[Technical field to which the invention belongs]
The present invention relates to a resin composition for forming a cured layer on a substrate such as a plastic film. The present invention also relates to a hard coat film, and more particularly to a hard coat film having excellent hard properties and adhesion for use on the surface of a CRT display or flat panel display (liquid crystal display, plasma display, EL display, etc.).
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, various hard coat films in which a cured film is provided on a plastic film and the film surface is given scratch resistance and antiglare properties have been proposed. In particular, in a hard coat film for a polarizing plate used for a liquid crystal display, high definition has advanced and many functions are required.
Among them, adhesion and hardness between the coating film and the substrate are one of important physical properties. In order to increase the degree of adhesion of the coating film to the substrate film, conventionally, the substrate film surface has been generally subjected to a physical treatment such as a chemical treatment such as primer coating or a corona treatment before coating. However, these methods are not satisfactory methods for maintaining good adhesion of the coated film after the environmental durability test.
[0003]
JP-A-9-302144 discloses a method of adding a cellulose-based resin as a method for improving adhesion to a substrate film, particularly a triacetyl cellulose film. However, since cellulose resins have few crosslinkable groups and relatively high molecular weight, the resulting hardened layer has a problem of low hardness (hardness), and CRT displays and flat panel displays (liquid crystal displays, plasma displays) , EL displays, etc.) are insufficient for the use of hard coat films used on the outermost surface.
Thus, it has been difficult to achieve both the hardness (hardness) of the cured layer and the adhesion between the base film and the conventional method.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Therefore, the object of the present invention relates to a hard coat film, and in particular, a hard coat that can be used without any problem on the outermost surface of a CRT display or flat panel display (liquid crystal display, plasma display, EL display, etc.) and has good adhesion. It is providing the resin composition for forming a film and its hardened layer.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, the present inventors have studied an ultraviolet curable resin composition, and as a result, pentaerythritol triacrylate, pentaerythritol tetraacrylate, dipentaerythritol monohydrate having a plurality of acryloyl groups as monomers in the resin composition. It was confirmed that the use of hydroxypentaacrylate and dipentaerythritol hexaacrylate greatly affects the hard properties and adhesion, and the present invention has been achieved.
[0006]
The above object of the present invention is to provide an ultraviolet curable resin composition comprising an oligomer, a monomer, and a photopolymerization initiator, and use as a monomer pentaerythritol triacrylate, pentaerythritol tetraacrylate, dipentaerythritol monohydroxypentaacrylate, dipentaerythritol hexaacrylate. A coating material for plastic films containing at least one of the above as a main component, an ultraviolet curable resin composition containing 25 to 75% by weight in the resin component, a molecular weight of 1500 to 2000 as an oligomer, and a resin having an acryloyl group Was applied to the surface of the plastic film and then irradiated with ultraviolet rays to achieve a hard coat film provided with a cured layer.
[0007]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The plastic film used in the present invention is not particularly limited, and can be appropriately selected from known plastic films. Examples of such plastic film include polyester film, polyethylene film, polypropylene film, cellophane film, diacetyl cellulose film, triacetyl cellulose film, acetyl cellulose butyrate film, polyvinyl chloride film, polyvinylidene chloride film, and polyvinyl alcohol film. , Ethylene vinyl alcohol film, polystyrene film, polycarbonate film, polymethylpentel film, polysulfone film, polyether ether ketone film, polyether sulfone film, polyetherimide film, polyimide film, fluororesin film, nylon film, acrylic film, etc. Can be mentioned.
[0008]
When the hard coat film of the present invention is used on the outermost surface of a CRT display or flat panel display (liquid crystal display, plasma display, EL display, etc.), a transparent film is preferably used, particularly excellent in optical properties and relatively It is preferable to use an inexpensive transparent triacetyl cellulose film.
[0009]
The monomer of the ultraviolet curable resin composition has 3 to 6 acryloyl groups in one molecule, and pentaerythritol triacrylate, pentaerythritol tetraacrylate, dipentaerythritol monohydroxypentaacrylate, dipentaerythritol hexaacrylate, respectively. It is.
[0010]
Since the above monomer has very good wettability with the triacetyl cellulose film, it is particularly preferably blended in the coating for triacetyl cellulose.
In the ultraviolet curable resin composition of this invention, it is necessary to contain a monomer 25 to 75weight%. If the monomer content is low, the hardened layer is inferior in hardness, and if the monomer content is high, the adhesion between the base film and the hardened layer tends to be inferior.
[0011]
In the present invention, both hardness and adhesion can be achieved by using an oligomer having a functional group together with the monomer. It is essential to use an oligomer having an acryloyl group. The oligomer used in the present invention is not particularly limited as long as it has an acryloyl group as a functional group and is cured by irradiating ultraviolet rays, such as a urethane acrylate resin, a polyester acrylate resin, and an epoxy acrylate resin. Can be selected as appropriate. The molecular weight must be 1500 to 2000.
[0012]
Examples of the photopolymerization initiator for the ultraviolet curable resin composition include acetophenones, benzophenones, Michler benzoyl benzoate, α-amyloxime esters, thiochitosans, and n-butylamine, triethylamine, tri-n- Butylphosphine etc. can be mixed and used.
[0013]
When applying the coating material of the present invention to a plastic film, the UV curable resin composition is diluted with an organic solvent from the viewpoint of facilitating the application and forming a cured layer having a uniform thickness. In addition, various additives can be added within a range not inhibiting the curing, and the viscosity and properties of the coating liquid can be adjusted. Examples of the organic solvent include alcohol solvents such as isopropyl alcohol and ethanol, aromatic hydrocarbon solvents such as toluene and xylene, ester solvents such as ethyl acetate, and ketone solvents such as acetone.
[0014]
In the paint of the present invention, a pigment may be mixed in order to impart an antiglare property to the cured layer. As the pigment used in the paint, it is preferable to use a pigment having a refractive index close to that of the ultraviolet curable resin composition so as not to impair the transparency of the ultraviolet curable resin. For example, in addition to inorganic pigments such as silica, alumina, and zirconia, polymer beads such as acrylic resin, polystyrene resin, polyvinyl chloride resin, polycarbonate resin, and PMMA resin are also used. In particular, silica particles are preferable from the viewpoint of antiglare property and light transmittance. The pigment can be easily contained in the cured layer by mixing and dispersing in the paint of the present invention by a known method.
[0015]
In providing the hardened layer, a known coating method such as spray coating, gravure coating, roll coating, bar coating or the like can be used. The coating amount is adjusted in a timely manner so as to have a predetermined thickness in consideration of required characteristics, adhesion, and hardness. In the present invention, a cured layer is obtained by irradiating a coating film formed by applying a paint mainly composed of an ultraviolet curable resin composition on a plastic film with ultraviolet rays.
[0016]
For the ultraviolet irradiation, a known light source such as a halogen lamp can be used. For example, the film is easily cured by irradiating a halogen lamp of 120 to 240 W / cm for several seconds from a distance of 10 to 20 cm.
In the hard coat film of the present invention, the reason why the cured layer and the base film, particularly the triacetyl cellulose film are excellent in adhesion is not clear, but the wettability between the ultraviolet curable resin composition of the present invention and triacetyl cellulose is not certain. Presumably because it is good. In addition, since the monomer has a plurality of acryloyl groups, it is possible to obtain a hard coat film having a high crosslinking density and having both hard properties and adhesiveness.
[0017]
【The invention's effect】
The hard coat film of the present invention obtained by using the ultraviolet curable resin composition of the present invention and providing a cured layer on the surface of a plastic film is used for in-vehicle instrument panels, computers and television displays, particularly for liquid crystal displays. It is suitable as a protective and anti-glare film that is used by sticking to the surface.
[0018]
