Description
本発明は、自動車のブレーキ、クラッチ等に使用される摩擦材に関し、詳しくは、耐摩耗性に優れ、相手材への攻撃性が小さく、広い温度域において高い摩擦係数を有する摩擦材に関する。 TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a friction material used for automobile brakes, clutches, and the like, and more particularly, to a friction material having excellent wear resistance, low attacking property against a counterpart material, and having a high friction coefficient in a wide temperature range.
Conventionally, a friction material having a potassium base fiber instead of asbestos fiber as a fiber base is known (
Therefore, conventionally, the friction material described in
そこで本発明は、耐摩耗性に優れ、相手材への攻撃性が小さく、広い温度域において高い摩擦係数を有する摩擦材を提供することを課題とする。 Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a friction material that is excellent in wear resistance, has a low aggressiveness to a counterpart material, and has a high friction coefficient in a wide temperature range.
前記課題を解決するために本発明は、各請求項に記載の通りの構成を備える摩擦材であることを特徴とする。
すなわち請求項1に記載によると、繊維基材と充填材を結合剤によって結着させた摩擦材であって、充填材として、非ウィスカー状チタン酸アルカリ金属塩と非ウィスカー状チタン酸アルカリ金属・アルカリ土類金属塩の少なくとも一つのチタン酸化合物塩と、平均粒径1.2〜4μmのFe2O3とを含んでいる。
In order to solve the above-described problems, the present invention is a friction material having a configuration as described in each claim.
In other words, according to
Therefore, since this friction material has a titanate compound salt, a transfer film can be formed with the titanate compound salt, and high abrasion resistance can be obtained by the transfer film. This friction material Although Fe 2 O 3 also has, Fe 2 O 3 is a Mohs hardness of about 6.0, ZrO 2 (Mohs hardness 6.5) and ZrSiO 4 (
In addition, since the Mohs hardness of Fe 2 O 3 is about 6.0, even when Fe 2 O 3 is added, the aggression against the counterpart material becomes greater than when a general friction modifier is added. There is nothing. Further, the friction coefficient in the general use temperature range (100 to 200 ° C.) does not become too high, and this can suppress the occurrence of brake squeal.
Further, since Fe 2 O 3 has an average particle diameter of 1.2 to 4 μm, the amount of Fe 2 O 3 can be increased while maintaining properties such as wear resistance in a high state. By increasing the ratio, a high friction coefficient can be obtained even in a normal temperature range (20 to 70 ° C.) where the lubricity of graphite or the like is high.
Fe 2 O 3 is indefinite and thermally stable compared to Fe 3 O 4 which is the same iron oxide.
In addition, since the titanic acid compound salt is non-whisker-like, it does not contain whisker-like fibers having a length of 5 μm or more, a diameter of 3 μm or less, and an aspect ratio (length / diameter) exceeding 3 which are undesirable for environmental hygiene. Therefore, there is no concern about carcinogenicity to the human body.
Moreover, according to this friction material, since the fiber etc. which contain the hard titania crystal of the Mohs hardness 7.5 which are described in
請求項2に記載の発明によると、Fe2O3の添加量が、摩擦材全体の6〜22重量%である。
したがってFe2O3の添加量が摩擦材全体の6重量%以上であるために、Fe2O3と相手材との接触面積が十分に広くなり、これによって常温域(20〜70℃)における摩擦係数を十分に高くなる。
またFe2O3の添加量が摩擦材全体の22重量%以下であるために、Fe2O3が多すぎることによって耐摩耗性が低減することが抑制されている。
According to the invention described in
Therefore, since the addition amount of Fe 2 O 3 is 6% by weight or more of the entire friction material, the contact area between Fe 2 O 3 and the counterpart material is sufficiently widened, and thereby, in a normal temperature range (20 to 70 ° C.). The coefficient of friction is sufficiently high.
In order added amount of Fe 2 O 3 is less than 22 wt% of the total friction material, the wear resistance by Fe 2 O 3 is too large is suppressed to be reduced.
請求項3に記載の発明によると、チタン酸化合物塩が、板状、フレーク状または粉状の非ウィスカー状になっている。
請求項4に記載の発明によると、チタン酸化合物塩の添加量が、摩擦材全体の6〜38重量%である。
したがってチタン酸化合物塩の添加量が摩擦材全体の6重量%以上であるために、耐摩耗性を十分に大きく確保することができる。
According to the invention described in
According to invention of
Therefore, since the addition amount of the titanic acid compound salt is 6% by weight or more of the entire friction material, it is possible to ensure a sufficiently large wear resistance.

From the experimental result of the comparative example 1, it turned out that a high friction coefficient is obtained in a general use temperature range (100 degreeC) by including plate-shaped potassium titanate and zirconium silicate. However, it was found that the coefficient of friction was low in the normal temperature range (50 ° C.).
From the experimental results of Comparative Examples 2 and 3, it was found that the friction coefficient in the normal temperature range (50 ° C.) is increased by increasing the amount of zirconium silicate or zirconia added as compared with Comparative Example 1. However, it has been found that the wear resistance is lowered, the face-to-face attack is increased, and the brake squeal occurs in the general use temperature range (100 ° C.).
From the experimental results of Examples 2 to 5, the friction coefficient in the normal temperature range (50 ° C.) is increased by adding Fe 2 O 3 with the addition amount of zirconium silicate kept small (less than 6 wt%). I understood it. In particular, it has been found that the addition of Fe 2 O 3 having an average particle size of 1.2 μm or more increases the friction coefficient in the normal temperature range (50 ° C.).
From the experimental results of Comparative Example 5, it was found that the estimated life of the friction material was shortened by adding Fe 2 O 3 having a large particle size (average particle size of 5.0 μm or more).
実施例6〜9と比較例6の実験結果から、Fe2O3の添加量が多いほど、一般使用温度域(100℃)と常温域(50℃)における摩擦係数が高くなり、ロータ摩耗量が多くなることがわかった。とりわけFe2O3の添加量を6重量%以上にすることによって常温域(50℃)における摩擦係数が高くなることがわかった。
比較例7の実験結果から、Fe2O3の添加量が多すぎると(27重量%以上にすると)摩擦材の推定寿命が短くなることがわかった。
From the experimental results of Examples 6 to 9 and Comparative Example 6, the larger the amount of Fe 2 O 3 added, the higher the coefficient of friction in the general operating temperature range (100 ° C.) and the normal temperature range (50 ° C.), and the amount of rotor wear. It turns out that there will be more. In particular, it was found that the friction coefficient in the normal temperature range (50 ° C.) is increased by making the addition amount of Fe 2 O 3 6% by weight or more.
From the experimental results of Comparative Example 7, it was found that when the amount of Fe 2 O 3 added is too large (27% by weight or more), the estimated life of the friction material is shortened.
実施例10〜15と比較例8の実験結果から、板状6チタン酸カリウムの添加量が多いほど、摩擦材の推定寿命が長くなることがわかった。 From the experimental results of Examples 10 to 15 and Comparative Example 8, it was found that the estimated life of the friction material was increased as the amount of plate-like potassium titanate added was increased.
