Description

The present invention relates to a connector and a detection terminal accommodated in the connector.

As a means for detecting that a pair of connector housings to be fitted to each other is properly fitted, one using a detection terminal is known. For example, the device described in Patent Document 1 has a configuration in which a detection terminal is inserted and held in the connector housing from behind, while the counterpart detection terminal is attached to the counterpart connector housing. In the connector housing, a lock arm extending rearward from the upper front end of the connector housing is formed in a cantilevered manner and can be flexibly deformed (oscillated and displaceable). The rear end of the lock arm is provided with a pressing portion for the detection terminal that is swung in the vertical direction.

The detection terminal is disposed immediately below the lock arm, and includes a fulcrum portion supported by the front inner wall of the connector housing at the front end portion and a main body portion extending obliquely upward and rearward from the fulcrum portion toward the rear, The action part that is pressed by the pressing part of the lock arm is formed at the rear end of the main body part by turning it upward into a mountain shape, and the contact part that contacts the mating detection terminal is at the center in the front-rear direction of the main body part It is formed to protrude. On the other hand, the counterpart detection terminal has a pin shape as a whole and is elongated in the front-rear direction. In the mating connector housing, ribs are formed so as to protrude along the upper surface of the mating detection terminal to prevent deformation of the mating detection terminal.
In the process in which the connector housing is mated with the mating connector housing, the lock arm rides on the protruding lock receiving portion provided on the mating connector housing and is bent and deformed. By pushing this down, the contact portion is separated from the counterpart detection terminal. When the connector housing is properly mated with the mating connector housing, the lock arm is moved backward to lock the lock receiving portion so that both connector housings are locked in the mated state and the lock arm is restored. Accordingly, the action part is displaced upward, and the contact part comes into contact with the partner detection terminal from below. Thereby, the detection circuit is closed via both detection terminals, and it is electrically detected that both connector housings are properly fitted.
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-41018

In the above case, the pressing portion provided at the rear end portion of the lock arm presses the operating portion provided at the rear end portion of the detection terminal, so that the contact portion is separated from the counterpart detection terminal. The position of the contact portion and the contact portion is set to a position that is considerably rearward (back side) from the front surface of the connector housing. Therefore, it is necessary to extend the front end position of the partner detection terminal to at least a position where it can come into contact with the contact portion, and accordingly, it is longer than the other signal terminals, and the protection by the rib is indispensable. It was. As a result, there has been a problem that the demand for connector miniaturization cannot be met and the cost is high.

The present invention has been completed based on the above situation, and an object thereof is to shorten the length of the counterpart detection terminal.

And a lock receiving portion is provided in the other connector housing and a counterpart detection terminal is accommodated, and the detection terminal extends in the front-rear direction. A fulcrum portion to be attached to the wall surface of the one connector housing at an intermediate portion in the length direction, an action portion on the rear side in the length direction across the fulcrum portion, and the fulcrum portion interposed therebetween When the two connector housings are in a half-fitted state, the lock arm is bent and deformed, and accordingly the push on the lock arm side is provided. When the part presses the action part, the detection terminal is tilted in a seesaw shape around the fulcrum part, and the contact part is displaced to a position away from the counterpart detection terminal. In the fitted state, the lock arm moves backward to lock the lock receiving portion to lock the two connector housings, and the pressing portion is pressed by the return operation of the lock arm. by the detecting terminals are backward is released, contact with the sensing circuit and the detection terminal of the contact portion is the counterpart is shall is closed, the detecting terminal, the contact portion and the working portion A flat terminal body extending in the front-rear direction while including the fulcrum part in a substantially L shape in plan view, and a base end part protruding laterally from both side edges of the terminal body; It consists of a press-fit body portion which projects substantially perpendicularly from the protruding end of the end portion, has a feature where the said press fitting main body is configured to be press-fitted and fixed to the wall inside of the one connector housing.

Invention of Claim 2 is a detection terminal accommodated in one connector housing of a pair of connector housings that can be fitted while facing the front surfaces of each other, and extending in the front-rear direction. The intermediate portion in the length direction is provided with a fulcrum portion to be mounted on the wall surface of the one connector housing, and is provided in the one connector housing on the rear side in the length direction across the fulcrum portion. In the state where the contact portion is displaced to a position away from the mating detection terminal and the two connector housings are properly fitted, the lock arm is moved backward to move the other side. The connector housings are locked by locking the lock receiving portions provided in the connector housing, and the pressing state by the pressing portion is released along with the return operation of the lock arm, and the detection terminal is moved back. by, in contact with the detection circuit and the detection terminal of the contact portion is the counterpart is shall is closed, the plate-shaped terminal body to be extended in the longitudinal direction while including the contact portion and the working portion And the fulcrum portion has a substantially L shape in plan view, and protrudes at a substantially right angle from a protruding end of the base end portion and a base end portion protruding laterally from both side edges of the terminal body in the width direction. It consists of a inlet main body, having characterized in that the press-fitting body portion is configured to be press-fitted and fixed to the wall inside of the one connector housing.

<Invention of Claims 1 and 2 >
In a state where both connector housings are half-fitted, the detection terminal is tilted in a seesaw shape around the fulcrum portion by the pressing portion pressing the action portion of the detection terminal by the bending operation of the lock arm, while the two connector housings In the state where is normally fitted, the contact part on the front side of the detection terminal comes into contact with the other detection terminal and the detection circuit is closed. Even if it exists, it becomes possible to set the contact part of a detection terminal in the front side of a connector housing. As a result, the length of the mating detection terminal can be set short, avoiding an increase in the size of the connector, and by aligning the mating detection terminal with the same length and shape as the other signal terminals, other signal terminals And the ribs conventionally required to protect the other party's detection terminal can be eliminated.

Further, the fulcrum part is composed of a base end part projecting laterally from both side edges of the terminal body in the width direction, and a press-fit body part projecting substantially perpendicularly from the projecting end of the base end part, and the press-fit body part is one connector housing. Therefore, the detection terminal tilts with a spring property around the fulcrum portion. Therefore, as both connector housings are properly fitted, the contact portion of the detection terminal can be quickly and reliably displaced toward the counterpart detection terminal.

The amount of protrusion of the lock receiving portion 98 is the same as the amount of bending of the lock arm 20 described later. Two release pieces 99 of the short-circuited terminal 89 having a L-shaped cross section are provided between the male terminal fitting 92 located at the lower stage and the male terminal fitting 92 located at the middle stage on the inner wall of the fitting cylindrical portion 91. They are formed side by side and project forward.

The connector housing 10 is made of a synthetic resin and has a block shape as a whole. The cavity 11 that accommodates the female terminal fitting 95 is formed in three upper and lower stages at a position corresponding to the male terminal fitting 92. The female terminal fitting 95 is primarily locked in a state of being prevented from coming off by a lance 12 formed to be able to bend at the front end portion of the inner wall of the cavity 11. An electric wire 101 is connected to the rear end of the female terminal fitting 95 and led out from the rear surface of the connector housing 10.
The front surface of the connector housing 10 is covered with a front mask 80, and the front mask 80 extends vertically between the temporary locking position and the main locking position along the front surface of the connector housing 10. It can be displaced in a direction perpendicular to the fitting / removing direction of the housings 10 and 90. The front mask 80 is lowered to the temporary locking position during the continuity test, and is raised to the final locking position when the connector housings 10 and 90 are fitted together. A plurality of insertion ports 81 through which the terminals 97 are inserted are arranged, and a plurality of jig insertion ports 82 through which a jig for continuity inspection is inserted are arranged at positions different from the insertion ports 81.

An insertion groove 16 for the side retainer 85 is formed on the outer surface of the connector housing 10. The insertion groove 16 is opened over three surfaces extending from the lower surface of the connector housing 10 to both side surfaces, and a side retainer 85 is attached to the insertion groove 16 from below. The side retainer 85 has a comb-like shape as a whole and can be displaced vertically between the temporary locking position and the main locking position. When the side retainer 85 is held at the temporary locking position, the female terminal fitting 95 is provided. When the female terminal fitting 95 that is normally inserted into the cavity 11 is retained in the locked state, the female terminal fitting 95 is secondarily locked in a state where it is prevented from being detached.
The connector housing 10 has recesses 19 for receiving the short-circuit terminals 89 on both sides in the width direction between the lower cavity 11 and the middle cavity 11. The short-circuit terminal 89 is configured to extend in the front-rear direction as a whole, and an intermediate portion thereof penetrates the inside of the side retainer 85, and a contact piece 88 divided into two is provided at the front portion. Such a short-circuited terminal 89 is always elastically contacted from below with the corresponding female-side terminal fitting 95 by each contact piece 88 so that both female-side terminal fittings 95 are short-circuited. The release piece 99 of the mating connector housing 90 is divided between one of the contact pieces 88 and the corresponding female terminal fitting 95, and this one contact piece 88 is pushed down in the short-circuit release direction, so that the short-circuit state is established. Is released.

A lock arm 20 is formed integrally with the connector housing 10. The lock arm 20 includes an arm portion 21 that extends in the front-rear direction (a direction parallel to the fitting / removing direction of the connector housings 10 and 90) with a space between the lock arm 20 and the upper surface of the connector housing 10. The arm portion 21 is configured to extend rearward from the front end of the upper surface of the connector housing 10 in a cantilever shape, and an insertion space 60 into which the upper end of the front mask 80 enters is cut at the base portion of the front end. It is not formed.
A central portion in the width direction of the arm portion 21 is disposed one step lower than both side portions in the width direction, and a claw-like lock protrusion 25 is provided on the upper surface thereof. The front surface of the lock protrusion 25 is a guide surface 26 that recedes in an arc shape toward the top. During the fitting process of the connector housings 10 and 90, the lock receiving portion 98 is slidably contacted with the guide surface 26 and the lock arm 20 is bent. Is made smoothly. The rear surface of the lock projection 25 is a locking surface 27 that is cut substantially vertically. When the two connector housings 10 and 90 are properly fitted, the lock receiving portion 98 is connected to the locking surface 27 of the two connector housings 10 and 90. Both connector housings 10 and 90 are locked in a fitted state by facing each other in the pulling direction.

As shown in FIG. 5, the lock arm 20 is supported by a pair of support legs 28 raised from both ends of the upper end of the arm portion 21, so that the operation portion is positioned higher than the arm portion 21. 29 is formed. When the lock state of the lock arm 20 is released, the operation unit 29 is pressed to forcibly deform the lock arm 20 in the unlocking direction. The rear end of the lower surface of the lock arm 20 can be pressed against the detection terminal 50 at a position behind the lock protrusion 25 in the front-rear direction and substantially the same position as the operation unit 29. A pressing portion 24 is formed.

A housing recess 30 for the detection terminal 50 is formed in a substantially central portion in the width direction of the connector housing 10 so as to open to the front surface and the upper surface of the connector housing 10. A stage portion 31 protrudes from the bottom surface of the housing recess 30 in the housing recess 30, and an assembly space 32 for the detection terminal 50 that is one step lower than the general top surface of the connector housing 10 is formed at the upper end of the stage portion 31. It is held. As shown in FIG. 4, a press-fit receiving portion 33 for press-fitting the detection terminal 50 is formed on the side inner wall of the housing recess 30 on both sides of the rear portion of the stage portion 31 with the assembly space 32 interposed therebetween. A press-fit space 34 of the detection terminal 50 is formed in the press-fit receiving portion 33 so as to open in a bag shape on the front surface and extend obliquely upward and rearward. The detection terminal 50 is supported in a seesaw shape with respect to the stage portion 31, and a space before and after the stage portion 31 is an escape space 35 of the swinging detection terminal 50. Of these, the front relief space 35 with the stage portion 31 in between is an entry space 36 in which the mating male detection terminal 97 can enter, and in the process of fitting both the connector housings 10 and 90, The male side detection terminal 97 enters along the bottom surface.

Next, the detection terminal 50 will be described. The detection terminal 50 is formed by punching a conductive metal plate into a predetermined shape and then bending it, and is arranged with its plate surface facing up and down as shown in FIG. Specifically, the detection terminal 50 includes a band-shaped terminal main body 51 extending in the front-rear direction, and a contact portion 53 that can be brought into contact with the mating male-side detection terminal 97 is formed on the front end side of the terminal main body 51. An action portion 54 that is pressed by the pressing portion 24 of the lock arm 20 is formed at the rear end portion of the main body 51, and further, an intermediate portion of the terminal main body 51, specifically, a front-rear direction (length direction) central portion of the terminal main body 51. A fulcrum portion 52 supported by the wall surface of the connector housing 10 is formed at a slightly rear position.

In addition, a slit 55 is cut in the terminal body 51 from the front end of the terminal body 51 to the vicinity of the region where the fulcrum portion 52 is formed, and a pair of left and right bending pieces 56 are formed on both sides of the slit 55. Yes. The contact portion 53 is formed by bending downward at the distal end portion of each bending piece 56 and has a substantially U shape. The action portion 54 is formed by turning the rear end portion of the terminal body 51 upward in a mountain shape, and the pressing portion 24 of the lock arm 20 can come into contact with the outer surface of the top of the curved surface. The fulcrum part 52 is formed such that a pair of left and right sides project laterally from both side edges of the terminal body 51 in the width direction, and has a wing shape as a whole. Specifically, the fulcrum portion 52 includes a base end portion 57 that protrudes laterally (direction orthogonal to the fitting direction) from both side edges in the width direction of the terminal body 51, and a rear side (a mating connector housing) from the protruding end of the base end portion 57. The press-fitting main body portion 58 projects in the fitting direction 90) and has a substantially L shape.

The press-fit main body 58 of the support portion 52 is inserted obliquely upward and rearward with respect to the press-fit space 34 of the press-fit receiving portion 33. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 2, the detection terminal 50 takes a forward tilted posture in a natural state. Thus, when the action part 54 is pressed by the pressing part 24 from the initial position where the detection terminal 50 assumes the inclined posture, the detection terminal 50 (specifically, the terminal body 51) is tilted and displaced elastically around the fulcrum part 52. Thus, the contact portion 53 is lifted and displaced to a non-contact position where it does not interfere with the counterpart male-side detection terminal 97. In this case, the detection terminal 50 has a shape in which the front side sandwiching the fulcrum portion 52 is easily bent and deformed via the slit 55, while the rear side sandwiching the fulcrum portion 52 is a continuous surface without a break. Since the rigidity is increased, smoothness of the displacement operation is guaranteed.

Next, the operation of this embodiment will be described.
First, the short-circuit terminal 89 is inserted and attached to the housing portion 19 of the short-circuit terminal 89 from the front, and the detection terminal 50 is inserted and attached to the housing recess 30 of the detection terminal 50 from the front. When the detection terminal 50 is mounted, the press-fitting main body 58 of the detection terminal 50 is press-fitted into the press-fitting space 34 of the press-fitting receiving part 33 from the rear end. Then, the detection terminal 50 is attached and fixed to the inner wall surface of the connector housing 10 while taking an inclined posture. When the detection terminal 50 is held in the initial position in this way, the contact portion 53 is arranged slightly spaced from the bottom surface of the receiving recess 30 (specifically, the entry space 36), and the action portion 54 is arranged close to the lock arm 20 side. Is done. In this case, as shown in FIG. 2, the distance between the contact portion 53 and the bottom surface of the housing recess 30 is slightly shorter than the thickness of the mating male detection terminal 97. By approaching 20 side, it enters into the bending operation area | region of the press part 24 of the lock arm 20. As shown in FIG. After mounting the detection terminal 50, the height position of the contact portion 53 is confirmed from the front by infrared irradiation or the like to check whether the detection terminal 50 is correctly mounted. Here, since the contact portion 53 is arranged on the front end side of the connector housing 10, the visibility is different from that in the conventional case where the contact portion 53 is arranged at a position where the contact portion 53 enters from the front side of the connector housing 10. And the height inspection can be easily performed.

A front mask 80 is attached to the front surface of the connector housing 10, a side retainer 85 is inserted into the insertion groove 16 of the connector housing 10, and a female terminal fitting 95 is inserted into the cavity 11 of the connector housing 10 from the rear. Then, the lance 12 performs primary locking. When all the female terminal fittings 95 have been inserted, the side retainer 85 is moved to the final locking position, and the female terminal fitting 95 is secondarily locked.

Next, both front surfaces of the connector housing 10 and the mating connector housing 90 are opposed to each other, and the connector housing 10 is fitted into the fitting tube portion 91 of the mating connector housing 90 from this state. Then, as shown in FIG. 3, the lock protrusion 25 of the lock arm 20 rides on the lock receiving portion 98 during the fitting of the connector housings 10 and 90. As a result, the arm portion 21 is bent and deformed, and the pressing portion 24 is displaced downward, and the action portion 54 of the detection terminal 50 is pushed down by the pressing portion 24 in the direction of the arrow shown in FIG. Thus, as the action part 54, that is, the rear side of the detection terminal 50 is pushed down, the detection terminal 50 is tilted in a seesaw shape around the fulcrum part 52, and the front side of the detection terminal 50, that is, the contact part 53 is Lifted away from the bottom. After the contact portion 53 is lifted, the male detection terminal 97 enters along the bottom surface of the housing recess 30, but at this time, the insertion path for the male detection terminal 97 is vacant on the bottom surface of the housing recess 30. The male side detection terminal 97 and the contact portion 53 do not contact each other.
Further, in the fitting process of the connector housings 10 and 90, the release piece 99 pushes down the contact piece 88 of the short-circuit terminal 89 to release the short-circuit state. Thus, when the connector housing 10 is inserted into the fitting tube portion 91 at a normal depth, as shown in FIG. 1, the lock protrusion 25 passes through the lock receiving portion 98 and the arm portion 21 returns to the original horizontal posture. Accordingly, the lock protrusion 25 faces the lock receiving portion 98 in the direction in which both the connector housings 10 and 90 are pulled out, and both the connector housings 10 and 90 are locked in the fitted state.

When the connector housing 10 is properly fitted and the pressing state of the pressing portion 24 against the action portion 54 is released, the detection terminal 50 also moves back to the initial position as shown in FIG. The male side detection terminals 97 are contacted from above. In accordance with the contact operation of the contact portion 53 with respect to the male detection terminal 97, the detection circuit is closed in a loop shape, whereby both the connector housings 10 and 90 are locked in the fitted state, and thus both the connector housings. It is electrically detected that 10, 90 are properly fitted. In this state, the contact portion 53 is in a slightly bent state, and the action portion 54 is in a free state separated from the pressing portion 24.

On the other hand, when the connector housing 10 is not inserted into the fitting cylinder portion 91 at a normal depth and is kept in a half-fitted state, the lock protrusion 25 is run on the lock receiving portion 98 and the lock arm 20 is bent. As a result, the pressed state of the contact portion 53 against the action portion 54 is not released, and the contact portion 53 is maintained at a non-contact position separated from the male side detection terminal 97. Therefore, the detection circuit is not closed, and it can be seen that the connector housings 10 and 90 are not properly fitted.

As described above, according to the present embodiment, the following effects can be achieved.
Since the detection terminal 50 is tilted in a seesaw shape around the fulcrum portion 52 in conjunction with the bending operation of the lock arm 20, the detection circuit is turned on and off, so that the lock arm 20 moves backward from the front end of the connector housing 10. Even if the conventional lock arm 20 that is extended in a cantilever shape and is provided with a pressing portion 24 against the detection terminal 50 on the rear end side of the lock arm 20 is used, the detection terminal 50 is provided on the front end side of the connector housing 10. Can be set. Therefore, it is not necessary to lengthen the length of the male side detection terminal 97 in particular, and as described above, it is possible to set the same length dimension as that of the adjacent male side terminal fitting 92. As a result, the ribs required for protecting the male side detection terminal 97 can be eliminated, and the manufacturing cost can be reduced by sharing with the adjacent male side terminal fitting 92. Further, since the contact positions of the detection terminals 50 and 97 are set closer to the front surface of the connector housing 10, the entire connector can be downsized.

Further, since a pair of fulcrum portions 52 of the detection terminal 50 project from both side edges of the terminal body 51 and are press-fitted into the press-fit receiving portions 33 of the connector housing 10, the detection terminal 50 has springiness with the fulcrum portion 52 as the center. Tilt elastically. Therefore, as both connector housings 10 and 90 are properly fitted, the contact portion 53 of the detection terminal 50 can be quickly and reliably displaced toward the counterpart detection terminal 50 side.
