Description

The present invention relates to a recording apparatus such as an ink jet printer that performs recording by discharging water-based ink onto a recording material conveyed by a conveying means, and particularly occurs when recording is performed on the recording material using water-based ink. The present invention relates to a recording apparatus that can prevent curling that is easily performed.

As a conventional document describing a curl prevention technique in an ink jet recording apparatus, for example, JP-A-4-197637 can be cited. In this document, curling is not so much in a serial type recording apparatus with a low recording speed, but a curling problem is particularly likely to occur in a line type recording apparatus having a full line head capable of high speed recording, and prevention of curling. As a technology, applying anti-curl liquid or vapor to the back side of the recording surface of the recording material during or after recording causes the back side to swell and expand in the same way as the recording side. It is stated that it will be reduced. Specific examples of the anti-curl liquid to be applied to the back surface include liquid obtained by removing only dye from pure water or recording ink.

The curl is related to the amount of water-based ink attached, and is particularly noticeable when recording a so-called solid image with a large amount of ink attached. By the way, in the case of a solid image, a boundary portion of different colors becomes a boundary line and appears as a pattern in the entire image. The pattern is an element constituting the recorded image itself on the recording surface side. However, when the pattern is seen through the back surface, the pattern is somewhat annoying. When a liquid is applied to the back surface to prevent curling, there is a tendency that the pattern on the recording surface is more easily seen from the back surface.

Further, when recording is performed on both the front and back surfaces of the recording material, an image in which a non-adherent area of water-based ink (such as a white window on white paper) exists on one side A of the front and back surfaces to a certain extent. When G (A) is recorded and a solid image G (B) is recorded on the entire surface B on the opposite side, the pattern (boundary line) constituting the solid image G (B) is changed to the water surface of the A surface. There is a problem that the image is seen through the non-ink-attached area (white window), and the image (image quality) of the image G (A) is greatly changed (decreased).

Curling is unlikely to occur on thick, high-stiffness paper such as postcards and special paper for photo printing, but it occurs on low-rigidity paper, such as plain paper that is commonly used as printing paper in normal office work. Cheap. Also, this plain paper is easy to see the pattern (boundary line) through the back side of the recording surface. Accordingly, in particular, plain paper is prone to curl when recording a solid image, and also has a problem that the pattern (boundary line) of the recording surface is easily seen from the back side.

The object of the present invention is to prevent the occurrence of curling due to the discharge of water-based ink even on a recording material such as plain paper, and in addition, the pattern (boundary line) of the recording surface can be seen through from the back surface. It is an object of the present invention to provide a recording apparatus that does not cause a problem.

In order to solve the above-described problem, a recording apparatus according to a first aspect of the present invention performs recording by transporting a recording material and discharging water-based ink onto the recording material transported by the transporting device. It is configured to control the operation of the white liquid adhering portion so as to adhere a white aqueous liquid.

According to the present invention, the white aqueous liquid is attached to the area of the back surface of the recording material corresponding to the aqueous ink adhesion area where the aqueous ink is ejected and adhered to the recording surface of the recording material. In addition to preventing the recording material from curling due to the discharge of the water-based ink, it is possible to prevent the problem that the pattern (boundary line) of the recording surface can be seen through from the back surface. The effect of the present invention is remarkable when used for recording a recording material with low rigidity such as plain paper.

Here, the adhesion region (front) of the water-based ink and the adhesion region (back) of the white aqueous solution do not need to be exactly the same, and may be shifted as long as there is no difference in the curl prevention effect. is there.

According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the recording apparatus according to the first aspect, the white aqueous liquid is a white aqueous ink made of the same solvent as the aqueous ink.
According to the present invention, in addition to the function and effect according to the first aspect, the white aqueous liquid is a white aqueous ink composed of the same solvent as the aqueous ink. The anti-curl effect can be obtained easily and reliably.

According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the recording apparatus according to the first aspect or the second aspect, a recording material reversing mechanism is disposed in a conveyance path of the recording material, and the white liquid adhering portion is A white liquid discharge nozzle array similar to the ink discharge nozzle array of the recording head is provided, and the white aqueous liquid is discharged from the white liquid discharge nozzle array to the back surface which is reversed by the reversing mechanism and located on the upper surface side. It is comprised so that it may be comprised.

According to the present invention, in addition to the operational effects of the first aspect or the second aspect, the white liquid adhering portion includes a white liquid discharge nozzle array similar to the ink discharge nozzle array of the recording head, and a reversing mechanism. Since the white aqueous liquid is ejected from the white liquid ejection nozzle array to the back surface of the recording material that is reversed and positioned on the upper surface side, similarly to the ejection of the aqueous ink onto the recording surface. In addition, the white liquid can be stably discharged to the back surface, each state of swelling / extension and drying on both the front and back surfaces can be more easily homogenized, the curl prevention effect can be further enhanced, and from the back surface It is possible to prevent the problem that the pattern (boundary line) of the recording surface can be seen through.

According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the recording apparatus according to the third aspect, the control unit is configured such that the amount of white aqueous liquid ejected from the white liquid ejection nozzle row is ejected from the ink ejection nozzle row. Control is performed so as to be the same as the amount of ink. Thereby, in addition to the effect which concerns on a 3rd aspect, each state of swelling expansion | extension and drying of both front and back both surfaces can be further homogenized, and the curl prevention effect can be heightened further.

According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, in the recording apparatus according to the first aspect or the second aspect, the recording material transport path is formed in a U-shaped transport path having a horizontal transport path up and down, and the recording head Are arranged in the upper horizontal conveyance path and the lower horizontal conveyance path, respectively, so that recording can be performed on both the front and back surfaces of the recording material. The white liquid adhering portion is also provided on the U-shaped conveyance path on both the front and back surfaces of the recording material. Each of the white liquid is disposed so as to be capable of discharging a white aqueous liquid, and the white liquid adhering portion includes a white liquid discharge nozzle array similar to the ink discharge nozzle array of the recording head, The white aqueous liquid is ejected from the white liquid ejection nozzle row to the water-based ink adhering region on the opposite recording surface and the water-based ink non-adhering region on the back surface. And even It is.

According to the present invention, in addition to the operational effects of the first aspect or the second aspect, the white liquid adhering portion includes a white liquid discharge nozzle array similar to the ink discharge nozzle array of the recording head, The white aqueous liquid is ejected from the white liquid ejection nozzle row to the water-based ink adhering region on the recording surface opposite to the rear surface from which the white aqueous liquid is ejected and to the non-adhering region of the aqueous ink on the rear surface. Thus, the following operational effects are obtained.

When recording is performed on both the front and back surfaces of the recording material, an image G in which a non-adherent area of water-based ink (such as a white window on white paper) exists on one side A of the front and back surfaces with a certain size. Even when (A) is recorded and the solid image G (B) is recorded on the entire opposite surface B, white aqueous liquid is ejected from the white liquid ejection nozzle row to the aqueous ink non-adhering region. Thus, the curl can be prevented and the pattern (boundary line) constituting the solid image G (B) can be seen through the non-adhesive region (white window) on the surface A. It is possible to prevent the image from being seen, and it is possible to execute recording that firmly represents the image (image quality) of the image G (A).

According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, in the recording apparatus according to any one of the third to fifth aspects, the white liquid discharge nozzle row is provided in the recording head. It is what.

According to the present invention, in addition to any of the functions and effects of the third to fifth aspects, the white liquid discharge nozzle array is provided in the recording head. The white liquid discharge control from the white liquid discharge nozzle row for the purpose of preventing the see-through of the white liquid can be performed in the same manner as the water-based ink discharge control for recording image formation on the recording surface. The discharge position and the discharge amount can be performed with high accuracy, and high-quality recording can be realized.

In front and back double-sided recording, in particular, on the current recording execution surface, white liquid is ejected onto the “white window (water-based ink non-adhered area)” portion at the same time as recording quality at the same time as the formation of the recorded image. Therefore, curling prevention and see-through prevention can be performed with high accuracy and high efficiency.

[Example 1]
Example 1 which is an embodiment of the recording apparatus according to the present invention will be described. Example 1 is a recording apparatus for single-sided recording. FIG. 1 is a schematic configuration diagram of a main part of a recording apparatus according to the first embodiment.
The recording apparatus according to the first embodiment is a line-type ink jet recording apparatus capable of performing high-speed recording, and includes conveyance rollers 21 and 22 that constitute conveyance means for conveying the recording material 1, and a recording target conveyed by the conveyance rollers 21 and 22. A recording head 3 of a full line head that performs recording by discharging aqueous inks of four colors (yellow, magenta, cyan, and black) onto the material 1, and recording of the recording material 1 that is recorded by the recording head 3 A white liquid adhering portion 4 for adhering a white aqueous liquid to the rear surface 1b of the surface 1f, and a controller 5 for controlling the operations of the transport rollers 21, 22, the recording head 3, and the white liquid adhering portion 4 are provided. .

In this embodiment, the white liquid adhering portion 4 is disposed in the vicinity of the downstream side of the recording head 3 below the transport path 7. As a mechanism for attaching the white liquid, a droplet ejecting mechanism having a drop receiving portion (not shown), an application mechanism using a roller, or the like can be used as appropriate.

The white aqueous liquid is not limited to a specific one as long as it can prevent the pattern on the recording surface from being seen through the back surface and has an anti-curl effect. In this embodiment, a white aqueous ink made of the same solvent as the aqueous ink is used.

The adhesion area of the white liquid is controlled by the control unit 5. That is, the control unit 5 determines the white aqueous liquid in the back surface region 6b corresponding to the water-based ink adhering region 6f that is ejected and adhered to the recording surface 1f of the recording material 1 in advance. The operation of the white liquid adhering portion 4 is controlled so as to adhere at the adhering timing and the adhering amount.

Here, the adhesion region (front) 6f of the water-based ink and the adhesion region (back) 6b of the white aqueous liquid do not have to be exactly the same, and may be shifted within a range in which there is no difference in the curl prevention effect. Of course.

Next, the operation of the first embodiment will be described. Since the recording material 1 has a white aqueous liquid attached to the area 6b on the back surface of the recording material 1 corresponding to the aqueous ink adhesion area 6f to which the aqueous ink is ejected and adhered from the recording head 3 to the recording surface 1f. In addition to preventing curling of the recording material 1 due to ink ejection, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of a problem in which the pattern (boundary line) of the recording surface 1f can be seen through from the back surface 1b. Further, since the white aqueous liquid is a white aqueous ink composed of the same solvent as the aqueous ink, it is possible to easily homogenize the swelling / extension and drying states on both the front and back surfaces, and to easily and reliably obtain the curl prevention effect. be able to.

[Example 2]
Example 2 which is an embodiment of the recording apparatus according to the present invention will be described. Example 2 is also a recording device for single-sided recording. FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram of a main part of the recording apparatus according to the second embodiment.
In this embodiment, a reversing mechanism 8 for the recording material 1 is disposed in the conveyance path 7 of the recording material 1. The reversing mechanism 8 is formed by a known U-shaped path, and has a configuration in which the back surface 1b of the recording material 1 becomes the top surface after reversing. In FIG. 2, reference numerals 23 and 24 denote transport rollers, and their operations are controlled by the controller 5. The white liquid adhering portion 4 includes a white liquid discharge nozzle row 10 having a nozzle structure similar to that of the ink discharge nozzle row 9 of the recording head 3, and is reversed by the reversing mechanism 8 and located on the upper surface side. The white aqueous liquid is discharged from the white liquid discharge nozzle row 10. The amount of the white aqueous liquid ejected from the white liquid ejection nozzle row 10 is controlled by the control unit 5 so as to be the same as the amount of the aqueous ink ejected from the ink ejection nozzle row 9. Since other configurations are the same as those of the first embodiment, the same portions are denoted by the same reference numerals and description thereof is omitted.

The operation of the second embodiment will be described. According to the second embodiment, the white liquid adhering portion 4 includes the white liquid discharge nozzle row 10 having the same nozzle structure as the ink discharge nozzle row 9 of the recording head 3 and is reversed by the reversing mechanism 8 to be on the upper surface side. The white aqueous liquid is discharged from the white liquid discharge nozzle row 10 onto the back surface 1b of the recording material 1 positioned at the position. Accordingly, the white liquid can be stably and stably discharged onto the back surface 1b in the same manner as the discharge of the water-based ink onto the recording surface 1f, and the swelling / extension and drying states of the front and back surfaces 1f and 1b can be easily and more homogeneous. Therefore, the curl prevention effect can be further enhanced, and the occurrence of a problem that the pattern (boundary line) of the recording surface 1f can be seen through from the back surface 1b can be prevented.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view for explaining a recording result of recording on plain paper according to the second embodiment. FIG. 3A is a perspective view from the recording surface 1f side of the recording material 1 on which the designed letter “A” is recorded, and FIG. 3B is a perspective view from the back surface 1b. FIG. 3C is a perspective view from the back surface 1b and shows a case where the white liquid of the present invention is used.
In the conventional anti-curl solution, the pattern (boundary line) of the recording surface 1f can be seen through from the back surface 1b as shown in FIG. 5B, but according to the present invention, it is shown in FIG. Thus, it can be seen that the problem that the pattern (boundary line) of the recording surface 1f can be seen through from the back surface 1b is prevented.

Further, since the amount of the white aqueous liquid discharged from the white liquid discharge nozzle row 10 is controlled to be the same as the amount of the water-based ink discharged from the ink discharge nozzle row 9, swelling expansion on both the front and back surfaces Further, the curling prevention effect can be further enhanced by further homogenizing the respective states of drying and drying.

[Example 3]
A third embodiment which is an embodiment of the recording apparatus according to the present invention will be described. Example 3 is a recording apparatus for double-sided recording. FIG. 4 is a schematic configuration diagram of a main part of the recording apparatus according to the third embodiment.
In this embodiment, the conveyance path 7 of the recording material 1 is formed in a U-shaped conveyance path 70 having a horizontal conveyance path in the vertical direction, and the recording head 3 is provided in the upper horizontal conveyance path 71 and the lower horizontal conveyance path 72, respectively. It is arranged so that recording can be performed on both the front and back surfaces of the recording material 1.

The white liquid adhering portion 4 is also disposed in the U-shaped conveyance path 70 so that the white aqueous liquid can be discharged on both the front and back surfaces of the recording material 1. In this embodiment, the white liquid discharge nozzle array 10 having the white liquid discharge nozzle array 10 is provided integrally with the recording head 3.
Further, the white liquid adhering portion 4 includes a white liquid discharge nozzle row 10 having a nozzle structure similar to the ink discharge nozzle row 9 of the recording head 1, and is opposite to the back surface 1b for discharging the white aqueous liquid. White aqueous liquid is ejected from the white liquid ejection nozzle array 10 to the aqueous ink adhesion region 6f on the recording surface 1f and the aqueous ink non-adhesion region 30 (see FIG. 5 described later) on the back surface 1b. It is configured as follows. Since other configurations are the same as those of the second embodiment, the same portions are denoted by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof is omitted.

The operation of the third embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. An image 6f of the character “ABCD” designed as shown in FIG. 5 (A) is recorded on the recording surface 1f, and other images as shown in FIGS. 5 (B) and 5 (C) are also recorded on the back surface 1b. The image 6f (b) is recorded. Here, FIG. 4B shows a case where a conventional anti-curl solution is used, and FIG. 4C shows a case where the white liquid of the present invention is used.

When recording is performed on the front and back sides 1f and 1b of the recording material 1, a non-adhesive region (such as a white window on a white paper) 30 of water-based ink is on a certain size on one side 1b of the front and back sides. Even when a solid image 6f is recorded on the entire surface 1f on the opposite side, the white aqueous liquid remains in the aqueous ink non-adhering region 30 from the white liquid discharge nozzle row 10 even when the existing image 6f (b) is recorded. Since a white film is formed by being discharged, curling can be prevented, and the pattern (boundary line) constituting the solid image 6f is formed from the aqueous ink non-adhering region (white window) 30 on the back surface 1b. As shown in FIG. 5C, it is possible to prevent see-through, and it is possible to execute recording that firmly represents the image (image quality) of the image 6f (b). In FIG. 5B, the image on the opposite side is seen through the region 30.

Further, since the white liquid discharge nozzle array 10 is provided integrally with the recording head 3, the white liquid discharge nozzle array 10 is provided for the purpose of preventing curling and preventing the recorded image from being seen through from the back surface. Since the white liquid discharge control can be performed in the same manner as the water-based ink discharge control for recording image formation on the recording surface 1f, the discharge position and discharge amount of the white liquid can be performed with high accuracy and high quality. Recording can be realized.

In particular, in front and back double-sided recording, white liquid is applied to the “white window (water-based ink non-adhered area)” 30 portion at the same time as recording quality on the current recording execution surface simultaneously with the formation of a recorded image. Since it can be discharged, it is possible to prevent curling and see-through with high accuracy and high efficiency.
