Description
・ 従来技術で使用された複雑な数学的モデルの代わりに振る舞いに関するネットワーク・トラフィック・モデルを使用することにより、ユーザ・プロセスをシステム−ネットワーク・インタフェースにおける受信動作の完了と正確に同期化し、負荷を平衡化し、ネットワーク内の経路を指定し、システム/ネットワーク性能パラメータのチューニングを行うという能力に加えて、ネットワーク・トラフィックのリアル・タイム解析を提供する。
・ ネットワークの諸ノードにおける製品を設計し、テストし、評価するための、複数の時間スケールにわたって自己相似性であるバースト性ネットワーク・トラフィックを生成する能力を提供する。

Claims (7)
- 1つのバースト性状態及び複数のアイドル状態を有する改良されたマルコフ変調ポアソン過程(MMPP)モデルを使用してネットワーク・トラフィックを解析するための方法であって、
前記改良されたMMPPモデル内の各状態用の動作の時間スケールを、前記各状態毎に異なるように、確立するステップと、
各状態用の動作の前記時間スケールに基づいて、当該状態用の遷移値を確立するステップと、
1つ以上のネットワーク・アダプタ内で受信された個別パケット間の到着時間間隔を測定するステップと、
最も最近に受信されたパケットの前記測定された到着時間間隔及び前記遷移値に基づいて、前記ネットワーク・トラフィック用の現状態を決定するステップと、
前記測定された到着時間間隔に基づいて、各状態用の前記遷移値を調整するステップを含み、
前記各状態用の前記遷移値を調整するステップが、
各状態の間に受信された個別パケット間の前記到着時間間隔における変化を追跡するステップと、
各状態用の前記追跡された変化に基づいて、前記各状態毎に異なるように、当該状態用の前記遷移値を調整するステップとをさらに含む、
方法。 - 前記現状態に基づいて、受信すべき次のパケット用の到着時間間隔を予測するステップと、
前記次のパケット用の実際の到着時間間隔を測定するステップと、
前記予測された到着時間間隔及び前記実際の到着時間間隔に基づいて、前記現状態を調整するステップとをさらに含む、請求項1記載の方法。 - 各状態用の前記遷移値が、当該状態の間に受信された前記個別パケットの平均到着時間間隔に相当する遷移値λmeanである、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記バースト性状態用の前記遷移値が、バースト性状態における前記到着時間間隔用の上方境界を表す遷移値λB maxであり、
各アイドル状態用の前記遷移値が、各アイドル状態における前記到着時間間隔用の下方境界を表す遷移値λI minである、請求項1記載の方法。 - 前記改良されたMMPPモデルを使用してネットワーク・トラフィックを解析することがリアル・タイムで実行される、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記改良されたMMPPモデルが、前記バースト性状態と前記複数のアイドル状態の各々との間に2つのバリア状態をさらに含む、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記改良されたMMPPモデルが、少なくとも2つのアイドル状態を含む、請求項1の方法。
