【発明の属する技術分野】
この発明は、飲料を吸飲するために用いられる吸口付きのストロー及びその製造方法に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、ストローとしては、細長い直管を所定長さに切断したものや、その中間部に自由に伸縮する蛇腹機構が設けられて湾曲可能となされたもの等が一般的に多く用いられている。

ところで、上記構成に係る従来のストローを用いて、例えば乳幼児が飲料を飲もうとした場合、乳幼児は口周りの筋肉が十分に発達していないため、細い直管状のストローを安定してくわえることができず、そのために一旦くわえたとしても容易に口から抜け出すことが多く、また飲んでいる途中で口からストローが抜け出すと飲料を口からこぼしてしまうといったようなことがあった。

また、ストローの端部において切断面がむき出しになっているので、ストローの取り扱いに慣れない乳幼児が誤ってそのストローの端部で口の中を突いてしまうこともある。特にストローを口にくわえながら歩いたり、走ったりしている際に転倒等した場合には怪我をする危険性もある。

そこで、先行提案においては、ストロー本体の上端部に該本体の外径よりも径大の丸みを帯びた吸口部材を接着、融着、或いは強制嵌合等により一体的に設けたものとすることが提案されている。

この先行提案によるものは、ストロー本体上端部に該本体の外径よりも径大の吸口部材が形成されているので、該吸口部材を口の中で係止させた状態でストローをくわえることにより口から抜け出しにくい、即ち離脱し難いものとなると共に、吸口部材が丸みを帯びて形成されているので、ストローの上端で口の中を突いたりする事態を防止することができ、安全性を確保することができるものである点で有利である。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上記構成に係るストローでは、吸口部材がストロー本体から離脱することが懸念される。即ち、乳幼児等がストロー一端の吸口部材をくわえ込んで、ストロー本体の上端部、特に吸口部材の下端側近傍部分を噛み潰して、該部の断面形状を塑性変形させてしまうことがあり、これが原因となって吸口部材の接合面に剥離や係止構造の解除をもたらすことがあり、これにより吸口部材がストロー本体から不本意に離脱してしまうおそれがあった。しかも、吸口部材がストローから離脱した場合には、その大きさからして乳幼児等が誤って飲み込んでしまう危険も懸念されるところであった。

また、ストロー本体と吸口部材を別個に製作してから両者を嵌合一体化するものである場合には、各部材の製作工程、これらの嵌合一体化工程を要し、工程数が多く生産性に劣るという問題もあった。

この発明は、かかる技術的背景に鑑みてなされたものであって、乳幼児等が使用する場合であっても飲料を吸飲しやすく、かつストロー上端に設けられた吸口部材がストローから離脱することがなく、万一離脱した場合でも吸口部材を飲み込むことがなくて安全性を十分に確保することができると共に、生産性に優れた吸飲用ストロー及びその製造方法を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、この発明に係る吸飲用ストローは、管状体からなるストロー本体の上端部に、膨隆状頭部を形成する吸口部材が一体的に被覆装着されると共に、該吸口部材の下端から下方に垂下されて前記ストロー本体の上端部所定長さ範囲を密着状態に被覆補強する筒状補強部材が一体的に設けられてなることを特徴とするものである。

これによれば、ストロー本体の上端部に、膨隆状頭部を形成する吸口部材が一体的に被覆装着されるので、乳幼児等が口にくわえる場合であっても吸口部材を口中、例えば上下の歯や唇に係止させながらストローをくわえることができ、口から容易にストローが離脱することがなくて飲みやすいストローとなし得る。また、該吸口部材の下端から下方に垂下されて前記ストロー本体の上端部所定長さ範囲を被覆補強する筒状補強部材が一体的に設けられてなるので、ストロー本体の上端部、特に吸口部材下端側近傍部分が補強され、噛み潰され難いものとなり、これにより乳幼児等がストロー本体の吸口部材下端側近傍部分を噛んだ場合でも、吸口部材が離脱し難いものとなる。しかも、万一吸口部材がストロー本体から離脱した場合でも、吸口部材は筒状補強部材と共に離脱されることとなり、筒状補強部材はストロー本体の上端部所定長さ範囲を被覆する比較的大きなものとなされているので、乳幼児が誤って飲み込む心配もなく、安全性を十分に確保することができる。

ストロー本体の上端部外周面に前記筒状補強部材が被覆装着され、該被覆装着された補強部材の上端部外周面を密着状態に覆った態様で吸口部材が一体成形されてなる場合には、吸口部材と筒状補強部材との材質、色等を異にすることができ、例えば両部材にそれぞれ異なる色を付することにより独特の意匠性に優れたストローを提供することができる。

一方、この発明に係る吸飲用ストローの好適な製造方法は、ストロー本体の中空空間内に、ストロー本体の上端を貫通して、一部が外方に突出する態様でピンを挿通配置せしめる工程と、前記ストロー本体の上端部外周面に、該上端部所定長さ範囲を密着状態に被覆補強する筒状補強部材をインサート成形により一体成形する工程と、該筒状補強部材及びストロー本体の上端部周壁に1ないし複数の係合孔をそれらの周壁を貫通して設ける工程と、該補強部材の上端部外周面及び前記ピンの上方突出部外周面を被覆する態様で、インサート成形により膨隆状頭部を形成する吸口部材を一体成形する工程と、該工程後にピンを抜脱する工程と、を包含することを特徴とするものである。

これによれば、前記ストロー本体の上端部外周面に、該上端部所定長さ範囲を密着状態に被覆補強する筒状補強部材を一体成形するので、筒状補強部材の製作と該部材のストロー本体への装着を同時にすることができ、吸飲用ストローの生産性を向上させることができる。また、該筒状補強部材及びストロー本体の上端部周壁に1ないし複数の係合孔をそれらの周壁を貫通して設けたのち、該補強部材の上端部外周面及び前記ピンの上方突出部外周面を被覆する態様で、インサート成形により膨隆状頭部を形成する吸口部材を一体成形するので、上述同様、吸口部材の製作と装着を同時にすることができ、生産性の向上が図られると共に、筒状補強部材の周壁だけでなく、ストロー本体の周壁にも樹脂が入り込んで突起が形成され、簡単に各部材の強固な一体化が図られる。しかも、吸口部材は、ストロー本体の中空空間内に、該本体の上端部を貫通して一部が外方に突出する態様でピンを挿通配置せしめた状態でインサート成形するので、一体成形後にピンを除去すると軸線方向に貫通する中空空間が形成され、これがストロー本体の中空空間と連通状態となるから、格別の穿孔工程を要することなく、ストローの全長に亘り、しかも吸口部材内の口径を任意に設定した吸口孔を簡単に形成することができる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、この発明に係る吸飲用ストローを図面に示す一実施形態に基づいて説明する。

この吸飲用ストロー(1)は、図1ないし図3に示すように、両端に開口を有する合成樹脂製の細長い管状体からなるストロー本体(2)の上端部に、同じく合成樹脂からなる膨隆状頭部を形成する正面視ハート型形状の有色の吸口部材(3)が一体的に被覆装着されていると共に、該吸口部材(3)の下端から垂下されて前記ストロー本体(2)の上端部所定長さ範囲を密着状態に被覆補強する筒状補強部材(4)が一体的に設けられたものである。即ち、この吸飲用ストロー(1)は、特に図2及び図3に示すように、ストロー本体(2)の上端部外周面にインサート成形により前記筒状補強部材(4)が密着状態に被覆装着され、該被覆装着された補強部材(4)の上端部外周面を覆った態様でインサート成形により吸口部材(3)が一体成形されてなるものである。なお、本実施形態においては、ストロー本体(2)は、押し出し成形により連続的に形成された合成樹脂製の断面視円形の管状体を所定長さに裁断したものが用いられている。

このように筒状補強部材(4)によりストロー本体(2)の吸口部材(3)下端側近傍部分が被覆補強されているので、吸口部材(3)下端側のストロー本体(2)周壁が補強され、噛み潰され難いものとなり、これにより乳幼児等がストロー(1)を噛んだりした場合でも、吸口部材(3)が離脱し難いものとなる。しかも、万一吸口部材(3)がストロー本体(2)から離脱した場合でも、一体化されている筒状補強部材(4)と共に離脱することとなり、該筒状補強部材(4)はストロー本体(2)の上端部所定長さ範囲を被覆するような比較的大きなものとなされているので、乳幼児が誤って飲み込む心配もなく、安全性を十分に確保することができる。この筒状補強部材(4)は、その長さがストロー本体(2)上端縁から25mm〜60mmの範囲に設定されている。筒状補強部材(4)の長さが25mmよりも小さいときは、万一該補強部材(4)に一体化された吸口部材(3)がストロー本体(2)から離脱した場合に乳幼児等が誤飲するおそれがあることから好ましくなく、一方60mmよりも大きいときは、製造コストがかさむばかりでなく、デザイン性も低下するので好ましくない。更に好ましくは、筒状補強部材(4)の長さを35mm〜50mmの範囲に設定するのが良い。

また、筒状補強部材(4)は、その下端が下方に向かって内側に傾斜するテーパー状の挿入ガイド部(4a)として形成される。これにより、ストロー差込口、例えば蓋付きコップの相対的に口径の小さいストロー差込口等にスムーズに強制挿入することができる一方、該差込口に強制挿入されたストロー(1)は簡単に抜けることがないものとすることができる。

更に、筒状補強部材(4)は、特に図3(イ)、(ロ)に示すように、その上端部外周面に環状離脱防止用突出部(6)がストロー(1)の軸線方向において断面ジグザグ状に形成される一方、吸口部材(3)の内周面にはこれらの突出部(6)に対向して環状係合溝(7)が形成され、これらが係合されている。また、該突出部(6)の下方に位置する筒状補強部材(4)及びストロー本体(2)の上端部周壁に相互に対向して2つの係合孔(8)(8)(8)(8)がそれらの周壁を貫通して設けられている一方、前記吸口部材(3)の内周面から2つの係合突起(9)(9)が相互に対向して内方に突出形成され、これらの係合突起(9)…がそれぞれ前記係合孔(8)(8)…に係合されている。これにより、吸口部材(3)とストロー本体(2)が軸線方向に係合するから、吸口部材(3)が筒状補強部材(4)に強固に一体化されると共に、これらがストロー本体(2)から離脱しないものとなる。従って、乳幼児等が取り扱う場合においても吸口部材(3)の誤飲を一層確実に防止し、安全性を十分に確保することができる。

前記吸口部材(3)には、図2及び図3に示すようにストロー(1)の軸線方向に貫通する吸口孔(3a)が形成されており、これがストロー本体(2)の中空空間(2a)に連通状態となされて、飲料を吸い上げる流路が形成されているものである。本実施形態において吸口孔(3a)は、ストロー本体(2)の内径よりも径小に形成されている。このようにストロー本体(2)の上端部に、本体(2)の外径よりも径大の膨隆状頭部を形成する吸口部材(3)が一体的に被覆装着されているので、乳幼児等が口にくわえる場合であっても、吸口部材(3)を口中、例えば上下の歯や唇に係止させながらストロー(1)をくわえることができ、口から容易にストロー(1)が離脱することがなくて飲みやすいストロー(1)となる。しかも、吸口部材(3)の内径がストロー本体(2)の内径よりも径小に形成されているので、乳幼児等が勢いよく吸い込んでむせ返すようなことがなく、一層飲みやすいストロー(1)となる。

また、ストロー本体(2)の上端部に筒状補強部材(4)及び吸口部材(3)が一体的に設けられているので、これまでのストロー(1)と異なった外観を有したものとなり、斬新な意匠が構成される。特に、本実施形態においてはストロー本体(2)上端部外周面に被覆装着された筒状補強部材(4)の上端部に、更に吸口部材(3)が一体成形されているので、吸口部材(3)と筒状補強部材(4)との材質、色等を異にすることができ、例えば両部材(3)(4)にそれぞれ異なる色を付することにより、一層美麗な意匠が構成される。

更に、本実施形態においては、筒状補強部材(4)がインサート成形により形成され、外径が均一化された補強部材(4)の上端部外周面に吸口部材(3)がインサート成形により一体成形されているので、軸線方向の位置によって若干外径のばらつきがあるストロー本体(2)に直接吸口部材(3)が一体成形される場合に比べ、吸口部材(3)の仕上がりを良好なものとなしうる。即ち、成形用金型の不適合によるバリの発生を効果的に防止することができる。

前記ストロー本体(2)を構成する合成樹脂としては、特に限定されないが、例えばEVA樹脂(エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合体樹脂)、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン等が例示できる。また、吸口部材(3)、及び筒状補強部材(4)を構成する合成樹脂としても、特に限定されず、例えば酢酸ビニル樹脂、EVA樹脂、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン等が例示できる。ただ、インサート成形によりこれらの各部材(2)(3)(4)を一体成形するので、各部材(2)(3)(4)を構成する合成樹脂は、それぞれ相溶性のあるもので構成されるのが好ましい。各部材(2)(3)(4)の接合強度が向上し、各部材(2)(3)(4)の離脱が一層確実に防止されるからである。

また、上記実施形態では、吸口部材(3)の形状は正面視ハート型形状となされているが、特にこのような形状に限定されるものではなく、例えば正面視チューリップ型形状であっても良いし、或いは正面視円形形状であっても良い。

また、上記実施形態では、係合孔(8)の数及び係合突起(9)の数は、それぞれ2個としているが、特にこれに限定されるものではなく、それぞれ1個であっても良いし、あるいは3個以上であっても良い。ただ、吸口部材のストロー本体からの離脱防止を確実に行う観点から、係合孔(8)の数及び係合突起(9)の数は、それぞれ2個以上とするのが望ましい。

上記実施形態によるこの発明の吸飲用ストロー(1)は、例えば次のようにして製作することができる。即ち、まずストロー本体(2)の中空空間(2a)内に、該上端を貫通して、一部が外方に突出する態様でピン(10)を挿通配置せしめる。即ち、成型機の成形型の下方位置から上方に向けて配置されたピン(10)にストロー本体(2)をその上端を貫通してピン(10)の一部(先端)が外方に突出する態様でセッティングする。

なお、ピン(10)の水平断面形状(先端部を除く)は、図5に示すように、その外周面の数箇所が内方に窪んだ形状となされており、これによりピン(10)外周面とストロー本体内周面との接触面積を少なくし、前記セッティングをスムーズに行い得るようになされている。また、ピン(10)の先端部は水平断面真円形状となされている。更に、ピン(10)の先端部の径はその中間部の径(外径)よりも径小に設定されている。

次に、前記挿通配置状態で、前記ストロー本体(2)の上端部外周面に、該上端部所定長さ範囲を被覆補強する筒状補強部材(4)をインサート成形により一体成形する。このインサート時の成型用金型(20)内におけるストロー本体(2)及びピン(10)の配置態様を図6に示す。このような配置状態で、キャビティー(20a)側面に設けられた2つのピンゲート(21)(21)より樹脂をキャビティー(20a)内に射出すると、筒状補強部材(4)の一体成形が行われる。即ち、筒状補強部材(4)の成形と同時に該補強部材(4)のストロー本体(2)への被覆装着ができ、工程数を少なく抑えて吸飲用ストロー(1)の生産性を向上させることができる。

次いで、前記筒状補強部材(4)及び前記ストロー本体(2)の上端部周壁に2つの相対向する係合孔(8)(8)をそれらの周壁を連通状態に貫通して設けた後、該補強部材(4)の上端部外周面及び前記ピン(10)の突出部外周面の周囲に、インサート成形法により膨隆状頭部を形成する吸口部材(3)を一体成形する。このインサート成型時の成型用金型(23)内におけるストロー本体(2)及びピン(10)の配置態様を図7(イ)、(ロ)に示す。このとき、ストロー本体(2)の上端を貫通して突出したピン(10)の先端部が、成型用金型(23)のキャビティー(23a)上面中心部に当接して配置される。このような配置状態で、キャビティー(23a)上面に設けられた2つのピンゲート(24)(24)より樹脂をキャビティー(23a)内に射出すると、前記筒状補強部材(4)及びストロー本体(2)の周壁を貫通して設けられた係合孔(8)…に樹脂が入り込んで突起(9)…が形成された状態で吸口部材(3)の一体成形が行われる。即ち、吸口部材(3)の内周面から内方に突出形成された係合突起(9)…が係合孔(8)…に係合された状態で一体成形することができる。

次いで、成形用金型(23)内よりピン(10)を抜脱すると、吸口部材(3)の中にストロー(1)の軸線方向に貫通する吸口孔(3a)が形成され、この吸口孔(3a)がストロー本体(2)の中空空間(2a)と連通状態となるので、飲料を吸い上げる流路が形成される。そして、ピン(10)の先端部(10a)の径はその中間部の径(外径)よりも径小に設定されているので、得られる吸引用ストロー(1)において吸口部材(3)の内径はストロー本体(2)の内径よりも径小となる。従って、乳幼児等が勢い良く吸い込んでもむせ返すようなこともなく、非常に飲みやすいストロー(1)となる。

上記製造方法によれば、インサート成形時に、吸口部材(3)の製作と、ストロー本体(2)、筒状補強部材(4)及び吸口部材(3)の一体化を同時に行うことができるので、工程数が少なくて済み、生産効率に優れている。また、簡単に各部材(2)(3)(4)の強固な一体化が図られる。

図4には、この発明に係るストローの他の実施形態を示す。上記実施形態では、吸口部材(3)はインサート成形により一体成形された筒状補強部材(4)の上端部外周面に更にインサート成形により一体成形したものを示したが、この実施形態に係るストロー(31)は、吸口部材(33)を筒状補強部材(34)と同時に単一のインサート成形工程をもって成形したものである。この実施形態では、ストロー本体(2)の上端部周壁に係合孔(38)がその周壁を貫通して設けられる一方、吸口部材の内周面から係合突起(39)が内方に突出形成され、これらが係合されてストロー本体(2)に一体化されるものとなされている。このような構成にすれば、筒状補強部材(34)及び吸口部材部材(33)を同時に単一の成形工程で製作及び装着することができるので、生産効率の一層の向上を図ることができると共に、吸口部材(33)と筒状補強部材(34)とを一連のものとして形成することができ、両者の離脱を一層確実に防止しうるものとなしうる。このストロー(31)のその他の構成は、上記実施形態と同様であり、同一符号を付してその記載を省略する。

【発明の効果】
以上のように、この発明に係る吸飲用ストローによれば、乳幼児等が口にくわえる場合であっても吸口部材を口中、例えば上下の歯や唇に係止させながらストローをくわえることができ、口から容易にストローが離脱することがなくて飲みやすいストローとなし得る。また、ストロー本体の上端部、特に吸口部材下端側近傍部分が補強され、噛み潰され難いものとなる。従って、乳幼児等がストロー本体の吸口部材下端側近傍部分を噛んだ場合でも、ストロー本体の断面形状の変形による接合面の剥離や、係止構造の解除等を防止することができ、筒状補強部材の吸口部材が離脱し難いものとなる。しかも、万一吸口部材がストロー本体から離脱した場合でも、吸口部材は筒状補強部材と共に離脱されることとなり、筒状補強部材はストロー本体の上端部所定長さ範囲を被覆する比較的大きなものとなされているので、乳幼児が誤って飲み込む心配もなく、安全性を十分に確保することができる。
