更に、フランジ縁部5cにおける外径よりも僅かに大きくなるように形成されていた円形パッキン4が径方向に延伸され、熱プレス加工を経ることによって、フランジ縁部5cを覆設することができるので、フランジ縁部5cが露呈した状態を防止することができる。これによって、スナップボタンにおける雄スナップ部又は雌スナップ部となる係止体(図示しない)を係合させる際のプレスによる圧力により、フランジ縁部5cが生地7に食い込んで当該部分が破断する、或いは、生地の耐久性を低下させるといったことを解消することができる。また、フランジ縁部5cによって、怪我をする虞もなくなる。
また、円形パッキン4は、生地7と同系色若しくは生地7の色に合わせた色を使用しているので、外観上の体裁もよく意匠性を向上させることができる。
更に、ホットメルト接着剤1により円形パッキン4を予め止め具5に固着して一体として、パッキン付止め具6を形成していることから、部品点数を増やすことなく、従来のボタン取付機を用いて、スナップボタンにおける雄スナップ部又は雌スナップ部となる係止体(図示しない)へ係合して生地7に取付けることができる。
尚、これらの効果は、厚手の生地等に使用した際にも、同様の効果を奏することは勿論である。
