Description
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus including an electrophotographic image forming process unit, and more particularly to an improvement of a cleaning member in a corona discharger constituting the image forming process unit.
An image forming apparatus including an electrophotographic image forming process unit is widely used in a copying machine, a facsimile machine, a printer, or a so-called multifunction machine having these functions. A corona discharger is incorporated as one component of such an image forming process unit. The corona discharger is a charger that uniformly charges the surface of the photosensitive drum, a transfer device that transfers the toner image on the surface of the photosensitive drum to a recording medium (recording paper), and further, a charge remover on the surface of the photosensitive drum. Used for static eliminators and the like Conventionally, a wire electrode has been used as an electrode of a corona discharger, but there is a problem of ozone generation, and recently, a needle electrode that generates less ozone has been frequently used.
By the way, in the cleaning device as disclosed in the above-mentioned Patent Document 1, the two shaft portions supporting the pair of rollers are urged in a direction facing each other, so that both rollers exert a urging load on both surfaces of the needle electrode. It will rotate in the state. Therefore, this load acts so as to prevent the rotation of both rollers, so that the sliding resistance is also increased. In order to relieve the load that hinders the rotation of the roller, the roller is supported on the support shaft via the bearing member, or the rotation shaft integral with the roller is supported by the bearing member, and the load is received by these bearing members. Although it is necessary to provide such a bearing member on both rollers, the number of parts increases.
As a measure not to increase the number of parts as described above, a shaft rotation sliding contact member (roller) and a non-rotation sliding contact member are combined, an urging load is applied only to the non-rotating sliding contact member, and a needle electrode is interposed between the two members. It is conceivable that the needle electrode is cleaned by sliding both members together. In this case, no direct load is applied to the shaft rotation sliding contact member, so that a bearing member for reducing the load that hinders rotation is unnecessary, a good cleaning function is achieved without increasing the number of parts, and the practical value is increased. It is expected to be. However, when both the members are nipped and the needle electrode is sandwiched and slid into the nip portion, the needle portion of the needle electrode may be caught on the sliding surface of the non-rotating sliding contact member, and the needle electrode may be bent. is there.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and provides an image forming apparatus provided with a corona discharger that can be efficiently cleaned without increasing the number of parts and that does not cause needle electrode catching during a cleaning operation. The purpose is to do.
The image forming apparatus of the present invention is an image forming apparatus provided with a corona discharger, wherein the corona discharger includes a case portion, a needle electrode stretched in the case portion, and a longitudinal direction of the needle electrode sandwiched between the case electrode and the needle electrode. A cleaning member that is slidable along a direction, and the cleaning member is attached to the case portion so as to be capable of reciprocating along the longitudinal direction of the needle electrode, and is supported by the moving member. Two sliding contact members composed of a combination of a non-rotating sliding contact member and an axial rotating sliding contact member sandwiching the needle electrode from both sides, and the moving body so as to elastically bias the non-rotating sliding contact member against the axial rotating sliding contact member And the biasing means provided between the non-rotating sliding contact member, and the two sliding contact members have a nip portion slightly closer to the non-rotating sliding contact side than the needle electrode extending line. It is characterized in that the mutual positions are set so as to be the same position.
In the present invention, the non-rotating sliding contact member is supported by the movable body so as to be movable and non-rotatable toward the axial rotational sliding contact member, and the axial rotational sliding contact member is supported by the bearing portion of the movable body so as to be capable of rotating the shaft. Can be. Further, the corona discharger can be a charger for charging the surface of the photosensitive drum constituting the image forming process section.
In the image forming apparatus of the present invention, the corona discharger includes the needle electrode and a cleaning member that is slidable along the longitudinal direction across the needle electrode. The needle electrode is cleaned by sliding along the longitudinal direction. The cleaning member includes a moving body attached to the case portion of the corona discharger so as to be capable of reciprocating along the longitudinal direction of the needle electrode, and a non-rotating sliding contact member that is supported by the moving body and sandwiches the needle electrode from both sides. Provided between the movable body and the non-rotating sliding contact member so as to elastically urge the non-rotating sliding contact member against the axial rotating sliding contact member. Therefore, when the movable body is reciprocated by sandwiching the needle electrode between both sliding contact members, the non-rotating sliding contact member is elastically biased against the shaft rotation sliding contact member by the biasing unit. In this state, the both sides of the needle electrode are elastically sandwiched, and wiping and cleaning of toner, silicon, and the like is effectively performed. Since the biasing load is applied only to the non-rotating sliding contact member, the sliding resistance does not increase, and the bearing member that receives the load to reduce the load is provided. There is no need to provide both sliding members, and the number of parts does not increase.
Further, the non-rotating sliding contact member and the axial rotating sliding contact member are mutually positioned so that the nip portion is positioned slightly closer to the non-rotating sliding contact side than the needle electrode tension line. Therefore, when the moving body reciprocates, the needle electrode of the needle electrode is less likely to be introduced into the nip portion from the non-rotating sliding contact member side, and accordingly, the needle portion is caught on the non-rotating sliding contact side. The possibility of bending of the needle electrode due to is reduced. Incidentally, there is a high possibility that the needle electrode is introduced into the nip portion from the shaft rotation sliding member side. However, since the shaft rotation sliding contact member is rotated by the relative movement of the needle electrode, the needle portion is caught. The resistance is small and the possibility of bending the needle electrode is very low.
The non-rotating sliding contact member is supported by the movable body so as to be movable and non-rotatable toward the axial rotational sliding contact member, and the axial rotational sliding contact member is supported by the bearing portion of the movable body so as to be axially rotatable. In this case, a load is applied to the non-rotating sliding contact member, and no direct biasing load is applied to the shaft rotating sliding contact member. It is not necessary to provide another member for preventing the sliding member from interfering with rotation, and it is effective by reducing the number of parts.
In addition, when the corona discharger is a charger for charging the surface of the photosensitive drum constituting the image forming process unit, a charger that easily adheres toner, paper dust, silicon, etc. to the needle electrode. The suitability as a cleaning device is further increased.

The
Both legs of the
The one sliding
Further, the
The shaft rotation sliding
The nip portion n of the two sliding contact members (non-rotating sliding contact member and axial rotating sliding contact member) 30 and 31 is arranged on the non-rotating sliding
A procedure for cleaning the
When reciprocating in the state of being elastically biased in this way, the shaft rotation sliding
Since the nip n of the sliding
