【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は玩具に使用するに好適な合成樹脂製のチェーンリンクに関する。

【従来の技術】
玩具の二つの軸間のトルク伝達のためのトルク伝達機構に合成樹脂製のチェーンリンクを連結したチェーンが用いられる。その一例が特表平10−500193号公報に開示されるが、同公報に開示される例を図3と図4に示す。
チェーンを構成するチェーンリンク1は対の向い合う側板2,2と、側板2,2の一端を貫通し側板2,2の側外方へと延在する駆動軸3と、駆動軸3と一体であって対の側板2,2間に位置するガイド部4とを有する。

側板2,2は段部5を有し、その自由端部6が互いに接近する方向に位置付けられるように成形される。段部5の段差は側板2,2の厚み相当とする。自由端部6には下向きに開口した連結孔7が設けられる。連結孔7は隣り合うチェーンリンク1の駆動軸3を枢動自在に受け、チェーンリンク1を連結し、チェーンを構成するために用いられる。
チェーンリンク1の連結に際しては、その自由端部6の下方から隣り合うチェーンリンク1の駆動軸3の端部を連結孔7に押し込む作業を順次行なえばよい。
駆動源としてのスプロケットに駆動軸3の端部又はガイド部4を噛合せ、チェーンを走行させる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
前述した従来例ではチェーン長手方向に張力が作用したとき、チェーンリンクの自由端部に対して向い合う自由端部を拡げようとするので、連結孔から駆動軸が脱落しようとする動きをなす。又、下向きに開口した連結孔のため自由端部の強度が劣下する不具合が生じる。

これに対して、実開昭61−164847号公報に開示されるチェーンリンクは、中空のブッシュから側外方へと拡げられた向い合う側板を有する構成で、側板の連結孔に隣り合うチェーンリンクのブッシュを貫通するピンの端部を挿入してチェーンリンクをつなぎ、チェーンを作る構成となっている。
この手段は、しかし、チェーンリンク成形のためスライド金型を必要とし、さらには、別部材としてのピンを調達しなければならない不具合を有す。

それ故に、本発明は、隣り合うチェーンリンクの連結部の強度を下げることなく、しかもスライド金型を必要としないチェーンリンクを提供することを解決すべき課題とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、前述した課題を解決するために、基本的には、チェーンリンクの向い合う側板の自由端部を段部を介して側外方に位置させかつ連結孔の両開口部側を切欠き部とさせる技術手段を用いる。

この手段の採用は、チェーンの長手方向に張力が作用したとき、チェーンリンクの連結部を外さないようその向い合う自由端部が接近する方向に動き、又、連結孔は上下に開放されていないので、連結部の強度の低下はない。加えて、連結孔まわりの切欠き部はスライド金型を不用とするので、同一の金型面積により多くのチェーンリンクを成形させ得る。

本発明によれば、駆動軸の端に固定された対の離間した側板を有し、該側板の自由端部が段部を介して互いに対称に側外方に位置し、上記自由端部の外面に、所定厚さの側板部分を残して切り欠く切欠き部が形成され、連結孔が切欠き部に開口し、長手方向に張力が作用したとき対の自由端部が互いに接近する方向に動くようにしたチェーンリンクであって、
前記切欠き部の一端が側板の自由端部の上側又は下側に向けて、開放部が幅広となるように開放されていることを特徴とする合成樹脂製のチェーンリンクが提供される。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1に示すように、本発明の一例のチェーンリンク10は一端が駆動軸11に一体に成形された対の離間した側板12,12を有す。
各側板12はその自由端部13が段部14を介して側外方に位置するよう構成される。自由端部13に連結孔15を設ける。

側板12の自由端部13の外壁面に切欠き部16を設ける。切欠き部16は、自由端部13の下側面に開放され、下側の開放部を幅広とする略U字状をなす。
側板12の自由端部13の内壁面に切欠き部17を設ける。切欠き部17は、自由端部13の上側面に開放され、上側の開放部を幅広とする略U字状をなす。

チェーンリンク10の連結は、チェーンリンク10の向い合う自由端部13を押し拡げて、隣り合うチェーンリンク10の駆動軸11の端部を連結孔15に挿入し、自由端部13を元の状態に戻すことで、チェーンリンク10,10のつながりを作り、チェーンを構成する。この挿入作業を容易にするため、図1に示すように、駆動軸11の両端部にカット面18を設けるとよい。カット面18は、切欠き部16,17の長手方向に直交する方向に切られており、チェーンリンク10の結合時、カット面18が切欠き部16,17の開放縁に対向し、駆動軸11を切欠き部16,17に滑り込ませ得るので、駆動軸11の切欠き部16,17への挿入作業は容易となる。

図1から明らかなように、側外方に位置する自由端部13の肉厚は残りの基端部の肉厚より大とし、切欠き部16,17を設けた後に連結孔15部分の肉厚を基端部の肉厚相当若しくはそれ以下とさせる。
これら切欠き部16,17は金型の下型と上型に設けた対応部により成形されるが、この対応部に連結孔15の半分相当の突状筒部を設け、上下金型のこの突状筒部により連結孔15を成形する。
合成樹脂材の射出成形後、上下金型を離すことで、突状筒部を連結孔15から抜きとる。このようにして、スライド金型を使用することなく、合成樹脂材のチェーンリンクを成形する。
