Conventionally, for example, a pen-type syringe for a patient to inject insulin or growth hormone by himself (self-injection) has been proposed (see Patent Document 1).
Until the patient is able to self-inject, the nurse uses the pen-type syringe to teach the patient how to inject. In such a case, after performing the injection, a nurse replaces the needle unit of the pen-type syringe for each injection from the viewpoint of hygiene. The used needle unit is discarded in a medical waste container (see Patent Document 2).
JP-T-2006-519078 Registered design number 1166202

However, during the replacement of the needle unit of the pen-type syringe, a medical accident has occurred, such as a needle tip sticking into a nurse and causing a hospital infection.
On the other hand, in order to avoid the medical accident, a trumpet type replacement device that covers a nurse's hand is also used, but it is large and bulky, and forgets to bring the replacement device. It is complicated because there is a fear.

Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a needle unit removal method and a medical waste container that can safely remove a needle unit from a pen-type syringe without using a dedicated instrument.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the medical waste container of the present invention has a needle unit having a needle and a needle housing surrounding a part of the needle, which is attached to and detached from the main body case by a screw, and a patient administers a medical solution by himself A method for removing the needle unit from the main body case of a pen-type syringe suitable for use in a needle case capable of storing the needle unit in a bottomed removal recess formed in a medical waste container. The removal concave portion 17 has a depth D of 6 in accordance with the small diameter portion of the commercially available needle case so that the small diameter portion 21 of the needle case 20 does not fit into the concave portion 17 and the needle case 20 does not fall down. 0.0 mm to 10 mm, and the diameter is set to 5.8 mm to 6.8 mm.
The upper surface of the removal recess 17 is formed in a slightly rounded shape so that the small-diameter portion 21 of the needle case 20 can easily enter.

As shown in FIG. 3, when the small diameter portion 21 of the needle case 20 is inserted into the removal recess 17, the side surface of the small diameter portion 21 (FIG. 6) of the needle case 20 is supported on the side surface 17a of FIG. The lower end of the small diameter portion 21 is supported on the bottom portion 17b of the needle 17, and the needle case 20 is erected as shown in FIG.
The planar shape of the removal recess 17 does not necessarily have to be a circle, and is a shape such as a polygon or an ellipse in which the needle case 20 does not fit in the removal recess 17 and does not fall down in the removal recess 17. I just need it.
In addition, as shown in FIG. 11, a small hole 17 c may be formed in the side surface 17 a of the removal recess 17.
