The rotation center portion 13 is covered with a light-shielding pointer cap 15.

When the pointer portion 14 is provided with a transparent white print layer provided by a hot stamp or the like on the side of the observer and is displayed by external light reflection without using the pointer light source 1 in the daytime when the surroundings are bright, etc. At night when the surroundings are dark and the surroundings are dark, the light emitted from the pointer light source 1 passes through the white printing layer and becomes white transmitted light and is viewed in white.

The drive source 11 includes a stepping motor, a cross coil, and the like, and is provided on the back surface of the circuit board 8 described in detail later. The drive source 11 has a drive shaft 12 that extends from the drive source 11 through the circuit board 8 and extends in the direction of the dial 4, and a rotation center portion 13 of the pointer 3 is fixed to the tip of the drive shaft 12.

The dial plate 4 includes a light-shielding layer (hereinafter referred to as a background portion) 16 formed by applying a black light-shielding ink to a light-transmitting member made of synthetic resin or the like, and a transmission portion 10. The pointer 3 rotates on the viewer side.

The transmission unit 10 is formed of white-colored transparent chromatic ink and serves as an index 17 indicating the engine speed of the vehicle. The scale 17 is a scale-shaped opening provided in correspondence with the number 17. The design is constituted by the portion 18 and is added in an arc shape in 0.5 increments, and a pointer is designated. The numeral 17 is visually recognized in the chromatic color by ambient light reflection during bright daytime and the like, and the numeral 17 formed of transmissive ink is visually recognized by the transmitted light having the chromatic color in dark surroundings. The light shielding layer forming the background portion 16 may be formed directly on the light guide 5 by printing or the like, or a light shielding plate or the like may be used.

The light guide 5 is a transparent member made of acrylic, polycarbonate (PC), cycloolefin polymer (COP), or the like, and is provided along the counter-observer side of the dial 4. The light guide 5 includes an incident surface 19 at the outer edge thereof, receives light from the design light source 2 provided to face the incident surface 19, and diffuses the light throughout the light guide 5. The light guide 5 includes a convex portion 20 on the observer side surface and a reflecting portion 21 on the counter-observer side surface.

The convex portion 20 protrudes in a scale shape, is inserted into the scale portion 18 provided to be opened in the dial plate 4, and is exposed on the dial plate 4. By configuring the convex portion 20 as described above, it is possible to provide a three-dimensional appearance.

The reflecting part 21 is a predetermined series of a plurality of minute grooves recessed in a V shape provided in the design region S facing the transmitting part 10 provided on the dial 4 on the side opposite to the observer of the light guide 5. It has an uneven pattern shape. The reflection part 21 reflects light toward the transmission part 10 (the numeral 17 and the scale part 18) by a reflection surface forming a minute groove recessed in the V shape by roughening. The reflection part 21 provided by the above structure reflects the transmitted light L1 emitted from the design light source 2 and incident from the incident surface 19 toward the transmission part 10 at night when the surroundings are dark. An observer visually recognizes a scale that emits light with high luminance in the emission color of the design light source 2 by the transmitted light L1. In addition, the reflection part 21 may use not only a groove | channel but uneven | corrugated pattern shapes, such as a dot and a grain | texture, and if the formation location reflects light in the transmission part 10, FIG. 4 shows 2nd Embodiment. As shown, it may be formed in the outer edge region E corresponding to the outer edge of the transmission part 10.

The metal tone layer 6 has a gold or silver tone surface by printing, vapor deposition or the like on the viewer side surface of the base material 22 made of a synthetic resin provided on the anti-observer side of the light guide 5 via an air layer. And is formed substantially congruently with the scale part 18 so as to face the scale part 18. The metallic tone layer 6 provided by the above configuration reflects the external light L2 that enters from the transmission part 10 (scale part 18), such as in the daytime when the surroundings are bright, and the observer visually recognizes the reflected external light L2. In this way, a metallic (metallic) appearance is produced.

In the present embodiment, when the metal tone layer 6 is directly provided on the light guide 5, there is a possibility that the groove of the reflecting portion 21 formed by the fine roughening process is filled with the metal tone layer 6. In order to prevent the control of the reflected light from becoming complicated, an air layer is set between the light guide 5 and provided on a base material 22 that is separate from the light guide 5. Thereby, the surface area of the metal tone layer 6 can be ensured and it can be set as a high reflectance. However, if the desired reflectivity can be ensured without filling the groove of the reflective portion 21 with the metallic tone layer 6, avoid the reflective portion 21 as shown in FIG. 4 as the second embodiment. The metallic tone layer 6 may be directly formed on the light guide 5.

Further, as shown in the third embodiment in FIG. 5, when the reflective portion 21 is formed only in the outer edge region E around the transmissive portion 10 (scale portion 18) excluding the transmissive portion 10, Correspondingly, the metallic tone layer 6 congruent with the scale part 18 can also be provided directly on the non-observer side of the light guide 5.

Moreover, the metal tone layer 6 should just provide at least the scale part 18, and as shown in FIG. 6 as 4th Embodiment, the metal tone layer 6 is comprised with a metal flat plate member, The entire region of the light guide 5 opposite to the viewer side may be opposed.

The facing member 23 is made of black synthetic resin or the like, and is provided with a window portion 24 that faces the dial 4 and defines a display area of the dial 4 in the center. The facing member 23 is provided on the observer side of the dial plate 4 with a predetermined interval, and the window portion 24 hangs down on the dial plate 4 and is inclined so that the cross section has a substantially mortar shape.

The circuit board 8 is a hard board made of glass epoxy resin or the like, and a driving source 11 is mounted on the back surface, and a plurality of pointer light sources 2 made of LEDs are mounted on the front surface. The circuit board 9 is provided perpendicular to the light guide 5 so that the design light source 2 to be mounted faces the light guide 5 incident surface 19.

The case 6 is made of synthetic resin and is made of a white material that covers the back side of the circuit board 7 and a transparent material that covers the front side of the display side, and includes the pointer 3, the dial 4, the drive source 11, and the circuit boards 8 and 9. The main components of the display device are accommodated.

The display device of the present embodiment having the above-described configuration is a novel that changes the appearance between daytime and nighttime by making the scale unit 18 visually visible with a metallic appearance during the daytime and with a light-emitting color appearance at nighttime. It is possible to provide a display device capable of improving the merchantability with a simple effect and a metallic appearance.

In the present embodiment, the design illumination structure is an edge light system, but a backlight system may be used. In the case of adopting the backlight design illumination structure, a member for reflecting the light incident from the anti-observer side toward the reflecting portion is separately provided between the dial 4 and the light guide 5. Can be considered.

As described above, the present invention can improve the merchantability through a novel effect that changes the appearance between daytime and nighttime and a metallic-like high-quality appearance.

Moreover, this invention can provide the appearance with a three-dimensional effect by forming a design by the convex part which consists of a translucent board | substrate.

Moreover, this invention can produce the external appearance change of a metal design with a simple structure by using the edge light provided facing the entrance plane formed in the outer edge part of a translucent board | substrate.

Further, in the present invention, by providing the metal tone layer on a base material separate from the translucent substrate, the metal tone layer can be easily formed and can emit light with high luminance.

Moreover, this invention can be set as a simple structure compared with the case where it uses for a number by using the permeation | transmission part which consists of a convex part for a scale.

In the present embodiment, white light emitting LEDs are used as the light sources 2 and 3, but the light source and its emission color are arbitrary.

In the present embodiment, the metal design is applied to the scale part, but in the present invention, the metal design is arbitrarily applied to other designs such as numbers and warning display symbols such as warnings. Can do.
