Description
The present invention relates to an electric discharge machining apparatus that performs machining by applying a voltage between a machining electrode and a workpiece to generate electric discharge, and particularly, high-speed responsiveness in the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis directions of electrode driving. The present invention relates to an electric discharge machining apparatus that achieves the above and further improves machining accuracy.
In electrical discharge machining, in which machining electrodes and workpieces are placed in the machining fluid and a voltage is applied between them to generate electrical discharge and machining, the desired shape is machined while maintaining a stable machining state. Further, a driving device for adjusting the position of the processing electrode or the workpiece is configured. FIG. 17 is a block diagram showing a schematic configuration of a conventional electric discharge machining apparatus described in, for example, “Electrical discharge machining technology—from basics to future prospects”, Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun (1997), p63 to p64.
In FIG. 17, 101 is a processing electrode, 102 is a workpiece, 103 is a processing liquid, 104 is a processing tank, 1201 is an electrode mounting portion for mounting the
FIG. 18 shows an inter-electrode control system for controlling the electric discharge machining state in the electric discharge machining apparatus shown in FIG. In the figure, 301 is an electric discharge machining process unit, 302 is a machining state detection unit, 303 is a target value setting unit, 304 is a machining locus setting unit, 1301 is a machining control unit, 1302 is an XYZ drive control unit, 1303 is a current amplifier unit,
However, the machining state fluctuates irregularly, and the high-speed response of the XYZ driving device is important in order to maintain a stable machining state. When a stable machining state cannot be maintained, a short circuit state, a concentrated arc state, etc. frequently occur, and the effective discharge state that contributes to machining decreases, resulting in a reduction in machining speed. In addition, frequent occurrence of short-circuit conditions and concentrated arc conditions may cause cracks and pits on the machined surface, and abnormal electrode wear locally, resulting in degraded machined surface quality and machining accuracy. Invite the deterioration. When high-speed response of the XYZ drive cannot be expected, high-accuracy machining is performed in order to maintain a stable machining state by selecting machining conditions that make the inter-electrode distance relatively large during machining. It becomes difficult to realize.
By the way, the patent publication of Japanese Patent No. 2714851 “Electrical Discharge Control Device” discloses, as one means for solving the problem of the high-speed responsiveness of the above processing electrode driving device, the processing electrode and the workpiece to be processed in the coaxial direction. In order to move at least one of the objects, it is described that a plurality of drive mechanisms having different frequency characteristics are combined, and an inter-pole control system is configured by the combined drive system. However, a specific drive mechanism that can realize a high-speed response in all directions of the X direction, the Y direction, and the Z direction is not described, and a jump operation that is used to maintain a stable machining state is not described. There is no mention of a machining control method or a control device in the case of a swing motion.
Further, in the processing method disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 1-234162 (Japanese application), a grinding machine is provided with a magnetic bearing spindle in place of the conventional motor and ball screw cutting operation of the tool into the workpiece, He devised a method of moving the spindle into the workpiece at a high speed by moving the spindle in the radial direction of the spindle based on a predetermined target value, thereby improving machining efficiency and machining accuracy. In electric discharge machining, the machining electrode is driven in the XYZ directions based on the machining trajectory, and the drive amount must be determined so that machining is stable based on the electric discharge machining state. Further, the drive amount may be several μm to several tens of centimeters depending on the machining, and the machining may not be performed with the drive amount that can be driven by the magnetic bearing spindle. In other words, the machining method disclosed in the above-mentioned JP-A-1-234162 is not configured to control the driving direction, and it is difficult to obtain good machining results even when applied to electric discharge machining. is there.
In the conventional electric discharge machining apparatus, when the
The present invention was made to solve the above-described problems, and can suppress an increase in the mass of a portion that must be driven in the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis directions simultaneously with the processing electrode, An object of the present invention is to obtain an electric discharge machining apparatus that can realize high-speed responsiveness in the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis directions, and that can improve machining speed and machining accuracy.

FIG. 3 is a block diagram of a gap control system for controlling the electric discharge machining state of the electric discharge machining apparatus shown in FIG. In FIG. 3, 301 is an electric discharge machining process unit, 302 is a machining state detection unit, 303 is a target value setting unit, 304 is a machining locus setting unit, 305 is a machining control unit, and 306 is an electrode drive control unit.
Further, the target
The position command value Up to the electrode
FIG. 4 is a diagram showing the operation contents of the inter-pole control system shown in FIG. The gap control is generally realized by software processing by a microcomputer, and FIG. 4 shows the k-th processing. S401 is a process in the machining
In S404, coordinate conversion from Up (k) to the radial direction and the thrust direction is performed, and target values Rm (k) in the radial direction and the thrust direction are obtained. Next, the deviation Em (k) is obtained from the target value Rm (k) and the detection value Sm (k) from the radial direction
As described above, in the electric discharge machining apparatus according to Reference Example 1 of the present invention, the
In the inter-electrode control system, the machining
As described above, the electromagnet is used for the radial driving unit and the thrust driving unit of the
In addition, as described above, the case where the inter-electrode control system is configured by detecting the machining state by the average inter-electrode voltage has been described, but the inter-electrode control system is configured by detecting the machining state by the no-load time of the discharge pulse. Alternatively, the same effects as described above can be achieved.
In the above, proportional + integral compensation is performed. However, a feedback control system such as proportional compensation or proportional + integral + differential compensation, a feedforward control system, or the like may be configured, and the same effects as described above can be achieved.

FIG. 6 is a block diagram of an inter-electrode control system for controlling an electric discharge machining state in an electric discharge machining apparatus as Reference Example 2 of the present invention. In FIG. 6, the same reference numerals as those in FIG. 3 denote the same or corresponding parts, and the description thereof is omitted.

FIG. 7 is a block diagram showing the cooperative

Rj is a jump motion setting value set by the jump

In FIG. 10, the meanings of e, Upl, and Ups are the same as those shown in Reference Example 2.

FIG. 13 is a block diagram showing an outline of an electric discharge machining apparatus that is Embodiment 1 of the present invention. In FIG. 13,
