【発明の属する技術分野】
この発明は、戸建て住宅等の玄関或いは階段などの既存の上がり框のリフォーム方法及びリフォーム上がり框に関する。

【従来の技術】
戸建て住宅等の玄関などの木製上がり框は、長年の使用により表面が劣化したり、擦り傷、当て傷等の傷が生じて外観上見苦しくなってくる。そこで、外観上再度きれいな状態にするためにリフォームが行われる。

この上がり框のリフォームとして、既存の上がり框を取り外して新たな上がり框を取り付けていたが、このリフォームでは時間及び費用を要するばかりでなく手間がかかることから、従来、例えば特開平7−4016、特開平11−172894等にあるように、既存の上がり框を残したままで、その上に新たな化粧材を被覆してリフォームする方法が提案されている。

この化粧材を被覆するリフォーム方法において、化粧材を釘等の機械的固定手段により被覆固定することとすると、釘等の頭部が露出して美観を損なうという固有の問題が生じることから、化粧材を接着剤等により上がり框上面及び前面に直に被覆固定する方法が採られる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、上記のように上がり框の表面は、長年の使用により汚染されており、また艶を付与するためにワックスが塗布されていることが多いために、接着剤などの接着により化粧材を上がり框に直に被覆固定しようとすると上記汚染やワックスが接着阻害要因となり接着不良が起きることがあるという問題があった。

この問題を解消するために、化粧材を既存の上がり框の表面に被覆固定する前に、該上がり框表面をサンドペーパー等で研磨したり、ワックス洗浄剤や剥離剤を用いて汚れやワックスを除去するとともに、上がり框表面を清浄かつ平滑に仕上げる前処理作業が行われているが、現場のリフォーム施工においてこのような前処理作業は非常に手間がかかり面倒である上に、上がり框表面を均一な平滑面に研磨することは熟練を要し困難であるという問題があった。

この発明は、上記問題に鑑みてなされたものであり、上がり框を簡単かつ確実に良好な美観にリフォームすることができる上がり框のリフォーム方法及び耐用性に優れたリフォーム上がり框の提供を主たる目的とする。

また、この発明の他の目的は、既存の上がり框を残したままで簡単に照明付の上がり框にリフォームすることができる上がり框のリフォーム方法及び安全性に優れた照明付の上がり框の提供にある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記の目的において、この発明に係る上がり框のリフォーム方法は、既存の上がり框の上面及び前面のうちの少なくとも上面に、板状の下地材を釘打ち等の機械的固定手段により被覆固定する工程と、次いで、前記下地材の表面及び前記上がり框の前面側にそれぞれ化粧材を接着により被覆固定する工程とを有すること要旨とする。

これによれば、既存の上がり框の少なくとも上面に下地材を機械的固定手段により被覆固定した後、その表面に化粧材を接着により被覆固定するとともに、既存の上がり框の前面側も化粧材を被覆固定するので、頻繁に力を受ける上がり框の上面において上がり框、下地材及び化粧材がそれぞれ一体的に固定されるとともに、現場における汚れやワックスの除去作業を要さずリフォーム作業が簡単化され、上がり框を簡単かつ確実に良好な美観にリフォームすることができる。

また、この発明に係る他の上がり框のリフォーム方法は、既存の上がり框の前面に下端部に照明手段を有する照明付中間部材を釘打ち等の機械的固定手段により固定する工程と、前記上がり框の上面と前記照明付中間部材の表面のうち少なくとも前記上がり框の上面に、板状の下地材を釘打ち等の機械的固定手段により被覆固定する工程と、前記照明付中間部材の表面側と前記下地材の表面を覆って、それぞれ化粧材を接着により被覆固定する工程とを有することを有することを要旨とする。

これによれば、既存の上がり框の上面に下地材を機械的固定手段により被覆固定した後、その表面に化粧材を接着により被覆固定するとともに、照明付中間部材の表面側も化粧材を被覆固定するので、上記のリフォーム方法と同様に、上がり框を簡単かつ確実に良好な美観にリフォームすることができるとともに、下端部に照明手段を備えた照明付中間部材が既存の上がり框の前面に固定されるので、照明を備えた上がり框に簡単にリフォームすることができる。しかも、照明手段により上がり口の段差部分が照らされることから、躓きや転落を防止することができ、安全性に優れた上がり框にリフォームすることができる。

また、上記リフォーム方法において、前記上がり框の前面又は前記照明付中間部材の表面に板状の下地材を釘打ち等の機械的固定手段により被覆固定する工程を含み、前記上がり框の前面側又は前記照明付中間部材の表面側の化粧材を前記下地材の表面に接着により被覆固定する場合、上がり框上面と同様に上がり框前面や照明付中間部材の表面においても化粧材が機械的固定手段により強固に被覆固定された下地材を介して接着されるので、それぞれの部材が既存の上がり框に一体的に強固に固定され、上がり框をより一層確実に良好な美観にリフォームすることができる。

また、前記上がり框の上面側化粧材と前記上がり框の前面側又は前記照明付中間部材の表面側化粧材とは、それらの境界の裏面側に設けられた溝部による折り曲げ部を介して、表面側で連続一体化されたものとするのが望ましい。これによれば、上がり框の上面側化粧材と前面側化粧材とが表面側で切れ目なく連続一体化されているので、施工を簡易に行いうるのはもとより、上面側化粧材の先端面又は前面側化粧材の上端面が上がり框の外観に露出せず、一層良好な美観の上がり框にリフォームすることができる。

また、前記下地材又は前記照明付中間部材はその表面に金属箔或いは合成樹脂フィルム等の薄膜材からなる平滑化層が一体に接着固定され、かつ前記化粧材はその裏面に同じく平滑化層が一体に接着固定され、これらの平滑化層を介して前記下地材又は前記照明付中間部材と前記化粧材とを接着するものとした場合、それぞれの部材間での接着力を強化し、これらの下地材又は照明付中間部材と化粧材をより確実かつ強固に接着することができる。

また、前記下地材若しくは前記照明付中間部材の表面又は前記化粧材の裏面のいずれか一方に金属箔或いは合成樹脂フィルム等の薄膜材からなる平滑化層が一体に接着固定され、かつ他方に両面接着層が圧着して設けられ、これら平滑化層を介して前記両面接着層で前記下地材又は前記照明付中間部材と前記化粧材とを接着する場合、一方の部材の平滑化層による平滑表面に対して、他方の部材をその表面に強固に圧着固定された両面接着層で接着するので、下地材又は照明付中間部材と化粧材を確実に接着することができる。しかも、両面接着層が予め一体に圧着固定したものとすることができるので、作業現場において両面接着層を覆う剥離テープ等をはがすだけで下地材又は照明付中間部材と化粧材を簡単に接着することができる。

また、前記照明手段は、下方に向かって備えられた一個又は複数個の光源と、該光源に接続される配線コードを収容する溝が形成された配線溝部材と、その配線溝部材の溝部を覆うように設けられた溝蓋部材とを有し、該溝蓋部材に前記光源が取着されるとともに、同溝蓋部材が前記配線溝部材に対し着脱自在に取り付けられているものであることが望ましい。これによれば、光源に接続された配線コードが配線溝部材に収容され、その状態で溝蓋部材が前記配線溝部材の溝部を覆うように設けられているので、配線コードが露出せず良好な美観を保持することができるとともに、配線コードの水濡れを防止することができる。しかも、溝蓋部材はその着脱が自在であることから、その後の照明手段のメンテナンスを容易に行いうる。

【発明の実施の形態】
〈第1の実施形態〉
図1ないし図4は、この発明に係る上がり框のリフォーム方法を玄関の既存の上がり框(1)に適用した場合の実施形態の一例を示すものである。

玄関における上がり框(1)にこの発明に係るリフォーム方法を適用する場合は、まず、図1(a)又は同(b)に示すように、既存の上がり框(1)の前面に前面下地材(3)を被覆固定する。

この前面下地材(3)は、幅が上がり框(1)前面の幅とほぼ同一で、かつ高さが上がり框(1)の高さとほぼ同一の寸法を有する長方形状の薄板材からなり、その表面には金属箔による平滑化層(11)が全領域にわたって一体に接着固定されている。また、前面下地材(3)は、後述の釘打ち等の機械的固定手段により上がり框(1)前面に被覆固定した場合に反り返ることなく馴染むように、曲げ剛性が比較的低いもの或いは曲げ剛性が高くても反りが比較的小さくて上がり框(1)前面に密着できるものを用いるが望ましい。前面下地材(3)の厚さは、特に限定するものでないが、曲げ剛性が比較的低くなるようにリフォーム前に適宜その厚さが決定される。なお、曲げ剛性を低くするために、前面下地材(3)の裏面に溝を設けても良い。

そして、この前面下地材(3)を、その下端面を上がり框(1)の下面に一致させた状態で、前面下地材(3)の裏面側にその幅方向に沿って貼着された両面接着テープ(41)により、上がり框(1)の前面に仮止めする。続いて、前面下地材(3)を、その上端部と下端部とにおいて幅方向に沿って等間隔にスクリュー釘(31)を打ち込むことによって、上がり框(1)の前面に被覆固定する。

このように上がり框(1)前面に前面下地材(3)を機械的固定手段の一つであるスクリュー釘(31)によって被覆固定するので、上がり框(1)前面に汚れや傷、ワックスがある場合でも前面下地材(3)は、上がり框(1)の前面に強固かつ確実に固定しうる。しかも、前面下地材(3)によって、上がり框(1)前面のワックス等の接着阻害要素は完全に隠蔽され清潔な面が形成されるので、後述するように該面に直接化粧材を接着する場合にあっても強固な接着力を実現することができる。

次に、図2(a)又は同(b)に示すように、既存の上がり框(1)上面に上面下地材(2)を被覆固定する。

この上面下地材(2)は、幅が上がり框(1)上面の幅とほぼ同一で、かつ奥行きが上がり框(1)の奥行きに前面下地材(3)の厚さを加えた寸法とほぼ同一の寸法を有する長方形状の薄板材で、その表面には金属箔による平滑化層(10)が全領域にわたって一体的に接着固定されている。また、上面下地材(2)は、後述の釘打ち等の機械的固定手段により上がり框(1)上面に被覆固定した場合に反り返ることなく馴染むように、曲げ剛性が比較的低いものが望ましい。更に、上面下地材(2)の厚さは、上がり框(1)に接する床材を同時にリフォームする場合の床用化粧材の厚さを考慮しつつ、曲げ剛性を低くする観点から6mm以下で、また後述の釘打ちにおいて釘頭が突き抜けることを防止する観点から1mm以上であることが望ましい。なお、前面下地材(3)と同様に、上面下地材(2)の裏面に溝を設けても良い。

そして、この上面下地材(2)を、その先端面を前面下地材(3)の表面に一致させた状態で、上面下地材(2)の裏面側にその幅方向に沿って貼着された仮止め用の両面接着テープ(42)により、上がり框(1)の上面に仮止めする。続いて、上面下地材(2)を、その先端部と後端部とにおいて幅方向に沿って等間隔にスクリュー釘(30)を打ち込むことによって、上がり框(1)の上面に被覆固定する。

このように機械的固定手段の一つであるスクリュー釘(30)によって上がり框(1)上面に上面下地材(2)を被覆固定するので、上がり框(1)前面と同様に、上面下地材(2)を上がり框(1)上面に強固かつ確実に固定することができる。しかも、上面下地材(2)によって、上がり框(1)上面の汚れや傷、ワックスが完全に隠蔽され上がり框(1)上面に接着阻害要素のない清潔な面が形成される。なお、上面下地材(2)の取付に際し、その先端部を前面下地材(3)の上端面に載置させるものとすることにより、上からの荷重に対して上面下地材(2)上端縁の破損を有効に防止しうる点で好ましい。

なお、前面下地材(3)及び上面下地材(2)の材質は、例えば、合板、単板積層板、集成材、中質繊維板、硬化繊維板、パーティクルボード、ムク材等の木質材を単独又は2種類以上組み合わせたもの、あるいはまたこれらのものを厚さ方向又は/および幅方向に複合したものを好適に採用しうるが、これに限定されるものではなく、金属製薄板材を採用することもできる。

次に、図3(a)又は同(b)に示すように、前面下地材(3)及び上面下地材(2)の表面にそれぞれ化粧材(5)(6)を被覆固定する。

これらの化粧材(5)(6)は、上面下地材(2)の表面に被覆固定される上面側化粧材(5)と、前面下地材(3)の表面に被覆固定される前面側化粧材(6)とからなる。この上面側化粧材(5)は、幅が上がり框(1)上面の幅とほぼ同一で、かつ奥行きが上がり框(1)の奥行きに前面下地材(3)の厚さを加えた寸法とほぼ同一の寸法を有する長方形状の薄板材である。一方前面側化粧材(6)は、幅が上がり框(1)前面の幅とほぼ同一で、かつ高さが上がり框(1)の高さに上面下地材(2)の厚さを加えた寸法とほぼ同一の寸法を有する長方形状の薄板材である。これら上面側化粧材(5)及び前面側化粧材(6)は、前記各下地材(2)(3)と同様、ともにその裏面には金属箔からなる平滑化層(12)(13)が全領域にわたって一体に接着固定されている。また、これらの化粧材(5)(6)は、被覆固定した場合に反り返ることなく馴染むように、曲げ剛性が比較的低いものが望ましい。更に、これらの化粧材(5)(6)の厚さは、特に限定されないが、特に上面側化粧材(5)の厚さは、上がり框(1)に接する床材を同時にリフォームする場合の床用化粧材の厚さを考慮しつつ、曲げ剛性を低くする観点から一般的には6mm以下のものが採用される。ただし、薄すぎると下地が透けて美観を損なうという懸念を考慮すれば0.5mm以上であることが望ましく、より望ましくは1mm以上であることが望ましい。なお、これら化粧材(5)(6)の曲げ剛性を比較的低くするために、これら化粧材(5)(6)の裏面に溝を設けても良い。

また、上記両化粧材(5)(6)は、各々独立の部材であっても良いが、本実施形態による上面側化粧材(5)と前面側化粧材(6)とは、それらの境界部分の裏面側に設けられた溝部による折り曲げ部(7)を介して、表面側で連続された一体物として構成されている。上記溝部は、図5に示すように、その断面が表面層をわずかに残したW字状形状を有するものが形成され、図5の一点鎖線で示すように、前面側化粧材(6)を上面側化粧材(5)に対して垂直に折り曲げうるものとなされている。この実施形態によれば、上面側化粧材(5)と前面側化粧材(6)は表面側で一体連続しているので、折り曲げた場合にも裏面側において各化粧材(5)(6)の端面が露出せず、また溝部が断面W字状に形成されていることにより、上面側化粧材(5)と前面側化粧材(6)屈折部外面を面取り状態に折り曲げることができる。なお、溝部の断面は、W字状の形状に限定されず、その他の公知の溝形状、例えばV字状の形状であっても良い。

そして、上面側化粧材(5)と前面側化粧材(6)とが折れ曲がった状態で上面側化粧材(5)を、その後端面が上面下地材(2)の後端面に一致するように配置し、その前後両端部及びその中央部において幅方向に沿って貼着された両面接着テープ(32)によって上面下地材(2)の表面に接着するとともに、前面側化粧材(6)を、その下端面が前面下地材(3)の下端面に一致するようにした状態で、その上下両端部及びその中央部において幅方向に沿って貼着された両面接着テープ(33)によって前面下地材(3)の表面に接着する。これによって、各化粧材(5)(6)を、各下地材(2)(3)の表面にそれらの表面を覆って確実に被覆固定する。なお、この一連の作業の際、折り曲げ部(7)の破損防止の観点から化粧材(5)(6)の表面に折り曲げ部(7)に沿って補強用テープ(T)を貼着しておくものとするのが望ましい。この場合、作業後に該補強用テープ(T)は剥離除去するのが普通であるが、美観向上のために補強用テープ(T)として透明テープや蛍光テープを採用し、これを施行後もそのまま残すものとしても良い。また、上記溝部は、両化粧材(5)(6)を折り曲げた状態で接着固定してもよいし、しなくても良い。

このように、スクリュー釘(30)(31)により被覆固定した上面下地材(2)及び前面下地材(3)の清潔な表面にそれぞれ上面側化粧材(5)及び前面側化粧材(6)を両面接着テープ(32)(33)により被覆固定するので、現場において汚れやワックスを除去するために上がり框(1)の表面を研磨等する必要がなく作業が簡単化されるとともに、上がり框(1)、各下地材(2)(3)及び各化粧材(5)(6)が相互に一体的に強固に固定され、上がり框(1)を簡単かつ確実に良好な美観にリフォームすることができる。しかも、各下地材(2)(3)の表面に露出したスクリュー釘(30)(31)の頭部は化粧材(5)(6)によって隠蔽されるので美観を損なうことがなく、靴下を引掛ける等の危険を生じる恐れもない。

なお、上面側化粧材(5)及び前面側化粧材(6)の材質は、合板、単板積層板、集成材、中質繊維板、硬質繊維板、パーティクルボード、ムク材等の木質材、紙、不織布、合成樹脂含浸等のシート基材を単独又は2種類以上組み合わせたものを好適に採用することができる。さらには、これらのものを厚さ方向又は/および幅方向に複合したものを使用してもよい。また、各化粧材(5)(6)の表面には、紙、合成樹脂シート、木質単板等の模様印刷シートの貼着、或いは着色処理や塗装処理により任意の化粧が施されている。

また、平滑化層(10)〜(13)は、上面下地材(2)及び前面下地材(3)の表面並びに上面側化粧材(5)及び前面側化粧材(6)の裏面をより平滑にして接着力を向上させるもので、金属箔、なかでも錆が発生しにくく加工性が高いアルミニウム箔を用いるのが好ましいが、アクリル樹脂、ABS樹脂、フッ素樹脂、無可塑剤型の塩化ビニール樹脂からなる合成樹脂フィルムあるいは合成樹脂シート、またはそれを有する複合フィルムあるいは複合シートであってもよい。その厚さは特に限定されないが、平滑度の向上の観点から0.04mm以上、切断容易性の観点から1.0mm以下のものを用いるのが望ましい。

また、両面接着テープ(32)(33)は、不織布等の基材の両面に粘着剤や接着剤を塗布、含浸させたものや、粘着剤や接着剤自体からなるものがあるが、各化粧材(5)(6)がそれぞれ各下地材(2)(3)から容易に剥がれないような接着力を有することが必要である。また、その厚さは特に限定されないが、接着安定性の観点から0.05mm以上が望ましく、特に基材の両面に粘着剤や接着剤を塗布、含浸させたものでは、基材の層間剥離の懸念から1mm以下が望ましい。また、両面接着テ−プ(32)(33)による各下地材(2)(3)と各化粧材(5)(6)との接着は、全面でも部分的であっても良いが、それぞれの部材を確実に接着するためには貼付面積が部材全面の10%以上であるのが望ましく、更に望ましくは17%以上がよい。

こうして得られたリフォーム上がり框は、図4に示すように、既存の上がり框(1)の上面と前面にそれぞれ板状の上面下地材(2)及び前面下地材(3)が機械的固定手段のひとつであるスクリュー釘(30)(31)により被覆固定されるとともに、各下地材(2)(3)の表面に化粧材(5)(6)が両面接着テープ(32)(33)により被覆固定されてなり、上面側化粧材(5)と前面側化粧材(6)とが裏面側に設けられた溝部による折り曲げ部(7)を介し、かつ表面側で連続一体化されてなる構造となる。

このリフォーム上がり框によれば、上面下地材(2)及び前面下地材(3)がそれぞれ上がり框(1)上面及び前面にスクリュー釘(30)(31)により被覆固定され、各下地材(2)(3)の表面に上面側化粧材(5)及び前面側化粧材(6)が両面接着テープ(32)(33)により被覆固定された構造なので、上がり框(1)上面及び前面の汚れ、傷やワックスの有無にかかわらず、それぞれの部材が一体的に確実に固定され、上がり框(1)の上面及び前面が良好な美観を有し、安全で、しかも化粧材の剥離の恐れのない耐用性の優れたものとなしうる。

また、上面側化粧材(5)と前面側化粧材(6)とが裏面側に設けられた溝部による折り曲げ部(7)を介し、かつ表面側で連続一体化されているので、各化粧材(5)(6)の端面が露出せず、より良好な美観なものとなる。

なお、第1の実施形態では、上がり框(1)前面にスクリュー釘(31)により前面下地材(3)を被覆固定し、その表面に前面側化粧材(6)を被覆固定するものとしたが、図6に示すように、上がり框(1)前面に前面下地材(3)を被覆固定しないで前面側化粧材(6)を直接接着により被覆固定するものとしても良い。これによれば、上がり框前面について前面下地材(3)の被覆固定工程を省略しうることにより、工期の短縮、材料費の節減をはかることができる。ただ、この場合は、上がり框(1)前面に前面側化粧材(6)を接着により直接被覆固定することとなるので、十分な接着力を確保するため前面側化粧材(6)の裏面側の全領域に接着剤を塗布して接着するのが望ましい。さらには両面接着テープを併用してもよい。
