Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a water-based ink for a writing instrument in which handwriting written with a marking pen, a ballpoint pen, or the like is erased over time.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, phthalein indicators have been known as acid-base indicators that repeat color development and decoloration depending on the state of hydrogen ion concentration. Using this property, water-based inks are known in which written handwriting loses color over time. It has been.
As such decolorizable ink, JP-A-53-145736, JP-A-54-131428, JP-A-54-154631, JP-A-57-145169, and the like are known.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, since the phthalein indicator is hardly soluble in water or a solvent, the conventional invention has a problem in the stability of the ink because the phthalein indicator is deposited over time.
Accordingly, the present invention provides a decolorizable water-based ink that is highly stable over time.
[0004]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A decolorizable water-based ink comprising water, a humectant, a phthalein indicator, a propylene glycol monoalkyl ether, and a pH adjuster.
[0005]
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail.
The decolorizable water-based ink of the present invention contains water, a humectant, a phthalein indicator, a propylene glycol monoalkyl ether, and a pH adjuster as at least essential components.
[0006]
The water may be tap water, but distilled water is most preferred. Water is used in an amount of about 10 to 80% by weight, preferably about 30 to 50% by weight, based on the total amount of ink.
[0007]
As the humectant, glycerin, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, diethanolamine, triethanolamine, methyl cellosolve, ethyl cellosolve, or the like is used.
The humectant is used in an amount of about 10 to 90% by weight, preferably about 30 to 70% by weight, based on the total amount of ink.
[0008]
Phthalein indicators are α-naphtholphthalein, p-cresolphthalein, o-cresolphthalein, m-cresolphthalein, phenolphthalein, thymolphthalein, xylenolphthalein, dibromophenoltetrabromophenylsulfonephthalein, Nitrophenol sulfonephthalein or the like is used. These phthalein indicators develop color on the basic side and decolorize on the acidic side.
The phthalein indicator is used in an amount of about 0.1 to 20% by weight, preferably about 0.5 to 10% by weight, based on the total amount of ink.
[0009]
Propylene glycol monoalkyl ether includes 1,2-propylene glycol monomethyl ether, 1,2-propylene glycol monoethyl ether, 1,2-propylene glycol monopropylene ether, 1,3-propylene glycol monomethyl ether, 1,3-propylene Glycol monoethyl ether, 1,3-propylene glycol monopropylene ether, etc. are used. The propylene glycol monoalkyl ether functions as a solubilizing agent for the phthalein-based indicator, and can dramatically increase the solubility in water and a humectant.
The phthalein indicator is used in an amount of about 0.1 to 20% by weight, preferably about 0.5 to 10% by weight, based on the total amount of ink.
[0010]
As the pH adjuster, sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate, diethanolamine, triethanolamine, aqueous ammonia and the like are used. Lower alkanolamine also acts as an absorbent for acidic gas, and aqueous ammonia also has the effect of neutralizing acidic gas by generating ammonia gas.
The pH adjuster is used in an amount of about 0.1 to 40% by weight, preferably about 0.5 to 30% by weight, based on the total amount of ink.
[0011]
In the present invention, 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one, 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one sodium salt, 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one alkylamine, 2-methoxycarbonyl is optionally used. An appropriate amount of additives such as preservatives and fungicides such as aminobenzimidazole-4′-N-dodecylbenzoyl sulfonate, ultraviolet absorbers, and complementary agents such as dyes and pigments may be blended.
[0012]
When the above elements are mixed, the water-based ink of the present invention is obtained. The water-based ink preferably has a pH of about 9-12.
[0013]
Next, the usage method of this invention is demonstrated.
Since the decolorizable ink of the present invention is kept alkaline, the phthalein indicator is in a colored state. This is packed in an absorbent marking pen or a raw ink direct liquid ballpoint pen and written on high-quality paper or cardboard. If left for a certain period of time, the blended alkaline component is volatilized and lost, or the chemical structure of the dye changes due to the decrease in pH and close to neutrality, and eventually the color disappears.
[0014]
【Example】
EXAMPLES Hereinafter, although an Example demonstrates this invention, this invention is not limited to these Examples.
(Experimental example 1)
Water 55.0% by weight
Glycerin 30.0% by weight
o-Cresolphthalein 2.0% by weight
1,2-propylene glycol monomethyl ether 10.0% by weight
Sodium carbonate 2.0% by weight
1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one 1.0% by weight
The above substances were stirred to prepare a decolorizable ink composition. The color of the ink was clear and slightly reddish purple, but this was impregnated into an ink absorber made of polyester fiber for a marking pen and incorporated in the marking pen body.
Even if the marking pen was stored in a dark place for 6 months, no o-cresolphthalein was deposited.
[0015]
(Experimental example 2)
52.0% by weight of water
Glycerin 30.0% by weight
o-Cresolphthalein 2.0% by weight
1,3-propylene glycol monomethyl ether 10.0% by weight
Triethanolamine 5.0% by weight
1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one sodium salt 1.0% by weight
The above substances were stirred to prepare a decolorizable ink composition. The color of this ink was clear and slightly reddish purple, but this was incorporated in a direct liquid ballpoint pen having an ink regulator.
Even when the ballpoint pen was stored in a dark place for 6 months, no o-cresolphthalein was deposited.
[0016]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, the present invention was able to increase the solubility of the phthalein indicator, thereby improving the stability of the decolorizable ink. Therefore, even when writing on paper, cloth, cardboard, etc., it is possible to leave the handwriting at a practical concentration for a certain period of time, and to obtain a writing instrument in which the phthalein-based indicator does not precipitate even if stored for a long period of time. it can.
