板を読取りビームで照射し、回折光を検出することで光学的に読取り可能なデータを読み取る段階(C)と
を含んでなり、光生成物がオキサジリジンである、方法。
